Kudos to everyone keeping this page running and to those sharing their experiences as well.

I was a huge beneficiary of this page last year as it taught me a lot about how to approach my visa application and helped with my settling down. It has been 10 months since I moved to the UK and I am having a swell time. I want to encourage everyone who is in the process of relocating for academic purposes as well. It is sometimes a long journey filled with anxiety, stress, fear, and suffering. But it is worth it in the long run. I pray your journey will be smooth without hiccups.

Asking for a friend:
In her previous UK visit visa application (which was refused), the agent only filled her most recent work experience - 2019 to 2021 whereas there are previous ones starting from 2015 when she finished schooling but the agent chose not to fill them in.

Going forward, in her proposed student visa application, would it be appropriate to include those previous work experiences so as to show that she hadn't been idle prior to the 2019 job thereby showing genuinty of intent as a foreign student? In my opinion, this was part of the reason her visit visa application wasn't successful.

On another hand, should she stick to that ONLY ONE work experience as held by UKVI? NB: There will be a 3-4 year study/work gap if she settles for this.

Your kind thoughts will be highly appreciated.

Documents submitted - offer letter, passport, Academic recpmmendation letter from my former lecturer, Affidavit (i had name spelling descrepancies), WAEC, TB certificate (which was to expire 9th of may..i was scared about that), Bank Statement and undergraduate certificate.

Transfered to DMC - same day

No NSF mail

Collection mail - 7th june (tuesday)


I picked up my passport yesterday (8th june) with the vignette sitting pretty.

Wrong advice! So the POF date will not be related to visa application date which is the date that shows applicant had the money for 28 full days before applying??

You people that dish these advise need to be sure of what you say before you mislead innocent applicants oooo.

Please wait for that complete 28days BEFORE you pay for visa and IHS. People have been denied student visa for paying before the 28days mark please don’t be impatient. It’s very important!

Did you read what I typed well?

The person can print his pof till date.. eg. If the person printed from 1st of May to 28 or 29 of May before .. the person can still print from 1st of May till date .

Since it was written at least 28 days hence it can be more than 28 days but not lesser ..


You can aswell advise yours too.

But this is wickedness from ukvi , after waiting for 5 weeks and 3 days for june intake , applied for biometrics since april, i got an email from Sheffield 2 days ago to provide additional documents for study gap . I immediately sent them my employment letter and even a reference letter from my current place of work. My question now is will i have to wait for another 6 weeks ?? as they did not state in the mail it will take more time, they only just requested for additional document. If so why wait until the 5th week to mail me for additional documents. I hope they honor the 6 weeks , because my school resumed monday. I am so tired . � . Any idea how long this wait will take?

Quickly goto the bank you enrolled your BVN, and tell the customer care you want to do BVN profile update. Fill the form a beg tell whoever that attend to you the urgency so he/she can submit for you ontime. Then pray NIBSS updates it swiftly, if everything goes well, try after 24hours, you should receive your OTP.

After waiting 28 for my POF to mature, do I have to wait another 28 days for another POF maturity for visa?? Please Indulge me if it has already been addressed.

I'm asking cuz people here have been talking about waiting for your POF to mature before visa and ihs payment and I'm wondering if it's not a normal thing cuz if you already did your POF in order to get your CAS, I'm sure filling your CAS sheild,getting your CAS and filling visa form should already have added extra days to your POF maturity, or am I wrong??

How many years study gap did you have? You are very active here so I expect that you would have covered these areas.

If you haven't heard from them in 15days chase up with paid mail, 15days max should be your benchmark

Hello,

No, you only need to prepare for your visa application.
That scenario is for Uni's that don't request for bank statement before issuing CAS.

If yours do,then just print and apply for your visa once your CAS is ready.
