In as much as this is a mere speculation, I can assure all lovers of the progressive work APC is doing in Lagos that Ambode pose no threat to the party. He will lose so badly.

In fact, an Ambode on the ballot will make APC’s victory very easy as the opposition votes will be divided. We are just going to see an Ekiti state situation all over again. I pray this is true.

As with Peter Obi's candidature, Tinubu's attack dogs will cry doomsday, but here's the truth. Akinwunmi Ambode has a very good chance to put Lagos in play if he joins the race under Labour. This is what Tinubu urchins know very well and will do everything to make you believe otherwise.

Nigerians will vote for personalities in the coming elections, not a party. A party is only a vehicle for the purpose. He will look to profit from the rising popularity of the Obidient movement. Lagos Igbos, a sizeable chunk of voters in Lagos, will break for him. So also Yorubas, who have seen through the fraud that Tinubu is.

His Lagos east people, who stood firm and rebuffed the disgrace Tinubu prepared for Ambode after his service as Lagos governor when the EFCC was unleashed on him, will vote for their own. Moderate Lagosians from minority tribes will definitely look in his direction too.

The big loser here will be the PDP. The bulk of Labour votes, if Ambode joins and candidates, will come from former PDP voters. Taking Lagos may seem impossible and rightly so because of known factors, but nothing is impossible in today's Nigeria. I can describe the feat as an uphill task, but not impossible. The people have had enough.
