Good day, Everyone.

I am here to share my testimony so as to encourage others not to give up. I also read the success stories of others and learnt a lot and I am very excited to share mine with you all.

First Application - June 18, 2021
Refusal - Sept 21, 2021
Application for gcms notes - Sept 21,2021
Gcms notes received - Oct 27, 2021

Second Application - April 13, 2022
PPR - June 1, 2022

What did I do differently?
The refusal was based on two grounds - Purpose of my visit and Personal assets and financial status.
From the gcms notes, the rationale for those reasons were pointed out.

The first time, I did it all by myself. The second time, I decided this time around I needed the guidance of an expert to give it my best shot as I re-apply and so I contacted @justmellow of gcmswriters. website :www.gcmswriters.com and IG/Twitter/Telegram: @GCMSWriters handle. He is in deed an expert and can tackle refusal cases. He was my guide all through the process and he also wrote the two powerful write ups I submitted - The LOE and SOP.

For my first reason of Purpose of visit, that was tackled through the wonderful compelling write ups. The VO made an error by concluding that my choice of program and previous study and employment history had no correlation. That was wrong. My program was perfectly in line with my employment history and that was spelt out clearly in the LOE submitted.

For the second reason that has to do with financial status and personal assets, a lot of work had to be done here on this serious issue for about 6 months. That was from October 2021 till April 2022, I tell you, a whole lot of work really had to be done to build my financial status so that a better financial representation can submitted this time around. My bank accounts had to run for 6 months, from October all the way to April to give a better outcome. More assets and investments had to be put into the application. Investments, business and employment documents and so on were put in plus the outstanding letter of re-consideration that was very mind blowing and technical.

This time around, I applied as Self sponsored and did not use "third party sponsor" as I did in the first application.

I tackled every point written by the VO in my gcms notes and left no stone unturned with the help of the exceptional guide who helped me all the way.
When it was time to submit, he went through the final compilation and vetted, certified it good to go and I submitted it myself via my GCkey account.

To cut the long story short, I got the wonderful news on June 1, 2022. I am so excited. I am very happy I didn't give up and decided to re-fire. The truth is - I was very discouraged and almost gave up but I am happy I gave a shot and a better one at that the second time.

I give God the glory for making this a reality. And I want to encourage you all not to give up. Many got theirs on the 2nd and 3rd attempts. Just apply for your gcms notes to get a clearer picture and the exact red flags pointed out and give it another shot. Don't give up, just believe God, put in your best, get all the professional guidance you can get and it will come out successful. Wishing you all the very best.
Glory to God!!!

Hi,

Yes, University Canada west, Vancouver does. No GRE needed, you don’t need to have a business first degree. Tuition 2023 is about 38,700 cad.Good to know that Vancouver is pricey to live in compared to many other parts of Canada.

Cheers

LONGGGGGG POST ALERT!!!

Guys I really do not know where to start from!
I'm short of words. God's just too good to fail.
I'm still in shock cause I can't really fathom why my application was this quick or why I was just favoured, but I give God all the glory! For he alone is to be praised!

I've been following this thread for about 4yrs now. Just observing with no plans to submit my application. Was just here for the information basically, and to read people's process (which I enjoyed doing) didn't even know I'd eventually apply.

Time came for me to apply, I was scared to the Bone! I was scared to doing it myself! My sponsor (brother) literally begged me to look for an Agent to handle my application, I was skeptical at first, but I succumbed cause I didn't want any issue or stories that touch.

I contacted an agent on this platform, he charged me 150K for admission and 250K for Visa. My sponsor agreed to pay for the first stage (admission). Las las I eventually paid 190K for only admission!!! Only school admission ohhh!!!

Then it was time for Visa Application, and I was told Visa Fee has increased to 300K. And I was like hell No!!! I no go school? Am I daft? No! I can do this shi# myself. 300K no be 300 naira.

That's how it began, took a leap of faith and decided to do and handle my Visa Process myself, and God blessed me with the GOLDEN Mail (PPR)! Guys please do this stuff yourself!
You can do it! Yes YOU! You can!
There's nobody else that cares about your application than you! You don't need any agents NAIRALAND is the real deal! NAIRALAND taught me everything I know and used to get my Approval.

I'm a FIRST TIME APPLICANT, my timeline goes thus, I used the NEW PORTAL,

Upfront Medicals - 22nd November 2021
Application Submitted - 29th November 2021
Biometrics Completed - 3rd December 2021 (updated same day)
Upfront Medicals Updated - 6th December 2021
Then the wait........................^_^
Eligibility Review Started - 25th January 2022
Then a good man, a blessing, friend turned brother, a brother from another mother, Teemenzo (God bless you for me brother, he has always been with me from the beginning of my application) adviced me to send a mail to Abuja which I did, I eventually, reluctantly sent to everybody (London, Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja) yesterday, 26th of January just to disturb then. LANDING GIST

Read about the guy that travelled early here after confirming from CBSA and decided to give it a shot. Got Visa in February, missed January and my MBA didn't have a May start date. The long wait was tiring and I was like I might as well leave. Booked BA for June 1st. Got to the airport by 4am and was greeted with Cancelled Flight. Our info were taken and the normal Nigeria back and forth. BA lodged us at Transcorp Hilton and Sheraton Hotels Abuja. The room was huge and it was breakfast, Lunch and Dinner inclusive; all buffet. Food was good, the varieties was top notch...

4.30am June 2nd, BA bus was ready to take us to the airport, the portals brought our luggages to the bus and by 6am we were at the airport. Probably because of the number of people that came in same time, my luggages weren't checked by immigration. Was asked what was inside and I just said clothes and more clothes.

Bags were checked and everything sorted and my onward journey was booked ahead. Documents requested for by BA in Nigeria were;
-International passport
-ArriveCan and
-Covid Vaccination card...

Immigration cleared me and collected offerings x 2, It didn't matter though but I guess I was just feeling generous cos they weren't forceful, just friendly. Let me add that Abuja airport is clean clean and very organized.

Flight was delayed for 45mins, connecting flight was 3hrs differential. We got to Heathrow on time though despite the delay and I proceeded to the gate for Montreal (I didn't have a transit Visa and I didn't need one). BA breakfast was a mess though....Document asked for in London;
-International passport
-Boarding Pass

Connecting was easy though. So left London and got to Montreal in 6hrs 15mins. The flight was short and meal was better but all on my mind was immigration.

I was directed to Immigration at Montreal after electronically filling the declaration form. I printed my number at immigration and before I could catch a breather, boom my number was called. The officer showed me a list posted on the wall and said to bring those. When I saw School fees payment receipt, I was like Mogbe o lol. I didn't pay school fees before visa cos my school nor too like refunds so school fees wasn't compulsory and no deposit was required. I wanted to pay before leaving Nigeria but them say this year fees will be updated June. So what to do?

The immigration list at Montreal pasted on the wall were;
International passport/visa
Declaration form(U will get it in Canada)
Acceptance letter
School fees payment.

Letter of introduction was not there but I added mine. Since I didn't have school.fees receipts, I added the letter of confirmation from my school stating students are not required to pay school fees and the email that said updated fees for 2022/2023 will be available in June (please, am a high risk taker o, go with tuition or school fees receipt)

He asked how much I had with me; I said 1000USD (I paid for my house already, and didn't want to take much cash for security reasons only), he was like; is that what you plan to pay your school fees with, I was like No o, so I brought my newly printed bank statement. Was at the bank May 30th to get it. So he asked how much is that in CAD, I subconsciously said over $28,000 and he was like go and sit down. I sha went back to my seat o, calculated and saw it was more than $28,000. I was Sha calm and fired prayer small lol. Less than 5mims he called me and was like ;You are good to go. He gave me my passport and documents and I saw the student permit with it. I vanished immediately before I hear excuse me pls smiley Everything took less than 15mins; So fast!

He didn't ask why I came earlier, he didn't talk much. Just the requirement placed on the wall. Everything was super smooth. My last flight took me to my destination with a friend already waiting for me. I rented my place while in Nigeria and we drove straight home.

Note:
Although I didn't pay school.fees cos of my school and personal reasons cos one UK school is still owing me 3000pounds till date but please if u are travelling, even if you got your Visa without school fees, try and pay no matter how small cos I was shocked to see it as a requirement pasted on the wall.

BA was pretty short, 6hrs to London, 6.15hrs to Montreal (different from what was on d booking sheet) Then 3hrs+ between the two trips.

Ehen, I read alot that Tecno phones don't work here but my Tecno battery is like power bank so I couldn't risk leaving it, and it's been working so well with WIFi, I have Sha not tried it with Sim card. As for charging devices, am using a Universal Charger.

The rule of travelling a month before study has changed. One can travel as soon as your visa is ready but I chose 3months cos for UK, it's 3months prior to your study. I wanted to be on the safer side; Calculated risk.

Sadly I don't have access to my nairaland email but will be happy to answer all questions here.

To those waiting for their PPR...Good news is on the way...and for those planning their trips, I wish you safe Journey and smooth sailing.

Canada is presently warm and beautiful and their cooked meals are eatable...Can't wait to have y'all here...Cheers

Don't listen to the agent, abeg relax and wait for the GCMS notes. Canada is not running away. You might be shocked to see that proper response and documentation could give you ppr in days and not months. So please enjoy now and have the best application once the notes are available.

Although you didn't provide sufficient information about your proposed course of study but I can say with 60% assurance that your $35k cannot be enough to run a two year course. It may be enough for a one year course though.

Your tuition fee for the 2 year could be around $25k and $35k+.

How do you want to show living expenses which is $10k per year at minimum? You need to show $20k for two years to be on a safe side.

How do you want to cater for miscellaneous expenses?

These are the questions you need to address.

Hello Chief,

My Dad plans to sponsor me with like 25m and 5m in fixed deposits. Does he necessarily have to liquidate these funds and send like $40k for living expenses and fees to my personal acct for POF? Or he can just do a notarized sponsorship letter together with statement of accounts?

P.S: My personal account closing bal isn't so great but I can get it up to 1-2m with proper explanation.

Bro, you are the first person I will hear say it's easier to get any category of Canadian visa than the UK equivalent and I don't think that's true. Any category of application is easier to get with UK but it's more expensive.

You see all these 4 months statement of account and lump sum scrutiny that Canada does, UK don't do that. It is why people will borrow the lump sum POF for UK, leave it in the account for about 30 days that is required, print statement and submit their application.

All these home tie that we have to proof beyond reasonable doubt with Canada does not occur with UK application. Same as all the truck load of documents that we have to submit to proof ourselves for Canada.

Drawbacks for UK for me are:

1. The application fee is expensive. Visa and IHS fee is over a million in total.

2. There's no smooth path to permanent residency after post study visa in UK unlike Canada.

3. Also, UK doesn't appeal to me like North America does.

Canada's pathway to permanent residency is smoother but to scale the hurdle of Visa approval from Nigeria isn't, including that of family application or SOWP.

Do not base your conclusion on the family application testimonies you read here. It's about ratio of successful application to the number of applications in total. And UK grants more without people having to pass through the eye of a needle.

The guy is obviously very intelligent, but his experience with Canada may not be that strong. I smiled at his reply and moved. Those who read the thread will definitely know facts from opinions. Na those wey no read well I pity. They can easily fall for one off answers and posts.

Good evening family and friends I got a refusal sometime last year. I wanted to reapply again but decided to order my note. I submitted two SOA. The first money appeared at the beginning of the statement I didn't touch the money until the statement was printed. But had inflow and outflow while the major money was untouched. the second account came in as my arrears. But as a lump sum. I show the proof of where the money came in from. Please house what went wrong and what is the next move.

You need a strong letter of explanation supported with evidence of employment from you and your sponsor. Having money in the account is not sufficient for IRCC. You need to show where the money came from. The visa officer should be able to determine that the balance is not ridiculous compared to the income source. For the letter of explanation, check out other post from successful applicants for LOE structure they used. These structure can give you an idea of what to include in yours. Thanks and all the best.

Hello good evening guys. Please I need your counsel on the issue below.
My friend had PhD admission at University of Alberta. He used the services of an agent for the TRV application. Initially, all seemed to be going well because he had medical request and subsequent PPR.
He was looking forward to get his passport when shoot he got a refusal letter from IRCC stating that the bank statement of his sponsor submitted as part of his application was fraudulent. Hence, he has been banned for 5 years. As we speak now, the passport is still with IRCC.
Please what is the best way to address this issue?
And how can this ban be lifted from his application?

Is the statement fake or genuine. I suspect it is fake. You person probably thought the agent mean well when s/he said "don't worry about the statement. I will arrange it." If this is true, no Canada for your person for the next 5 years be that. Unfortunately, no court will overturn a justifiable ban.

For the passport, s/he can contact IRCC though webform and email for an update.

Let the person also know it will be hard for him to get visa in US, UK, Australia and New Zealand because they share visa information with Canada. If he applies to these countries and not disclose the ban, it will likely be automatically ban from those country too.

Hi,

Yes, University Canada west, Vancouver does. No GRE needed, you don’t need to have a business first degree. Tuition 2023 is about 38,700 cad.Good to know that Vancouver is pricey to live in compared to many other parts of Canada.

Cheers.

Thank you.
