Zeewirld:the HQ of most financial institutions are in Toronto and environs. Setting up of business is not location dependent too. GTA and envrons are a good option but be ready to spend a huge part of your salary on rent and living expenses. 6 Likes |

angrybutsane: Go to TD Bank career page, they are constantly recruiting customer service folks. Also, apply to government jobs; start with CRA, CBSA, ESDC etc. but you would need to be patient as their recruitment timeline is long. The link to find government job is https://emploisfp-psjobs.cfp-psc.gc.ca/psrs-srfp/applicant/page2440?classificationInfos=&locationsFilter=&selectionProcessNumber=&officialLanguage=&title=&tab=1&search=Search%20jobs&department=129&departments=&log=false 14 Likes 10 Shares |

Hi Guys, Does anyone know much about medical insurance in Canada and options for parents, and how this works? • Does one has to be a permanent resident or citizen before getting medical insurance coverage for dependent parents, or can these be done by a temporary resident child who is still a student or a Canadian graduate under the Post Graduate Work Permit? • Is it possible for parents to also be entitled to the government Medicare card? If the answer is yes, how does this work? I would appreciate the thoughts of anyone who knows much about getting medical insurance coverage for parents. 1 Like |

olasubomy: Unless your parents are PR, they don’t qualify for the government insurance. But they can get other private insurance. Check Manulife , they have some for visitors 1 Like |

Hi guys Please which network provider would you recommend upon landing in Canada? |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by miolad20(m): 8:00pm On Jun 01, 2022 |
There are many to choose from, however, consider network coverage and price. You can also shop around as there are usually good deals available. You can use https://www.whistleout.ca/CellPhones to check and compare prices too. Made the below video itemizing things to do in the first few days of landing in Canada - with tips you can find helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfjUNHWxyu0 canadaishome: 8 Likes 1 Share |

Goodday, please anyone with experience on the situation below please share your view. 1. Family COPR/Visa issued 18 May 2022 2. However, my child's US passport expires on Dec 26, 2022 3. I intend to travel end of July,2022 and by this time the passport will have less than six months validity 4. If I renew my child's US passport, will it nullify the COPR ( which has the previous passport number on it) and give issue at airport or border in Canada. 1 Like |

Travelpes: You can travel with that passport since the visa has already been issued. Renew the passport when you get to Canada. 4 Likes |

My people God has finally answered our prayers and given us PPR after several years of trying. We will be moving to ontario in August. Is there any agent I can talk to for house hunting? I am lost on this. I like GTA/ kitchener. I am open to any suggestion and help bikonu. 18 Likes |

Amandacanny: Do you have any support system in Canada (someone you can stay with for 2weeks)? if no, I will suggest you book an Airbnb for two weeks. When you land, you can start the house hunting process. Some recent trends in the GTA housing market: 1. Most landlords will request for a 4-6months rent in advance cos you are new to Canada and without any credit history. 2. The average rent ranges from 1,500 - 3,000 cad depending on the type of house to want. You can talk to this person, she's a realtor in the GTA axis: Bolawa Oni +1 416-917-4036 IG handle: @realtorbolawa 10 Likes 3 Shares |

Ontario is a good place. You can stay in either Brampton or Missisagua. You can stay in an AirBnB for about 2-3 weeks while looking for n accommodation. I have one available for shortlet in Brampton. London/Kitchener are also good places to settle, but are further from Toronto where most of the offices are. Congratulations. Amandacanny: 1 Like 1 Share |

I met someone today who clearly denied his nationality... When your accent, looks clearly shows Nigerian. We met at a wear store in Toronto, we interacted and ask him his background and he denied his nationality straight up and said 'he's from the caribbean, which his actually from Nigeria. I told him I'm a Nigerian and we exchanged number Initially I knew this guy is a Nigerian and his whatsapp picture gave me double assurance. But the issue is why are Nigerians in diaspora denying their origin? Majority of Nigerian living oversea has messed up and tarnished the issue of Nigeria. This people misused precious opportunities giving to them by the oyinbos. Now we will be lamenting on the government back home, is the govt the problem here again? People will hardly give you regards here as a Nigerian. Nigerians are known for cheap scams. The girls will never wanna date you as a Nigerian. In Italy, landlords will never want to rent you their house once they discover you are a Nigerian. In dubai, no job for Nigerians, its hard to get one In SA, they are known for drugs and all sort of rubbish. Infact all the country in the world won't want to associate once they knew you are a Nigerian, even some African countries Yet we kept on blaming the government. Even the ones back home has spoiled the country image internationally. Calling her Zoo and all sort. Are Nigerians abroad doing any better? NO These people need to change their ways. It's not few Nigerians, but Majority. 3 Likes |

oluayebenz:you met one guy and you are generalizing I have met several Nigerians on the road, in the mall, train, at work etc. none has denied being a Nigerian. Do you know if the guy in question used a carribean passport to enter Canada . Have you been to LinkedIn of recent ,many Nigerians have been promoted to director, manager and senior manager in uk, usa and Canada. You no see that one o. Indians are behind most of the scams in Canada but why dont they use it against them. Most of the people causing wahala for Nigerians abroad travelled illegally and are doing shitty things. Canada carefully selects the kind of immigrants it takes ( minus the asylum guys who crossed over from usa) Most of them are facing their jobs and not causing wahala. U can see the rubbish happening in uae , its because they allowed every tom dick and harry. Make we dey calm down lol 30 Likes |

ednut1: Mr Ednut.... I have met several Nigerians too, this one in particular shock me. I have a friend that experience this before which I was wondering if that is possible. The guy is a full blood Nigerian. The thing pained me to the bone marrow, like htf will somebody denied his background. Meanwhile I asked where in carribbean but stuttering set in immediately, till we move on To those doing good, they are minority. We just need to be sincere with what is going on in obodo oyinbo. |

oluayebenz:this is not true. Stop lumping all countries together. The kind of Nigerians in Canada are mostly not same with those in malaysia, cyprus, south africa, uae etc. some Nigerians are doing good in those countries too, while some are doing bad . Russians, north koreas, indians are into scams and crime, why are their people not judged 16 Likes |
