Have you applied before and got denied? Looks to me that it's saying you declared your previous refusal.

Every other thing I see is positive since your eligibility has been recommended as passed. They might likely send you a medical request since your medical has expired.

Congrats in advance are in order. Keep praying that senior officer don't overturn this positive.

This the second application.

Have you been denied a Canadian visa in the past?
From my own perspective I would take ;
TH: Travel History.
CAN refusal declared : would mean you answered yes when answering the question ; have you been denied a Canadian visa in the past.
Lastly as you can see it is noted under pre-assesment note. Which mostly likely means this are info you must have given them when you submitted your online application.
Please note that this is from my own view and I am not 100% sure if it is correct or not.

Thanks so much for your input. I appreciate

Does this mean that when the Case Analyst starts to work on your file, then eligibility review has started? Or it starts when the senior officer starts work.
Which is which pls

Onweke:
Far too many times, prospective applicants applicants ask me questions relating to this topic.

In this post, I will carefully address the real issues and meaning behind "Recommend Interview". I hope every participant on this platform makes the most of the information below.

Kindly be advised that every immigration applications submitted to IRCC are reviewed by at least two levels of people:

1. *Program Case Analyst:*

Most of the time, it's the Program Case Analyst who does the initial R-10 check that often positions certain applications on "Recommend Interview". They review all information present on file and can only make recommendations as per the applicant's circumstance - i.e, recommended interview (RI), review required (RR), recommended refusal/eligibility failed (EF). The Program Case Analyst may also be able to refuse some ill-equipped applications due to poor documentation.

*Reason for Recommend Interview;*

The eligibility status - "Recommend Interview" is mostly common when the Program Case Analyst has certain concerns about the submission of the applicant for an immigration application to Canada.

This is largely due to some irregularities on the applicant's employment reference letter and inability to verify applicant's work experience, ineligible financial documents to cover for the applicant's proposed program and upkeep in Canada, and in some cases due to salaries being paid by cash at applicant's place of work.

2. *Senior Immigration Officer*

The Senior immigration officer (visa officer) will then review the notes and assessments of the program case analyst and make the final decision, this also includes whether or not an interview is required. If an interview is necessary to continue processing your application, the status would change to "interview required". However, since the inception of the COVID-19 pandemic, IRCC have not been conducting interviews for prospective applicants both for work permit, spousal sponsorship, parents sponsorship and some other PR applications. In view of the foregoing, an immigration officer may disregard a recommended interview and subsequently grant an approval.

My observations;

I have reviewed several GCMS notes as of recent and in the past and I have come to understand that majority of applicant's with "Recommend Interview" as the current eligibility assessment on their GCMS notes are later in the visa process approved by the Senior Immigration Officer.

Although, in a few cases, some applications may be rejected due to the limited knowledge on the applicant's part to address the initial concerns. This also stems from the fact that the format is not clearly spelled out by the immigration authorities.

This is not much of a bother you know, i would recommend you check properly for the pre-assessment notes/comments which can be found on the page 2 or the last two pages of the Gcms notes.

Long Post and testimony time!!!!

Been on Nairaland for more than 5yrs - it started with the US birth trend, of which I was denied a visa twice when I wanted to birth to my son in 2018, I took time off from the Japa struggle, and 2020/ 2021 started again on another UK Student Visa trend, after everything I was denied twice again, I cried my eyes out, am like " e bi like say my head no travel out of this country" told God he was not fair to me, after all my struggle, he could not even pity me because of my kids and answer my UK visa plans. I gave up, faced my work, and invested my money in some properties.
I met a friend who encourage me again, and advised I don't give up. i told him I was going to think about it, in my mind am like this one does not know am done with all this wahala.
after a rethink, took a step of faith, got admission and gbam visa process started.
Timeline: submitted March 27th
Upfront Medical: 28th March
Biometrics: April 1
Medical updated to pass: April 21st
then the wait .......
on the 7th of June, was reading through the trend and saw when someone posted mailing the embassy, na so me too summon courage ooo, I mailed and the following day eligibility started.
Behold: MY PRR dropped yesterday 13th June.

my hands were checking to open the mail, and here comes my visa approved.

1st-time applicant, I have never travelled out of the country before, I declared all my refusals, and am 40yrs old. Those that tell you something? DON'T GIVE UP!!!!

Hello all, please i need productive advice on my next line of action,

I applied for my study permit some weeks back. however i didn't attached my financial plan to my document. every other document were attached in the right places.
The Proof of means of finance was attached with bank statements and and CAC documents. however i never added the financial plan initially because i felt is just a repetition since have filled it already in one of my IMM forms.

My challenge now is that i stated it on my sop and ended up not adding it but every other document were attached. is there a need for concern or can i send web form? My profile is already on eligibility review for the past one week. any more action?

Also is there any consequences in ordering for GCMS Note because i was expecting my PPR within 20days since i used upfront medicals, IELTS and MBS .

Pls what to do?

Hello

I applied for my study permit on 18th of April
But my admission letter that I submitted has one condition on it I’ve not cleared (my official university certificate)

Hope they won’t say because I’ve not cleared one condition they’ll not approve my visa or they’ll put it on hold.

Cos I graduated recently and my certificate is not yet ready

I don’t believe the financial plan's omission will affect your application's outcome, but you can send it with Webform.
There is no consequence in requesting GCMS notes
.

Hello folks,
So about GCMS notes, I noticed that that date d note is execute is just 1 week before the applicant receives the report. Meaning the initial 3 weeks is just pre-processing.

That means it logical to say, you should apply for your GCMS at least 3 weeks before the date you'd want to see update as at time.

For example, I applied 4 Visa on APril 30th, and because I know that as at 2 months (8 weeks) significant activity should have taken place with the application (either pre-assessment / eligibility proper), I applied for GCMS notes on May 30th. That way I'll be seeing information on my case file as at 20th June latest.

Hence, I can quickly take necessary action to address any concern with my file if a decision has not been taken at the time.

This is just my opinion, I may be incorrect.

The fact they want to know is if you truly worked or are working there. Whether it be NYSC or not, the fact is you worked or are working there and got paid or are getting paid.

My advice is separate NYSC work experience from the company work experience.
