Olajide Aweni a resident in the United Kingdom made mention that,

“A 2 bedroom here in the UK will cost you between £750 and £1300 depending on the area that's around N562,000 and N975,000 per month. This is just RENT. Back home in Nigeria, that's the amount for a 3 bedroom in a good area."

"To survive here you will work. There is no evening bar here na work work work work. There are available jobs now. It's only if you are lazy that you will struggle here in the UK.

Get it right: Things are better here but you will not sit down and hope you will make it here. It depends on what you do and how well grounded you are sha."

Someone is paying 800k per year for a 1 bedroom flat here in a very good area in Nigeria.

A 2 bedroom goes for 650k to 700k per year in an averagely good area.

A 3 bedroom goes for 1.2 to 1.5m per year in an averagely here in Nigeria.

Nigeria is cheap

Op at least you make more than 100GBP per day from 2-3 jobs per day. That means within a week, you make your house rent for the month. Is still OK compare to Nigeria.

Yeah, and you can make as little as 300 to 400euro in a week.

The equation always balance with the jobs available there.

Nutshell, it is okay to stay in Nigeria due to the cost of living.

Yes if you aren’t lazy, you can combine 2-3 jobs per day, as stated by the resident.

Not really bro, he’s just telling you how high cost of living is over there and how you can live above that by doing multi-tasking jobs, if you aren’t lazy.

Sumtims I wonder why you would compare naira to dollar that way. Why would you convert dollar to naira in that manner? Saying it's cheaper dat way. I believe dollar only makes sense wen converted to naira. If not, it's d same value wit naira over here.

Cheap cost of Living+ poor quality life Vs Top notch Standard of living+higher cost of living....which is more important in this our short life?
Re: UK Cost Of Rent Per Month by Cousin9999: 8:16pm On Jun 02, 2022
This is a ridiculous question.

Furthermore, the cost of living varies considerably in the UK. Someone in the heart of London, and someone in the 'shires aren't paying the same. Some people also live in council estates.

Compare currency before converting currency to compare state of living.

Ireland says hello. Average rent of a 2bed is €1,567. Average rent of a 2bed in Dublin is €1,972. This is per month by the way. Yeah, rent's paid monthly here.

You guys will readily lament about your expenses but will keep mute about how much you make in a month.

there is a reason many Americans are travelling to Mexico and other south American countries, Thailand or even China, the reason is simple for cheaper cost of living, many of them understood that their dollar is worth more in those countries, they could earn 1k and live like a king there.

i love cheap places, low tax and good salary is all i care about.

Nigeria is cheap

If Nigeria is cheap, why do we have a huge chunk of people classed as poor.
The sticker price paid for an item means little. Relative affordability is important.

It’s not even about how cheap it is to live in Nigeria, the problem is no where the money is coming from for a layman in the country.

Nigeria is not cheap but expensive to Nigerians according to our earning power. It only cheap to outsiders with ten times our purchasing power.

Nigeria is more expensive to live in to an Average Nigerian, than America is to an average American.

Most cheap places are in average or poor countries but your money will be well spent.

Exactly... folks who have never stepped out of the country fail to understand that cheap is relative... They convert stuff in absolute terms and fail to factor in purchasing power and living standards which are more important.
The sticker price on an item is just a number. It means nothing until you put it in context.
