Resignation From PDP: Has Peter Obi Miscalculated? by Penguin2(op): 6:19pm On May 25, 2022
Having seen the resignation letter of Peter Obi from PDP which confirmed his exit from the party and withdrawal from the party’s presidential race, I’m tempted to question the rationale behind that decision.

I’m an ardent supporter of Peter Obi but I think that if he has truly resigned from the PDP, then he has goofed; it’s a complete faux pax for him.

Because I do not see any other platform that can possibly grant him victory in the general election.

Remaining in PDP would have guaranteed either the presidential ticket or vice presidential ticket which would have brought him closer to the presidency.

As we wait to confirm if this is fake or true, and to know Obi’s next move, I make bold to say that this decision, if confirmed, was a miscalculation.

Re: Resignation From PDP: Has Peter Obi Miscalculated? by LegendHero(m):
He is probably going to NNPP.

What I now don't know is who will be the VP or Presidential candidate between him and Kwakwanso.

If Kwakwanso will be the Presidential candidate & Obi VP; Then Obi is a big fool because he would have had more chance with being VP to Atiku in PDP.

If Obi will be the presidential candidate and Kwakwanso the VP; Then I like that even tho they will still lose the election. But at least he made a statement.

Only that the Kwakwanso I know will not be VP to Obi Pandora.

The thing there is......obi didn't miscalculate.

Something must be behind it

Obi should join NNPP.

Whether miscalculated or calculated he's the next president of Nigeria .Wherever he goes, we'll all vote him massively. We Nigerians can't afford to loose this golden opportunity.

That would be a masterstroke.

I pray he’s the presidential candidate

And not running mate.

An Obi/Kwankwaso ticket would be a bomb

He withdrew from the presidential of PDP not participation in 2023 presidential election.

They will still lose woefully. presidential election is more of structures rather than only candidate.

Where will they get the structure?
Re: Resignation From PDP: Has Peter Obi Miscalculated? by SensetionalGoal(m): 6:28pm On May 25, 2022
I will never doubt Obi's decisions...

He must have seen what we are not seeing
Though I would have loved him to clinch the presidency through PDP...

You mistook primary election for General election here

Nope. If you read the content of the letter, he said to PDP that "My commitment to rescuing Nigeria remain firm, even if the route differs".

That means he might use another route (party).

I am talking about general election.

How do you convince people in the remote part of Oyo to vote NNPP? What structure does NNPP have in those areas to inform voters and what incentive is there to push them to thumb-print?

Most of those voters that vote usually do that for parties. Because they have people right there in that locality holding sway since God knows when. So beside the notoriety of candidate in the city/social media, they need that party to be recognized in rural areas. NNPP don't have that.

That is exactly why error votes from party with name identical with PDP/APC are more than the combined vote of the third force parties in the last election.

Bro, twitter is different from real election.

Oh!.

That's actually true.

Well..... wherever obi goes, I'm going there too

Regardless, Tinubu is the incoming president of Nigeria (sad but true embarassed)

You cannot blame him he is the only one who saw what he saw before he resign. Our politics is not as easy as you normally say it here on nairaland. People have been telling you this but you thought otherwise

No. Obi did not miss calculate. A lot of work has gone into this. By the Grace of God, Obi will be the presidential candidate and Kwakwanso Vice in Kwakwanso's party. A political earthquake is about to happen in Nigeria

He was never going to be the PDP flag bearer. That's what most twitter folks didn't/don't get.
And his supporters have been clashing with people with opposite view online.

Him contesting on another platform will make his loss, if he loses, less embarrassing. I still think the odds are highly against him when everything is put into consideration
Re: Resignation From PDP: Has Peter Obi Miscalculated? by seunmsg(m): 6:39pm On May 25, 2022
Leaving PDP was the only way to avoid embarrassment. Head or tail, he’s never going to be president or VP so why waste time, money and endure an embarrassing defeat on a venture that is bound to fail?
Re: Resignation From PDP: Has Peter Obi Miscalculated? by ItsTutsi(m): 6:47pm On May 25, 2022
Lol! You are highly delusional and living in an illusion!! PO never had the chance to win the primaries, it would have even been a miracle being in top 5, talkless of him winning it l.. politics is not social media likes and retweet ooo!! grin

Do u know his relationship with Atiku currently for u to talk about VP slot?? How surw are u Atiku is still considering him!! Maybe something went wrong along the line or the reality on ground is not favourable to it

You people don’t get it. Obi won’t decamp if Atiku impressed it on him he will be VP.

It is obvious Atiku was going to use Wike or someone else as VP so he left in order not to lose presidency or vp
