mrs lecturer:

The lagos fry-over was not played by Kate Henshaw. It was played by Uche Osotule.
Yeah Uche Obi Osotule aka Onome. Easy to see why she was confused with the former.

The "fryover" girl was the village wife of (gosh I've forgotten his name), who was married to Mildred Iweka. His mother wanted a grandchild and since Mildred Iweka hadn't conceived, she brought the village wife as an alternative.

First saw RMD in Jagua Nana's Daughter circa 1987 on NTA 2 Ch 5.

It wasn't Kate Henshaw. Kate Henshaw acted as the house-help in a different tv series (can't remember the title). She spoke a really weird form of english (at least I think it was english) in that series.

Does anybody remember a movie (I think it was produced by Jimi Odumosu) done in the 1980s, about a cult, I think the cult was called Natas or something like that.

I also loved NTA 10's contribution to NIFETEP titled "Abiku" & 3rd Eye (Yomi Adeyemi-Wilson).

My favourite sitcoms were Koko Close, Bassey & Company, New Masquerade, Jagua (still can't remember the title), Second Chance, (the sitcom with Jab Adu, Femi Jarrett and co. Can't remember the title), (the OGTV sitcom starring Funso Adeolu) and many others.

Who remembers Telemovies (from Jos). My best telemovie series was Lynx starring Mat & Gladys Dadzie (Mat Dadzie killed Gladys Dazie, but her ghost kept appearing to her kids, sometimes in the form of a lynx cat).

Did anyone watched Papa Ajasco & Co. in the 80s? It had the likes of Papy Luwe, Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Iya Awero, Peter Fatomilola, Jide Kosoko, Segun Adewale (a juju musician of repute) etc. Very funny unlike today's boring episodes.

infogenius: Winds against my soul.

Laolu Oguniyi. First broadcast in the 1970s and rebroadcast in the 80s. Taiwo Ajai-Lycet was pretty scary in this series.

I was much too young to understand a lot of the shows back then, but watching them now, I see why my parents could never miss a single episode. cheesy

meedx:
The Lagos is fryover housemaid role was played by Kate Henshaw.

BS. It was definitely not Kate Henshaw. Stop confusing us. I was already in university in 1992 when Checkmate was running so I know for a fact that it was not Kate Henshaw.

And that role was not as a housemaid, but as the village wife (Nkemchi) that was married for Nduka (Bimbo Manuel) by his people. At that time, Nduka was already married to Ada (played by Mildred Okopi nee Iweka, who was in Year 3, Theatre Arts in UNIPORT at the time). I knew many of those UNIPORT guys (Bob-Manuel Udokwu, Francis Duru, etc).

SO please, do not confuse the younger generation with wrong info.

nenepea: Adio's family, Bassey & Company "Madam the Madam, it is a matter of cash" grin Hot cash aka willie-willie,. NTA channel10 port harcourt drama You can't take your wife to New York.

Adio's Family: Jab Adu, Femi Jarett, Ihria Enakhimio, Sola Fosudo, etc.

Basi & Company: Albert Egbe (the father of the banker in Access Bank's school of excellence commercial), Tekena Harry McDonald, Aso Douglas, Ethel Ekpe (now anchor on 700 Club Nigeria) as well as Mildred Iweka played Segi.
Hot Cash: Innocent Ohiri (as Wily Willy). HE is now the HOD of Department of Theatre Arts in UNIPORT.

I remember "You Can't Take Your Wife to New York". Can't remember if it was Adiela Onyedibia and co who acted in it.

Taking me real back memory lane.

The person who acted Willy-Willy was my lecturer during my undergraduate days. He wasn't in any way scary. Just a nice soft-spoken lecturer.

Does anybody remember the series on OGTV with Jab Adu as Chairman of a company, Femi Jarrett as the clerk and Ihria Enakhimo as the messenger. Jab Adu had a friend called Ben Alamu, who was a policeman. This was years after the Adio Family series. I'm trying to remember the title of the series.

Also, does anybody remember the title of the OGTV sitcom starring Funso Adeolu?
