This is simply the solution. I know of a very interior village in Ondo where the people are off the grid for about 20 years now so a solar company went there and set up a solar station. House connected to the solar station has pre paid meters. All that is required is you buy pin and enjoy your power. Now they have 24hrs supply. Even welders subscribe to their service. Imagine we can replicate this in every district in a local government. The way God disappointed NITEL, God will disappoint PHCN. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Mrkumareze: Exactly my worry! The power you fail to generate as a government an individual does maybe for his estate and just because it's up to 1MW the government takes it from that person and put into a near comatose National grid? It is on record that TCN and Discos have been turning down electricity generated from smaller gencos just to Maximize profit. This is sure going to discourage individuals and even states from generating electricity. Why would i generate the power i can't utilize directly? |

Mrkumareze:Lool, my bro, Rivers state has been generating power since I can remember. Akwaibom also built a power plant. But problem is returning it to National grid to be distributed. How can a state use it's resources to put up a power plant and they will end up not using it. No be juju be that?? APC just dey behave like a dog chasing it's tails. Simply allow states and individuals to Generate, distribute and collect their bills. Tax goes to FG shikena. If they can gazette oil blocks, why not power. |

Potbellyman:The bill is as useless as tissue paper just because of that. The north won't let go of power generation and distribution. Generate power and put it on national grid for distribution, and it will be moved up north. Useless bill. |
Re: Senate Passes Bill For States, Individuals To Supply Electricity by justmondris: 2:16pm On Jul 22, 2022 |
Mrkumareze: You are very very wrong. Their is Politics in the distribution because the generated electricity is not even up-to 10% of what is needed to power a big country like Nigeria. The total megawatts other western countries that is as small as Lagos is generating, is 10x higher than what a big country like Nigeria is generating. 1 Like |

“That is the only way the power problem would be solved. The space is now open; there is little restriction as to who can generate power and distribute. Most of the comments on the first page are heavily misinformed! The bill when passed to law will empower the state who will also give licenses to individuals or companies to be able to generate, transmit and distribute power. 1 Like |

Of course the states have right to this, just that we don't vote in the right people into senate and house of representatives, to pass the right bill, to move the nation forward. Lagos state government has been talking about this. Good development. 1 Like |
