The young man involved in the controversial organ harvesting scandal that led to the arrest and detention of Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice in the UK, David Nwamini Ukpo, has taken to social media to tell his own side of the story.

According to David Nwamini in a Facebook post on Saturday, June 25th, he was allegedly lured from Nigeria to London for the harvesting of his kidney without his consent.

He claimed that they promised him a job and never told him about the organ donation, adding that he got to know about the organ harvesting through the physician who was going to perform the procedure on him.

Ukpo’s post tiled “My journey to UK” read, “On one fateful day I met a man named okoro in a building site where I was working for my daily bread, okoro told me he like me, he want to help me achieve my dream because he saw me as a great person. He told me could you like to work in UK I just started laughing because I don’t have money for that, then I told him no am not interested and asked me why I told him I don’t have money for that.

Yes I said that earlier too. Even if he wholeheartedly agreed without the enticement of money or citizenship, it’s such a big decision.

There’s no way he wasn’t going to regret it in 5-10 years time when he’s beginning to come into his full adulthood. The senator didn’t think this through at all.

Did he know about the reason for the journey before hand? And even if he knew, what measures did the senator take to make sure that the boy wasn’t agreeing based on duress?

I know it’s possible he wanted to use the opportunity to escape the country and then turn around to claim underage. But the senator being the bigger person here should have done due diligence.

Evil boy, you will be unraveled easily. Even me that is not a lawyer has started picking holes in your story. You stayed in the house and within a week your visa and passport was ready? Your passport was issued Nov 4 2021 as already available, the senator used his office to apply for your visa on Dec 28, 2021. The interval between passport and visa application alone is one month and one week. We have not factored how long you stayed in the house before you even went for passport. To crown it all this is June 2022. But by your story all was done in one week!

Do you have international passport?

Did any official verify your date of birth on your BVN/NIN?

They simply accepted what you told them probably backed by sworn affidavit which may or may not have been correct.
