PTSD... I think we all have an element of it after a bad experience. After my phone was snatched right in front of my house in 2018, I'm now fidgety whenever I'm approaching my doorstep. I stare suspiciously at everybody passing by and hold my bag tighter to my chest.

I've still not gotten over it.

Give it time you will get over the anxiety. I had the same panic attacks ever night years back when my laptop was stolen exactly same way, because I usually work on it till I sleeps off so the Idiot used a long stick with the help of the charging cord was able to pull it through the window.

its fear developed from the occurrence of a past event.

So your room no get protector, that is wat i hate most

It's called PTSD. Post traumatic stress disorder and you need to get over it. I had it ones but I treated it by convincing myself there's nothing worth dying for in this world. If the phone loss I go buy another one, life continues. If you wake up and start looking for your phone just stop and go back to sleep. After several tries you will finally overcome the disorder.

I charged the phone, when i woke up around 3am the phone was fully charged. I unplugged it and keep it on my bed.

In the morning with a sleepy eyes i touched everywhere on my bed for it i couldn't found it.

The sleep just left my eyes immediately that's when i realized it is gone

I will advise you see a psychologist. I honestly think this is not about the phone alone. Something might have happened in the past that you didn’t heal from and this event is triggering it.

Yes! I agree that this is PTSD ( Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) but the phone loss is not the only cause.

You need to go down memory lane and heal from your past. Perhaps you were severely dealt with by your parents when you lost something during your childhood days. And this created a fear of your losing any belonging.

So any thing you loose anything belonging or personal effect, it triggers it all over again.

This is my take. I stand corrected.

Not only you. Same thing happened to my last Friday/Saturday morning. D thief cut my window net like yours and entered d room, though I slept in sitting room but d moment he stepped into d sitting room, I woke up and saw a strange figure. I shouted ' Iwo wo niyen' meaning who you be. I started screaming thief thief, na so he escaped through the window. That was when I saw a wide opening from my window. Fortunately for me, he couldn't steal anything from me. Anytime I wake up in d night, na so so window I dey check dey look outside

Similar thing has happened to me. While I was serving in a community, an unknown man who we later knew his identity was always peeping me through the window in the middle of the night. Imagine waking up and someone is at the window. He was found out and sacked from his work. Untill I left the community, once I woke up, my eyes goes to the window. Even after I had left and gone to a new location, window is the first place I look at once I woke up. After a while it stopped but the experience mehn is something else.
It will eventually stop for you, give it time.

go and buy iron mesh that is used for construction at building material market and use it as protector for your window.

You have to realize that nothing could be saved by the multitude of its army, and that a might man cannot be delivered by his real strength.

Keep your phone safe to the best of your ability and worry less about it.

Sorry dear...I experience such too. This guy never know the trauma they cause people.
I am a strong guy emotionally, but still for sometime after the incidence, I do have nightmare and wake up in the middle of the night. The reason isn't really because my girlfriend phone was stolen (we were asleep together the night), but because I realised how vulnerable one -no matter how strong- could be during sleep. I wonder, that if the person had meant to harm me physically by stabbing me, shooting me or pouring me acid, they could easily do it. I also felt for my girl, that people can even snap her unclothedness in the middle of the night.
I moved within few months from the area and since come to convince myself, that top floors in storey buildings is the safest. That's what I got for myself now
