YES,it reduce rigging, didn't you notice how there was no rigging in Ekiti election which APC had to use vote buying as their only option. If there is one thing I appreciate Buhari and the 9th Assembly is the amendment and signing of the new electoral law. 6 Likes |

nothing else will eliminate rigging in Nigeria if we cant stand the chance to cast our votes online and anywhere you find yourself in the country! this is the simple truth the politicians are afraid of! 3 Likes |

What if there is no network to electronically transmit the results? It is the alternative that brings rigging. Or is the BVAS connect to a satellite network? |
It is not a worthless scheme. It will go a long way in eliminating stuffing of ballot boxes, writing of results and magic at INEC collation centres
Hope it's not the same electoral bill that the jibril has refused to signed ?so It's not yet a laws until jibril signs it hence it's ineffective. |

Electoral Laws without strict monitoring or followups don't work in climes as that of Nigeria. We need vote in all leadership positions young visionary leaders come next year and most importantly vote out both APC & PDP alike. @Seniorwriter 2 Likes 1 Share |

I think it has truly strengthened our electoral process... The political parties will truly have a hard time... They have been box to vote buying approach and disruption of voting process wherever they feel things is not going their way.. The old gimmicks of ballot stuffing, over voting and massive thumb printing seems to be gone for good. |

Op your question seems like you definitely not in Nigeria. Before buhari agreed to sign that electoral bill, they have shown him the rigging strategies and just concluded ekiti elections is casa study. Nothing will change, even if God himself come down to rule Nigeria with the crop of politicians and the type of political system we run. Just watch how tinube will emerge, and they will call it vote buying. 1 Like |

Vote buying is the problem now ,most people are hungry and if you offer them 5k they will willingly accept ,all these preaching of shunning 5k for a better 4 years is like telling a man on top of a woman that is about to ejaculate to hold it back ...is very difficult . |

PaChukwudi44:this is where the rigging comes to play... before accreditation will be over and ready for voting, the voters will be all exhausted as there will be no time to register all the number of voters in that unit. They will now fill in the rest available space of that entire unit. There are also some area where there is no network service, like the riverine areas which the results will not be uploaded at that particular day.... |

Re: Will The New Electoral Law Eliminate Rigging In 2023? by Oyiboman69: 9:56am On Jul 07, 2022 |
Foolishbuhari:not all units will be able to transmit result on that same day. The process of accreditation before voting is time consuming and there is no way they can exhaust all the total voters in that particular unit. eg, if the total register voters in a particular unit is five thousand registered voters... the numbers of people accredited to vote cannot be up to 5000 and the 4pm closing time can never be enough. The rest will be manipulated by the poling officers who are already compromised by the ward executives |
