Good evening...

Anyone for KEYANO College? Hopefully come September, I should be there. I will be needing a 2 bedroom apartment or townhouse.

Does anyone have an idea on how I can progress with getting an accommodation while still in Nigeria?

Will appreciate a feedback from anyone who can be of help. Thanks
Congratulations, I really do not know if you can get an accommodation before landing, I assume you would love to inspect any prospective rental property before committing.
However, you can land, get an AirBnB for a week, use that week to search for a house.
If by any chance you arrive by August, I will give you a ride from the Airport (if you need one), I can also take you around town while you search for a house.

I'm sorry the September won't work for me cus am leaving Fort McMurray on the 1st for a different province.

Hello guys,

I'm trying to book a flight to Toronto. On wakanow I saw good prices on Egypt air, however, wakañow says I can't book a one way ticket on Egypt air. . The reason given is that the airline requires a return ticket.

Has anyone experienced this? I know Egypt air appears to be one of the favourable airlines for our people here.

Please any advise/ input will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Why not book on Egypt air website? Or go to their office and book.

the thing weak my soul. I settled for CIA usa, heard some people are doing CPA new york. There are not enough new cpas in the country since they blocked the ACCA route. Keep applying for jobs regardless of the CPA. You only need one offer.

Thanks jare. I kuku already have a job, just that I’ll eventually need a professional designation to advance to the level I aspire to. My employer reimburses the exam fees anyway, na to read book be the problem. Back when I was dusting ICAN in one sitting, I was a single young professional and had all the time in the world, husband and pickin don enter the equation now, the matter just tire me.

I use rynga. Transfer in their website and buy credit, download the app. Then call naija numbers using the app. I've been using Rynga for more than 10 years, there might be other newer and cheaper apps by now I've not checked because I'm happy with Rynga

Why not book on Egypt air website? Or go to their office and book.

Booking on the website isn't working. I can't select departure and arrival city. that one suprise me. And I'm in the East, I don't think they have an office in this part of Nigeria.

I couldn't book directly on their website and the app was asking for dollar payment so I used Wakanow to book them instead. Just search for the route you want to use and pick the date you like and I'm sure Egyptair will come up as long as they fly that route.

Good day guys. Just landed in North York as a PR. I'm currently in Airbnb till the end of the month but I was hoping to to get some tips on how to get survival jobs and accommodation. Any tips would be appreciated. Please I already know about kijiji and rentals.ca. I mean like "don't live in Ajegunle or Iloabuchi down" or "you should be looking for an apartment that has heater etc etc" and "run from ogoaja work". Any advice will be appreciated. Strictly survival jobs cos I'm already fed up of my old job type and I hope to transition into tech by January. Thanks in advance.

Of course, you should be looking for an apartment that has a heater. You wan make Toronto cold hammer you? Lol.
Welcome to canada! smiley
North York is a good area for an immigrant. I don't know if there's any area there that isn't good. Toronto is not really like Lagos. I think a good advice is to find a roommate, because that way the rent could be more affordable. You can easily find a roommate in North York and pay less than $1000 for a very good 2-bed apartment. You may also want to consider Etobicoke, which is also a good area to stay in, I believe.

For survival jobs, go register yourself with the many employment agencies present around. There are a lot of them downtown and in Mississauga. You may be able to find a job quickly with these guys.

On transitioning into tech, I just wanted to let you know it's very possible. I have a handful of friends who have done this successfully. It may not be easy, but it is very possible. That's probably what you should focus o, the fact that it is very possible. A good starting point may be getting enrolled in many of the certificate programs in the top universities. Make sure to pick something you are comfortable with from the start and not keep experimenting about wasting your time.

Good luck!

In London, Ontario daycare is free, when my wife arrived Canada with our 4month old she was given free child care Monday to Friday at any day care of her choice even tho she didn’t have a Job at the time.

Child care case workers in London respond fast. The process took a week….the most important thing is securing a day care facility where your child will be enrolled in.

Contact: childcare@london.ca
For further assistance goto LUSO community service they’ll assist you.

God bless you good Sir, I appreciate, Thanks alot

I am ICAN and recently got my CPA Canada.

Had to start from core 1. Took me 18 months. I will say just start.

You can send me an email and I am happy to connect with you.

Anyone here going through the foreign trained accountant route to CPA? I’ve read the website back to back and know the requirements and all that but would love to relate with someone already going through the program or intends to. I have a B.Sc in Accounting and ICAN but I’d not yet completed ACCA when the MOU expired. The thought of going through exams again and the cost is just making me weak but sadly, it is what it is.

Back to my initial question, anyone here? Let’s reason together Biko. I’m in Ontario

Yeah. One way or Return? They have a clause on wakanow that you have to book return on Egypt air.

I booked one-way. You can always try to book using the Egyptair app if you have access to USD then pay with a USD debit card or Batter by Flutterwave.

You have to change the location on the app to Nigeria to book. I experienced the same until the CS at their office directed me.

I booked on the app and made payment at their office. The exchange is 444 to 1USD.

You can book and call them or send an email. They will give you an account number to pay and send your ticket via email.

EMAIL: ABUJA_TO@EGYPTAIR.COM

On the side, you can book to take off from Lagos because I noticed that Lagos prices are cheaper compared to Abuja.

Hello, Nigeria is not on the list of countries. Should I just book and then call their CS to ask for account details?

Is not a problem as long as you selected the right Airport to take off from.

Yes, you can.
