But Atiku was already the Governor-elect of Adamawa statein 1999 before OBJ chose him as his running mate.

I don't think Obaseki will accept to be Atiku's running mate, and I don't think Atiku will win the presidential election come 2023 because he is power drunk and very desperate to be the president of Nigeria.

So, Obaseki would rather stay put as a governor to build his political structure to a standard one.

I think obaseki can be running mate to atiku as governor of state. If pdp wins, bye election will be conducted for governorship position. If pdp looses, he continues as governor.

Which school taught you the nonsense @bolded?

How old was Goodluck Jonathan when he left as governor to become a Vice President?

Okowa is clinching that post as VP, that was why he worked against Wike and never vied for the post of Senate... Atiku will not be so daft to select Wike as his vice cos he knows that Wike could overthrow him but one thing they don't know is that Okowa is even more deadly than Wike, albeit silent. AKA slow poison.

If you have reasonable thing to say, state position of electoral law. If a governor win presidential primary ticket, do you think he would resign and handover to deputy?
Did Ajimobi resign as governor when he contested for senate?

Anything that will make it seem like Philip Shuaibu will succeed Obaseki will not be acceptable in Edo PDP. If Obaseki likes he can become the overall leader of the party in Abuja.

Obaseki cant win vote , Obaseki is a betrayal and he cant be trusted
Pierohandsome:
Atiku was a governor elect when he was chosen by Obj as running mate. So Obaseki 1year and 7 months into office is not a disqualifying factor that he can't vice Atiku

Even Namadi Sambo, was a governor when he was picked to Vice GEJ at the demise of Yar'Adua. I know is not a disqualifying factor.

These cases are different from the one at hand. Right now, Atiku's presidential bid is still a gamble, anything can happen and he will loose. By then Philip Shuabu will be sworn in as Governor of Edo State, will he vacate the seat for Obaseki.
GEJ have already been sworn in so Namadi Sambo knows that the position is sure for him. Obaseki go leave his hard earned second term go enter Presidential gamble with Atiku...
It's not happening even in a nolloywood movie , it won't happen.
You just wrote % nonsense.let me school you just once
If obaseki is choosen as running mate to atiku,he won't relinquish his position as governor because he is elected and not appointed. Maybe atiku wins he still won't relinquish his position until he is sworn in as VP. The deputy governor is then sworn in as governor without any election till 2024.
If you still don't understand, why hasn't all the governors who won their senatorial bid relinquish power?

The permutation might be nonsense but saying because he just spent less than two years he won't willingly leave Governor for VP is utmost nonsense.

Do you remember thesame Atiku and GEJ!

In as much as your analysis is top notch I don’t think Atiku will win. We cannot have another president from the North. Nigeria is a multiethnic nation and it did be wise power rotates among the 5 regions else another civil war is inevitable. It takes scratch of a poisonous fang to ignite a civil war in a country torn by politics, tribalism, religion and nepotism

As earlier stated, Atiku and Wike would present a very tough battle for the APC to defeat. Forget obaseki, that one na scam. He isn't trustworthy and can misbehave at any point in time. Okowa is even a better option to obaseki.
Re: Atiku's Victory And Obaseki's Vice Presidential Bid: A Case For Philip Shaibu by dochenaj: 1:02am On May 30, 2022
He doesn't need to vacate his office as governor. If Wike had won the PDP primaries, would he have to resign as governor of Rivers state now? Of course not.

The same applies to if he gets the VP position. So why should Obaseki resign because he is picked as VP?

He will only resign immediately before he is sworn in as VP, cos he can't be Governor and VP at the same time.

So they will leave Fayose and other people to pick someone who has not even joined the party. Someone who didn't have the balls to oppose Tinubu and contest for a second term. How can he win against Tinubu (if he gets the APC ticket)

Or are you just throwing around names?
