Guys please I need help on further action to take.

It has been two weeks after I got a refusal mail and I haven’t been contacted to come collect my passport. The tracking status still says “Application Received by DMC”. I’ve sent mail, no response.

What can I do?

Please how is the rejection letter sent... I got a mail from TLS that a decision has been made by UKVI and another email within minutes that my application is still being processed and I will be notified as when my passport is ready... today is exactly 15 working days. I did my biometrics on 6th June.
I tracked my application now and all stages has been ticked blue... I don't understand
Can you please tell me how you tracked it? I’m trying to find out

Biometrics: May 5th
VAC: Lagos VI
2 paid mails: June 10, June 17 (being considered, awaiting decision)
‘Family Visa’: 3 ‘renewals’ and one fresh application
Collection mails: June 24th (for 3 ‘renewals’, fresh application is yet to move on the tracker)
Yet to pick our passports.

Thought to share my experience to encourage those that are yet to get any update on their applications especially for families.

I am new on Nairaland, the experience sharing on the posts here kept me sane, I was always looking for people who had similar experiences with me, I had some peace when I found Babyfaiz and Primetouch’s posts. I have never experienced this long wait before, it was tiring.

Also, I made so many avoidable mistakes (worsened my anxiety) that Nairaland could have saved me from:
1. Ikeja is a better alternative, VI came with extra cost
2. Self- upload of documents(first time): I didn’t attach any copy of our previous travel history. I have 20 years of UK travel from my teenage years (6 months, 2 yrs, 5yrs, study, post study, 5 yrs, short term study)
3. No letter from my employer
4. No cover letter

Also, I learnt from Nairaland that each new application is treated as a fresh one, so one must do due diligence every time.

Thank you everyone for always sharing, this place is a goldmine of free information.

Good morning lovely people on here

Please is it reasonable to mention in a cover letter that one is actually having some other income not mentioned in the application because of lack of documentation just to show to the ECO that one there are more money apart from the one stated in the application even though the declared income are sufficient?

Thanks

Many thanks for this post. You restored my hope. From your timeline, it seems it took them exactly 7 weeks to return your travel documents, right? I had thought since I couldn’t beat the 6 week’s mark, next would be 3 months. I am hoping I’ll get a positive response next week Judging by your timeline. My last visa was 2013 together with the family. I’ve had 6 months, 2 years twice. I haven’t been to the UK since 2014, I don’t know if that can mar my UK travel history. Ever since I have been going to the US frequently. I’m not so confident about my application because I didn’t write any cover letter which seems to be the norm these days. Also, my bank statement is a mess, a lot of unexplained deposit & CAC is inactive. I didn’t know of all these before submitting my application. I’m hoping my good travel history, job and living condition will suffice. For now, fingers crossed. If you don’t mind, when was your last UK visa? I also sent paid mail on the 13th & 21st of this month (awaiting decision). Let us all stay positive

If that is what is available, use them. If you can get up to 6 months, do that.

You are welcome, your posts also kept me sane during the long wait(still waiting for one more). My last application was in 2019 (short term study visa), the visa expired in 2020.

I think they are struggling with the huge number of applications. Hopefully, yours will be out next week, nairaland also opened my eyes to the mistakes I made, my deposits were not explained too (mostly salary but different narration besides monthly).

Good morning people.
Quick question for the house:
Biometrics collected in Lagos since May 5
TLS email finally came in yesterday saying passport is ready for pick up.
No rejection/approval letter ( I don’t know if the approval letter is a thing)

Pick up will be done Monday but the question is this :is this a sign of good news that there was no rejection letter before the pick up email? Or no think am e still fit be loool

Now, this is a positive news, you’re almost there. I have no doubt’s that your visa has been approved. From other peeps testimonies, you have 99% approval chance. Please, was yours renewal or fresh application?
