One more thing to note about this fish especially when preparing it. Use hot water to remove the scales. It's must be removed then dry it with fire before using it for your banga soup. Thank me later

It's called okodo. It's medicinal. The Chinese use it to treat some ailments. Snake fish. It's available at Makoko fish market when it's in season

That's mud fish. It's very expensive compared to normal catfish cos it's very tasty n fleshy. The dry/smoked one doesn't get scattered in soup so classed alongside barracuda and red snipers hence its more expensive than normal catfish

In Bayelsa its called Ebiseni whole some call it breast fish because of the long projections from the body. It has only one bone and it can bite even after you have killed it. You have to pour hot water and salt on it after cutting off the head. It's poisonous when it bites. But e dey sweet wella. The fish eats itself during dry season

This is the best answer. I use to kill this fish when I was small, they get buried in the mud, you can just be walking and match them in the muddy water
