Good morning Chief.
I have no idea about schools that accept a graduate of an open and distance leaning.
Await an input from the house on that Which school did you get your degree from if I may ask. Check Langara college am sure they will accept it as long as you have a degree certificate because Distance learning is more like a part time programmez 1 Like |

West0099: Hello plss do you think it’s a good idea for me to go for A diploma instead of university in Canada?? Both colleges and universities offer diploma courses and degree courses, It depends on the qualification you wish to pursue. If you already hold an HND or Bachelor degree, you should go for a post graduate study—PGD/PGC/PostBaccDip or Masters depending on your grade: if you have O'level, you should go for undergraduate study—Diploma, AdvDip, Bachelor degree. Another thing to look into is how to show either academic or career progression. If you have no or little job experience, you should target to show academic progression—going for a higher qualification than what you already possess. If you have study gap or job experience, you should target to show career progression— going for a higher qualification relating to your work experience. 3 Likes |

Lekiboboe:
It depends on your Academic profile and Work Profile
Your response to the below questions can determine the Academic program qualification you should go for?
What did you study in the University or Polytechnic
Do you have a 2.1, 2.2, 3rd Class or Upper, Lower Credit?
What year did you graduate ?
Do you have a job, if yes what is the name of the job?
What are your Job duties? I don’t have any bro I’m 19 yeah going to Canadian college of technology and business |

Adeanalyst: Good morning sir, I got my computer science degree through an open and distance learning program in one of the universities in Nigeria. I am trying to apply for a PG program through applyboard but most of the colleges I have attempted to apply to so far stated that they do not accept distance learning degree. I would really appreciate it if you could help me with colleges that I can apply to that accepts distance learning degree. Thanks Firstly what the name of your school that awarded your Bachelors? Secondly You don’t need to indicate that you have a distance learning degree. All you do is input your degree as long as it 4 years and you have your original certificate and transcript with you, I believe u good to go. Check Langara College |

Hello Everyone,
For residential properties that has no valuation report, can I quote an estimate of what they are worth using nigerian real estate analysis?
Ps: I don’t want to do a valuation report on them because they are a lot and will cost me.
Thanks. |

From what I've gathered here, you get a letter of introduction when your application is approved, it's an approval letter that says you're allowed to study in Canada Ableman101:

Welcome to Canada! May the land favour you in Jesus name,Amen. possessor1: Landing gist
Nigeria.
My flight was 11pm, June 27. I planned to get to lagos airport very early. I left for the airport at 3pm arrived
Lagos airport was very chaotic. I willl advice you arrive very early. I figured I had excess luggage and what I was carrying as my carry on bag was too big. I wasn't perturbed I was ready for it. I rearranged my bag and paid for one bag extra
Then I went to check-in at Air France desk. They said they need to profile my passport and ask for documents. (In my mind I was like when Naija start to dey sound sweet like this. In my mind I was like Oga which documents do you need im ready for you!)
He only asked for Arrive CAN..vaccination card and international passport. He signed and added a white slip behind my passport saying Im cleared I should go and check in.
Then we waited in this long Nigerian immigration ( before you join this line they give you a yellow form to fill..just join the line with your phone... The line was sooo long and their system was down for like 45 minutes. 3 or more people missed their flight... Again got to Nigerian airport early.
Then we proceeded to board at the right to time. The food in air France was really nice. Tasted like yam and stew porridge...the type in the Esau Used to sell his birthright loool. We landed in CDQ airport France. At 6:25 am on 28th
The airport was different, better and more excellent than the Nigerian airport. I had to plan myself for my next 10 hours layover. I asked if I have access to a lounge...they said I have to pay 50 euros for it. My seat mate at the lagos to Paris trip was going to Toronto too..so we were navigating everything together
France CDQ airport is very awesome no hassles. Everything here is computerised. Just swipe your boarding pass and direction shows in a computerised map.
But the issue was our flight to Toronto wasn't showing on the screen yet because it was like 9 hours away nor was it written on our boarding pass. We asked one of the officials..she scanned my boarding pass and viola! My Gate appeared.. Gate K55. We had to navigate to The K area of the airport...we used a train to get there.
When I got to the gate area....then Place was really soft and chill. They had normal chairs.. Sleeping stretchers... And sofa beds. I slept for like 3 hours woke up..got something to eat... Connected to airport wifi... Make calls updated my folks about the trip and all...
My flight to Toronto was 4:40pm...they opened the line to board at 3:20pm
Here they asked for letter of introduction. (I heard the Indians murmuring that this is new..they never ask that here)
I boarded.. We took off...at 4:50pm... Landed at 7:00pm Canadian time...but there was a long queue...so we had to come out of the plane at 7:24pm
There was a really long walk...to the self service machine before getting to immigration for the study permit.
Where you scan your passport..and print a ticket..this ticket is what determines the line you join.. They were a lot of people! Especially from Ukraine.
I joined the study permit line. They were like 50 people ahead of me. When it got to my turn.... The VO was looked calm... I told him he has a nice haircut.. The guy smiled..he was like no one has told him that all day... So he asked for my passport.. Said he will need my Letter of introduction...so I brought out my file..he was like wao I came ready.. I go..you bet! lol...
He said I had a back charge and PFL from last year....I was like yeah. He said he sees that I made the payment. I told him I have 2 friends that have the same issue and they have waited for up to a year (the guys are in this group) he said he would have asked for their UCI but there is some confidentiality clause around that. That they should send a webform stating all the details.
Then he went to print my study permit. Then he said welcome to Canada!
I left...my bags were waiting for me.
The person to pick me up was waiting. I left the airport at 9:16 pm (Toronto time)

LONGGGGGG POST ALERT!!!
Guys I really do not know where to start from! I'm short of words. God's just too good to fail. I'm still in shock cause I can't really fathom why my application was this quick or why I was just favoured, but I give God all the glory! For he alone is to be praised!
I've been following this thread for about 4yrs now. Just observing with no plans to submit my application. Was just here for the information basically, and to read people's process (which I enjoyed doing) didn't even know I'd eventually apply. Time came for me to apply, I was scared to the Bone! I was scared to doing it myself! My sponsor (brother) literally begged me to look for an Agent to handle my application, I was skeptical at first, but I succumbed cause I didn't want any issue or stories that touch.
I contacted an agent on this platform, he charged me 150K for admission and 250K for Visa. My sponsor agreed to pay for the first stage (admission). Las las I eventually paid 190K for only admission!!! Only school admission ohhh!!!
Then it was time for Visa Application, and I was told Visa Fee has increased to 300K. And I was like hell No!!! I no go school? Am I daft? No! I can do this shi# myself. 300K no be 300 naira.
That's how it began, took a leap of faith and decided to do and handle my Visa Process myself, and God blessed me with the GOLDEN Mail (PPR)! Guys please do this stuff yourself! You can do it! Yes YOU! You can! There's nobody else that cares about your application than you! You don't need any agents NAIRALAND is the real deal! NAIRALAND taught me everything I know and used to get my Approval.
I'm a FIRST TIME APPLICANT, my timeline goes thus, I used the NEW PORTAL,

Lo and behold, today, Correspondence Letter and PPR letter - 27th January 2022 (Basically my application took 1 month and 28days)

In all, it's been God. God did it for me. And he'll do it for everyone here. Cause he knows why we're here and what we're looking for. I'd also like to use this medium to appreciate Teemenzo and EyinjuGod. God bless you guys again for everything. You were with me from the start to the end. I'm rooting for you both. My prayers aren't complete yet, till y'all get your PPR's
I also want to appreciate Makano for the series of questions of mine he answered. God bless you boss. Ketima, thank you for always assisting and encouraging everyone. You actually encouraged me to do this myself and I appreciate, Scotisshh (dunno if I got the spelling correctly) your testimony dey come. Lianna aka Rela, thank you for your encouraging email replies. I also want to thank you all, my fellow Nairalanders for the congratulatory messages and mentions.
If I decide to reply all mentions, I might fill up 5pages of this new thread. God bless you all. I'd also be here to congratulate y'all when your turn comes. All of us go enter this Canada! That's for sure!
BTW, I'm for University Canada West, April intake. Going for MBA Business Administration. I'm open to connecting with my fellow UCW students or anyone going to Vancouver by April.

I have a question, are we only allowed to send webforms to the Kenyan office? I'm asking this because I sent emails to like 10 different email addresses including London, Kenyan, Beijing, Lagos, Accra, Cairo, Pretoria etc about my biometrics not changing to Completed but it was actually the Beijing people that replied me this morning that they've fixed it and I checked the portal and the biometrics was showing Completed. So I'm wondering if I can also send a webform to Beijing office regarding medical not updated as well since they seem to be the only one taking things serious.
