Shell have what they call degree matcher. They match the degrees to available positions. For example someone that studied political science will be considered for Human Resources and Downstream commercial for example. With Engineering being considered for upstream technical roles

Not a flat rate. It will be a range, ofcourse you don't expect HR to be on the same amount of money as Engineering. There will be difference in pay depending on how technical/risky the position is

Sir only Shell know what they want. They have sent younger applicants with strong 2:1 regret mails. Keep your hopes high, you are competing with 100s of thousands for only about 10 slot. Whatever the case i am sure you tried your best.
