Just like the other guy said. Write to your school and defer, but hint them that as soon as u get response from the embassy de should send fresh admission letter to you for the purpose of the interview. Some schools do issue fresh admission letter if the deferment has not reach the time or end of one year. All the best.
Thanks.
Can writing the embassy be effective?

Perhaps you write to the school to defer. I'm in same category as you, gotten admission but embassy is yet to fix appointment for me.
The school only said they'd write to the embassy and hope it works out, else, I defer.

Please when did you book your visa appointment? Was it this year? Is it Category B

Who has gotten an appointment date for Category B this year, please let us know when you booked your visa appointment. This will give us a better insight on the true situation of things. Thanks.

good afternoon
Please I have a 2.1 result and I have been offered provisional admission for a master program in Frankfurt, is it valid for appointment booking?
Do I book under category A or B?
And what are the right steps (DOs and DON'Ts) to take so I ensure a hitch free visa appointment booking?

I'll appreciate all helpful prompt response
You fall under category B, so I will advise you book as soon as possible

hi, everyone I'm new here.

I have some questions please

1. I finished with first class in my bachelor degree in economics since 2012 and finished with a 2:1 in my Economics masters degree in 2019 both in Nigeria.
I applied for another masters degree in economics and I just got my admission letter from university of Bonn, Germany, yesterday. I'm to start lectures by October 10th 2022. so I need to book an AD as soon as possible.? please will I be applying under category A Or B?

2. Can anyone guide me on the steps to follow after getting an admission letter? especially on opening the blocked account- should it be fintiba basic or plus. do I have to open a separate blocked account for my spouse and 12 months old baby. how much should the blocked account hold?

3. I would want my 12 months old baby and husband to accompany to Germany. Does anyone know if I'm suppose to book appointment dates for them as well and if so what visa I'm I going to be applying for?

Thank you for your anticipated response.

Thanks so much

The embassy shouldn’t be concerned about a Nigerian public holiday. I advise you go for your interview unless the embassy states otherwise.

Please are you Category B ? When did you book your visa appointment?

If you are in Lagos, you can do this free at the German embassy, or you could meet a Notary lawyer to certify your documents. There is no fixed price for a notary lawyers fee, could range from as low as as 2500 naira to 10,000 naira for each document. Notary lawyers are in all states of the federation.

I got an appointment today after some months but I currently don’t have an admission letter. Expecting admission outcomes from two schools before the appointment date which is one the days in later July.

I don’t know why admission is taking long

Apply to IU international university of applied sciences. It is a private university. You can get admission in two days. Use their admission letter for your interview, when you get to Germany you can decide to exmatriculate and go to your intended sch.

TIPS FOR NIGERIANS COMING TO GERMANY FOR STUDIES.

Note: these are my views, so don't fight...

For almost three years, in Germany, my advice to a young Nigerian coming here for studies.

1. Learn the Language if you can before coming; at best, start learning in Nigeria
2. Never study a course you are not down for, don't struggle in an area that is not a good fit for you.
3. Do not focus on lager jobs when you arrive. It's a bad deal. I know it may be difficult, but focus more on work student position in a company focusing on things related to your course of study.
4a. I would advise, you take the first six months of your Blocked account-sponsored stay in Germany to intensively apply for a work student position in a company rather than start a lager job from the first go. I understand some of you may have to return the funds you collected from people. If that is the case, start applying for work student positions in Nigeria. Those in IT have a good chance. I have heard of a UNN student working for an IT firm in Germany in a work student position. He receives a monthly stipend of like 1500 euros for 80 hours per month of work.

4b. The most valuable assets you have in your first 2 years here are the Internet, constant power supply and your student status. Many fail to understand the power of this resource. They undermine it or take for granted the opportunity that has been presented before them. Don't spend your time streaming videos always, engage the internet for productive uses. Don't be deceived, time flies in Germany. Before you know it, 2 years is gone. Maximise these resources for your own gain, learn a skill or software, your school may have the premium version software, ask from your uni library or international office, there is numerous software you can get the premium version for free. Don't waste this opportunity, your competition is on a global scale.

5. it's wise to spend your blocked account money with a PETER OBI mindset.

6. You must be intentionally social in DE to enjoy and gain the international student experience in a country like DE. This is because of language and cultural barriers, but if you have attended to point (1) above, you are fine.

7. Covid 19 is over, so you guys would be coming in at a better time than I did. I can't overemphasise that your study is the main reason you are in Germany (at least officially); do well to keep things straight. However, don't miss out on other opportunities, especially travel and continuous learning opportunities (e.g. summer schools, conferences etc.). Some of these continuous learning opportunities are fully funded.
I combine my desire to travel around Europe with learning something new and adding some certificates to my portfolio.
I have since visited Lithuania, Poland, Ireland and other cities in Germany to attend one summer school, workshop or conference. All were fully funded.

8. Build network and friends while in Germany. If this is important to you and your career plans, please consider doing this intentionally. You must be intentional, quiet and wise about it, don't be "standoffish". Germans or say Europeans don't warm up to foreigners quickly, so don't be like that...., its not so deep. I trust you understand what i mean here.

9. In contrast to what you may have heard, appreciate the Nigerian community if you find one in your city. Its a big help in socialising and finding people to argue about NIGERIA occasionally. Your Nigerian community can be of great help. However, do not be petty. Don't bring bad behaviour here. For instance, the Nigerian student community in Darmstadt is lovely, with quality Nigerians who are cool-headed, fun-loving and exciting. We have had many parties that are the pride of black people in this city. We are gracious, LOUD, BLACK, and PROUD.
In summary, we get sense.

10. Appreciate the relationships you are living behind in Nigeria and keep them cordial. Yes, I understand some people feel the need to lock up and ignore people back home. Well, I am not one to tell you how to treat or behave toward your friends. My point is, you may need one or too assistance from family and friends back home. So keeping it cordial is fine. Some may ask you for money because you are now in Europe, where money grows on trees. Well, it's up to you; if you give them that impression, then deal with it: Na, you sabi.

If you have any questions, you can ask them here or drop me an email.

Hello, good day.

I'm a medical student in Nigeria but ASUU strike is threatening me along with other issues at my school.

I want to start again in Germany and I'd like to know the procedures.

And also, is education in Germany free as thy say??

Good day, please how long is the waiting period after visa interview? It’s over 7 weeks now I did interview and nothing yet.
I used blocked account and also going for summer because I submitted my enrollment certificate during the interview. The waiting is sickening

I have been tagging you to find out when you booked your appointment, but it seems people just come to this thread to seek solution to their problem while not assisting other people with answers to their own questions. It’s quite selfish.

I had to talk about this cos I have noticed other people acting in this same manner too. @Dada24 too did same and some others.

It’s very wrong. You come here to ask a question seeking an answer from a total stranger. Yet another total stranger asks you for clarifications and you totally ignore.

I’m on a work visa plus I got the visa outside Nigeria (had my masters here). The visa process is quite easy from here. I mean, I checked for the appointment date on a Sunday afternoon and there was an option to select Monday as the submission day.
