When we asked them what did they do,they will say aregbesola did infrastructure. Infrastructure that did not target the economy. Infrastructure that only added to the debt burden of the state. Love seyi makinde or hate him,His infrastructure drive has shot up the state IGR of Oyo state by over 100percent currently at 4Billion per month from the almost 2Billon he got it in 2019. Ajimobi only increased it by 1Billion in 8years,In essence, Oyetola is trying to move away from the mistakes of aregbesola.

Osun is an insolvent state and there is nothing Adeleke can do until they pay off these debts. Adeleke will only add more cos he seems not to know what exactly to be done.

There's one thing you people fail to understand. Firstly, I'm from Osun, so I'm in a right position to talk. It's true that Oyetola never owed civil servants, however he's owing pensioners. Oyetola promised to be paying the arrears of salary owed by Aregbe's administration, he hasn't paid a dime. Lest I forget, Aregbesola did not owe workers too in first term. But his second term was characterized by mass hunger due to non-payment of salary. During Aregbe's tenure, I drank garri for a whole week. We really suffered.
Why did workers fail to support Oyetola's second term bid? Osun civil servants feared he may repeat what Aregbe did in his second term, as he's rumoured to be the brain behind half salary as the chief of staff. Osun is a civil servant state; anything that affects the civil servants affect the public.
BTW, it's uncivil of you to call Adeleke a failure. He hasn't even assumed office, but because of prejudiced mind, you have already concluded he would fail. I pray you will be disappointed.

The bolded part is so true ! Though Aregbesola is from Ilesha, but Osogbo people love him so much and have even adopted him as one of their own. I'm from Osogbo,I know this to be a fact. However,Osogbo people did not actually expect Oyetola or even anyone else to come to any "round about and stand on the roof of his car and share money" as you put it,but they love anyone that's fair to them. Let's face it,Aregbesola is the architect of modern Osun state. He brought lots of infrastructural developments to the state in general and was particularly fair to Osogbo being the capital of the state. This is why Osogbo people love him very dearly and not because he was sharing money at any roundabout. As a matter of fact,there was no where or any "roundabout" in Osogbo where Aregbesola was recorded sharing money to anyone;it never happened !

There is no doubt about it,Oyetola is a very prudent manager. He in fact,deserves all the accolades for the brilliant ways he has been managing the treasury of the state without borrowing a kobo ! Having said that, he failed partially because he surrounded himself with some eye - service men who ill advised him regarding the internal wrangling within the party in Osun state and chiefly because of the terrible maladministration and woeful performances of Buhari's regime. "That he has performed well in his first term and they believe he's coming in the second term to deal with them or perform less. Same thing played out with Oyetola. The people of Osun didn't like the fact that Aregbesola owed pension and salaries hence wouldn't vote for his successor. It was by miracle through which Oyetola got in the first election because it was close. Now, they don't trust Oyetola for second term because they believed he would behave like Aregbesola.

Most people judged the guy based on apc and tinubu…Apc leaders in the state worked against him because he doesn’t throw money around.he was even pay debt incurred by aregbe..I feel sorry for the osun people…cus adeleke is like portable,always talking

My friend, I’m not a baby political analyst. Also, I don’t get carried away with all these social media babyish excitements that bear no relevance on the streets.

Even before the Osun election, I correctly predicted it’d be tough for the incumbent because the Adeleke family are very much loved in Osun. In addition, the Governor has been very prudent, refusing to share Osun money around. People seemed not to like that and prefer the free-giving Adeleke, believing there’ll be stomach infrastructure to go round when he gets to office.

I’m compiling a list of all those postulating about a certain shock in 2023. Write it down, there’ll be no shock. The only shock will be social media champions will start crying rigging when they realise the real people on ground have shown the virtual people who’s real.
