My wife and I were given Lebara sim cards at the visa centre in Abuja. We inserted them in our phones when we landed at Heathrow and there was little airtime with over 6gb of data.

lookingfly:
seems there is free WiFi at airports, how did you post this? Congratulations for finally japaing from this futureless naija.

After spendiing 5 nights in the first Airbnb, we moved into this place today. We have actually gotten a house but the previous tenants recently moved out and the owner needs to do a little painting and some other little stuff before we can move in.

You are yearning dust. It never ever gets dark before 6pm in the UK. How can you say it starts to get dark by 3pmhuh And you must be high on cheap drugs to say that it starts to get bright around 8 or 9 am in November/December. WTF!!!

Darkness starts by like 6 in the evening and it gets bright by 6am in the morning. Only in the summer does it stay bright till about 8pm and gets bright around 5 in the morning. Stop reading on the internet and travel to get real life experience before opening mouth waaaaa to talk wetin you no know angry
Both of you are saying the same thing.

Remember one dude like that here with his anti-japa threads. The day he finally got his international passport, he came to nairaland with a celebratory thread.

Try and be civil in a public space and even in private. You are an adult and should behave like one. You don't have to be confrontational to pass your message. You are not a kid throwing tantrums.

Besides, the guy is right. I have witnessed day time till even past 11pm in London (summer of 2018).

My broda the level of insecurity currently is nothing to write home about. I am from Anambra but lived in Abuja, I can say Abuja only seems a little safe at the moment but may not be for a long time. I had funerals and celebrations around Easter in my home town but I would not dare travel. I come from same town with Governor Soludo, you should know what that area currently is like with regards to insecurity.

Nigeria is currently really fraustrating, January/February you know what is like with fuel, my gen set in Abuja is 25 ltrs and sometimes I run it all night @ 350 per ltr of fuel cos of heat and no AEDC power. Abeg the fraustration in Nigeria can make you grow old too early. Nigeria don cast abeg... Inflation nko?

How many issues are we even going to talk about. I did this for my family and I am glad I can do it now b4 story enters....

Yes Student route. I got admission with Salford University, Manchester. I did the application and visa processing myself. You can find agents to do it for you if you have no time to go through all the readings grin grin grin. The school was quiet helpful during the overall admission and visa process. Subscribe to my channel, I will putting out videos soon on how we got here. At the moment we trying to sort out accomodation and school induction so I don't have much time now. I will cool down and make those videos maybe from next week.

See page 9 of this thread for my short answer pls

Mcslize:
Op according to one of your 2020 posts, it seems like you were once anti-japa , team Nigeria is better folk? What made you later change your mind? Just curious what must have prompted your relocation interest.

Besides congrats first!

But we need explanation of why you later decided to relocate when Nigeria has always been a paradise on earth. Why relocated when you have always had the notion that you can enjoy more peaceful living in Nigeria than moving abroad.

Any reason for your change of mind?

I've subscribed right away and even press d notification bell. Pls like what's the cost per person?
Re: Nairalander And His Family Travelling To The UK For The First Time. by 9jaHustler(op): 1:27am On Jun 02, 2022
Well the cost for the main applicant/student is different from that of dependants. Main applicant pays school fees deposit of £5,500, every other person including main applicant will pay visa fees $475 and Health Insurance of $961 each.

You will also need to show you have certain amount of money for upkeep per person and balance of school fees all in your bank account for a 28 day period.

I will have to confirm the exact cost of upkeep and any other money related stuff including Tuberculosis test etc.

Infact my first video on this will be on How Much the total package will cost. Hopefully video will be out by weekend.

Hey guys, it's our first time ever outta Naija. Currently at Heathrow Airport waiting for connecting flight to Manchester which is our final destination.

Update: It was almost 9:30pm when we left Manchester Airport but it was like 5pm in Nigeria. Everywhere was still day. I though my wrist watch was incorrect until I check the dash board clock of the taxi
You have done the best thing for your family

Covid don japa.

We had already completed our second dose of the vaccine since last December but we did not do any covid test prior to travelling and no body asked us anything about covid not even for proof of vaccination.

The BA crew gave us nose masks while we boarded and that was all.
