There is no fee for VFS use. Except paying for premium lounge which majority dont pay for and which is not compulsory.

Can someone please tell me if it's OKAY to book a hotel for my visa application even though my sister and her family live in the UK?
I plan to travel with my two kids and my mum.
My sister is in Birmingham with her family. It's taking time to get the required documents from her so I think I would rather book a hotel.
Can I book a hotel in London, or in Birmingham? I'm okay with either cities.
Do I have to write a letter explaining why I won't stay at her place?

It's same day, not a week. But I think it depends now. A week is too long.

You can book a hotel, No need to provide explanation. As long as she is not the one inviting you.

If you don't intend to stay with your sister or can't get her to send the required documents including detailed invitation letter, you are better off booking hotel and in any location of your choice. Is it your mums first time in UK? If so, It may seem weird that she's coming to UK and not planning to see her other daughter. If you weren't with your mum, I would have said go ahead and do your thing. But you can still go ahead with hotel nonetheless

9months after submission (renewal) and no word from tls. Several paid mails and visit to tls still no positive feedback.
Does it mean the passport is missing?

Who knows what step to take now?
I guess suing them is in order

You need your father's bank details please. My mum was refused because of this. She's retired too.

You can book a hotel. You do not need to explain why you are not staying with her. Instead, you can mention you intend to visit your sister during your stay (the additional information section of the form should be adequate for this) and this is if you intend to do so.

If it helps you, I have some family too in the Uk, and when I travel if I am not staying with them, I indicate that I intend to stay at a hotel or Airbnb wherever I am staying and I say this to the ECO. I also mention that I intend to visit my family.

You do not need your fathers bank statement since he is not the one sponsoring you, his invitation letter is okay since your main purpose purpose of travel is to visit him. you will need his bank statement only if he is the one sponsoring the trip

I got the question correct please. My mum was refused because pf this in Feb. 2022, this year! My husband and I are paying all her expenses. WE are the sponsors, yet they wanted to see HER OWN bank statement. It doesnt matter the balance on the account, please INCLUDE THE STATEMENT

Exactly, thanks for the confirmation. Her Dad is the one that wants to visit the UK from Nigeria. His bank statement is very necessary, His bank balance does not matter, because his family is sponsoring him. I wish I knew this when we applied for my mum last year. We live to learn though

Hi,

You should have received an email from "noreply@visas-immigration.service.gov.uk" when you paid. In that email there are links that can take you back to your application and from there you can access the TLS page where you will see the link to track your application.

Proof of funds in your parents, spouse or your account

Good evening house, today makes it 30 working days I did my biometric, and i mailed today , they replied and still say 'awaiting decision' am just tired and angry...I don't know what else to do this is my third time I mailed them.

Hello house, trying to fill a visit visa form for my wife and son. I observed that ,

1.previous address in the past 2 years is required even though he is less dan one and has only lived in one address.

2.it won’t let me move forward in the application if I don’t fill a figure in the (total amount planning to spend personally on the trip and total amount of money you spend monthly boxes) he is an infant with no earnings .



I need to know if there’s a separate application for children.

Our stats
1.I hold a ten year visit visa
2.wife has been refused 3 times mainly for flimsy excuses like deposits dt don’t correlate with her salary and one time I sponsored but didn’t include my business invoices and tax,biz details

We got married middle of 2021 most of her applications were before dt,only 1 since we got married
3. Our son was born sept 2021, i and wife took a trip to dubai together in dec 2021, wife took son on a work trip in April 2022. We plan on taking dis trip to Uk as our first vacation as a family, wife earns about a million naira monthly as a finance controller of a fmcg. But Becos of previous refusals I want to be the sole sponsor of the application.

My Questions
1. Is there a separate application form for kids,infants ?
2.does my wife need to include her bank statement even if I’m the sole sponsor of the application ?

3. What is the right thing to fill for the parts I circled in the image attached if someone else is sponsoring the application.

When you are completing the visa application and you want to save the application and return later, a link to the application is emailed to you. Find that link in your email and sign into your gov.uk account. Click on the link for providing biometrics, it takes you to the TLS website. You will see a link for tracking your application there.
