If the Grizzlies had not run into the warriors earlier, I'm quite certain they'd be in the conference finals now. And thanks to Dallas for making the warriors path to the finals easier but eliminating the suns. |

Roland17:Doncic doesn't look like the sentimental nice guy type like Gianni's, he's more like lebron to me. Once free agency comes and Dallas has not sorted out their shit, he will bounce out of town. And I can't imagine how frenetic a luka free agency will be like. Teams will start courting him 3 years ahead ![]() |

Blueelf:You guys never learn. In the words of the immortal kobe, is the job done? Calm down and watch history unfold before your eyes. Future generations would be talking about this series centuries from now on . Just watch. |

etidy:Like @Donlittle25 said, Cuban nearly did the same thing with Dirk but Dirk is on another level when it came to skill and mentality. Aged 32, he pretty much led a bunch of old guys to a title against the same Heat team that denied him when he was 27 I think. There is a history with Cuban and how he puts together his team. While Luka is just 23, he is not far from 25 and once you hit 25, you heading north oh and time flies. Cuban has to find that 2nd established superstar to come to Dallas. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:33am On May 23, 2022 |
Golden State simply have too much depth. I knew this series was lost after that Game 2 chokejob by the Mavs. If you're the weaker team you absolutely cannot lose such a lead. I would be shocked if this doesn't end in a sweep. People don't realize how deep this Warriors squad is. Steph Klay Wiggins Poole That's 4 guys that can give you 15-40 points any given night. Teams like that are tough to beat especially for a Dallas that has no big that can go in the paint Reggie Bullock shot 0/10. Maxi Kleber 0/5. The Mavs are a good 3pt shooting team and it's what they do best unfortunately they're facing a team better than them at this plus they cannot rebound |

donlittle25:Assinn, Dirk was taking paycuts for years and they kept paying scrubs to come play with him. I just hope Luka gives them 7 years, if they don't get him the bona-fide wingman, the boy should move |

A40:Both teams are just erratic |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 3:14am On May 24, 2022 |
Mark Jackson, just made a great point, when the next CBA happens and ownership brings up the case of Simmons and Kyrie (rightfully so), the issue of sitting guys who are willing and ready to play also has to be addressed. Horford, Wall and many others who were willing to play have been deprived of that opportunity because the team wanted to tank for picks |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Blueelf: 3:53am On May 24, 2022 |
Jesus the rest of the Miami Heats are in single digits apart from Vic Oladipo Good Lawd!!! What fuckery!!! |

Khanben:They're getting paid regardless. There's a difference |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 1:00pm On May 24, 2022 |
A40:So just because they are getting paid, the team has the right to just derail their career because they want to tank. Professional sports is just like any other profession, this archaic attitude that it is a privilege is laughable. Just as no one expects any top Professional in any field to just down tools and not work for any reason and still expect to get paid, also no one expects a professional to accept becoming redundant because they are getting paid, but somehow when it comes to athletes, people have that inexcusable cop-out "they are getting paid ", so what? You cannot make rules for them and not for me, if you don't want to play a guy, either trade him, or agree to a buyout. If the league will insist on earn as you play as they should, then it has to be bilateral. |

A40:E better pass WCF, we go manage am like dat abeg. Where are the dodos annointing Luka as the next Lebron, best player left in the playoffs, etc Lol |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 4:02pm On May 24, 2022 |
birdman:I have a question, does losing a series mean a player on the losing side cannot be the best player? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:34pm On May 24, 2022 |
birdman:I have found the Western bracket far more entertaining Luka beat a 64 win team. To put in perspective Lebron beat just 1 50+ win team from 2003-2010 |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:37pm On May 24, 2022 |
A40:For you though... The spike in ratings from this season's playoff is attributed to the games in the Eastern conference. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:42pm On May 24, 2022 |
birdman:I have allowed you breath for a while now. If Tatum takes the Celtics past the Heat and into the Finals, I will be expecting your regular scheduled apology to him for the DISRESPECTFUL BLASPHEMY championed by you on this thread. This time it must be in 2000 words or more..no excuses ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:45pm On May 24, 2022 |
Khanben:False equivalence. In the real world if your employer is paying you and you don't have to show up at work are they really derailing your career? I'm sure everyone here would gladly take $28m to not show up at work. Plus if you don't show up at that work doesn't that leave you time to do other stuff? These guys are simply far too well compensated for you to bandy that line. Who is going to agree to a buyout for a John Wall or Al Horford? What was their market and who agrees on terms? Did you see any team hustling for John Wall? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Skrrrrrrr: 4:49pm On May 24, 2022 |
Khanben:If you mean Luca, then he has not been the best player in the western conference finals. He only leads in points and is -20 in this series. Steph tops him in assist, rebounds, Fg%, 3pt%, and is +19. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:50pm On May 24, 2022 |
Roland17:I meant the Western Finals. I don't want to believe you're that much of a homer to believe the Eastern games have been better Plus the Warriors and Grizzlies has the highest rating thus far in the playoffs |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:06pm On May 24, 2022 |
A40:Oh I get you now. For me though, the EC games have been better, more thrilling and competitive, maybe because I am a Celtic but that seems to be what I have been seeing overall. I guess overall this year's playoff must have NBA executives proud and happy for the future of the league. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Thanos(m): 5:54pm On May 24, 2022 |
Skrrrrrrr:1- Basketball is the game of Hot tajes so I’ll oblige. Only during Luka’s rookie season was Steph above him in anything, since then, Luka has shown, and proven to be the better player. This is not a knock-on Steph, it’s just the reality. When Steph was asked to do more with less, just this last season, he put up otherworldly numbers only to be bounced in the play-in. The exact same situation Luka is in now, only that the baby Goat against all odds, managed to drag this sorry ass excuse for a team to the WCF. 2- Ya'll need to stop with the Jayson Tatum over hype. This man was drafted into one of the best-run organizations. Has been coached by some of the league's brightest minds, and has a team that is expected to make a run at the championship every year since he got to the league. Yet nothing to show for it. I put it to you that if JT had been drafted by a Cleveland, Kings, hell, even my Mavs, my man would be another Bradley Beal. A decent player putting numbers on a below-average team whose yearly target is to make the playoffs and get bounced in the first round. The kid is a star but is too inconsistent now to be called a superstar. 3- If you are a gambling man, few websites have the Mavs winning these series at +63 points. You are all about to witness the start of the greatest basketball story ever told. MAVS IN 7!!!!! |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 5:56pm On May 24, 2022 |
A40:There goes that phrase they are well compensated. They are compensated because they are the product and they drive revenue. As Shaq put it, for anyone who is giving me a 200mil contract that person is making 10x more from me. I don't hear anyone giving the excuse that even though Simmons did not play, the sixers ownership never lost a dime due to his refusal to play. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Khanben: 6:04pm On May 24, 2022 |
Thanos:Thank you, sometimes when I hear people talk, I wonder if they are watching tennis or golf. This is a team sport, and they is nothing no one player can do if the other team is way better. MJ has the highest points scored in a nba playoffs game at 63pts, but you know what, he not only lost that game, he was swept in that series. I watched KG go 3 straight years in his prime without making the playoffs, was that because he was not one of the best 5 players in basketball or because his team was just crap. You swap Luka with Steph for both teams and the Mavs would have a worse chance of winning 1 game, than they have now. PS: Steph team last year was not worse than this Mavs team and they couldn't even make the playoffs |
