Looooolll... this is absolutely hilarious. So hilarious infact that I must break it down a bit.

A battle ready Comrade just saw his fellow Naija Vawulence lieutenants taking huge shots at Michael Johnson and he followed suit, not wanting to miss the action.

Now, in the midst of enjoying the whole action he pauses and asked to know what he is really doing this for.

This guy na real cruise. What a guy. grin

Where is oduduru been long I heard of him..
If he was in the men relay team we could have got a shot at the podium

Divine has gone off the radar o.... It's almost like he's hiding.. Hasn't competed in any major event since 2019.. But two gist I came across was that he left the Nigerian Olympic team after he was barred from joining the team party for putting on puma kits as against Nike... The second gist is that he went into hiding after the Blessing Okagbare issue at the Olympics..

Some stupid trash questioning the WR time Tobi barely minutes after the race.

Would he have been so "analytical" if it was an American that broke the record?

Chrisooblog has answered already but let me just put up the frame for all to see without clicking the link.... and drop some extra takes.

This legend said this below barely after Amusan smashed the WR the first time in Heat 1 of the 100mH Semifinals.

He didn't have anything to say or showed any doubts when Tobi set the African record in the Round 1 heats of same world championship and neither did he criticize all other timings at this Championship especially by American, Sydney Mclaughlin in the 400mH.

But immediately Amusan touched the WR (now Former WR) held by Johnson's fellow American, Kendra Harrison (12.20secs) and tore it up into shreds with a new one of 12.12secs, Johnson began singing this song below (shown in attached frame).....

....only for Amusan to again shatter the 12.12 secs later in the final making a new 12.06secs WR which was later ratified (for me I think politically as it took them quite an unusual time to ratify the head wind assistance of 2.5m/s).

And this WR,12.06 (+2/5m/s head wind) came after he uttered this balderdash for the initial WR, 12.12 (+0.9m/s head wind).

Eventually 12.12 secs is the officially recognised WR but 12.06 will be counted as a lifetime best for Amusan in all conditions.

My take in a nutshell: Johnson is a real ass

Let me add that his comments section were not initially turned off on twitter. He turned it off after the rain of the Nigerians began on his TL. Lol

Americans think they own the shorter track events. I remember how the Usain Bolt's era got under their skin. This is basically wat Jamaicans go through sometimes as their biggest competitor.

Well I can see he started backtracking and is now playing the victim. Wat he said was just senseless really.

They do that all the time.

During Bolt's era Carl Lewis had the effrontery to him of using substances to boost his performances.

MJ don confuse. I know he will go back to read his tweet again and again. Make d guy no go commit suicide. Nigerians can use their mouth to kill somebody. Upon all the infighting inside the country, but once an away match, Naija can kill. North, East, West South, go dey fire in one direction.

Feyenoord ready to activate Dessers option, but Dessers wants to consider all summer options.

Dessers yesterday:

Cremonese is not a big club? But the Serie A is a top competition and I dream of that.

His ambition has remained clear from last season.

Either he moves to Europe's top 5 leagues or a UCL team outside top 5.

Its gradually becoming normal to subject people to indiscriminate bullying on social media. Everyone throws his one cent jab forgetting he's receiving hundreds of it. That's how Nigerians began dragging Mrs Carter on an issue she knew little about back then.

I didn't see him insulting Amusan anywhere. It's his business if he has reservations with the time.

Congrats to Amusan. Harrison became my fav then after she broke the WR back in '16 out of anger at losing out in the Olympic trials. She beat all four US reps. Amusan with the rec now. That's great.

LoL..

But on a more serious note, some people may not see it yet, but what Tobi did today may directly or indirectly have an effect on our sport development going forward... She's been trending all day and even the most prominent personalities have been talking about her... Politicians are using her feat to chase clout.. But most people are using her as a clear example to the fact that we have a lot of talents like her all over the country... What we don't have is proper infrastructure and incentive to develop these talents... Imagine how many top athletes we lose to other countries every year! Maybe this could encourage our government to seat up and do better...

Despite logistical troubles at Tokyo, it was evident that Nigeria has lots of potential in track. Amusan's 4th place finish, Ese's silver and Adegoke making it to the 100m finals showcased this. The evidence of this potential was further cemented when our youth finished 3rd at the U20 youth athletics championship last year in Kenya.

I seriously implore that our FG and sports ministry invest heavily in this sport. The potential is there and we can make a huge statement in 2024 in Paris. If not Paris (since its too soon), then Los Angeles it is.

I hope this gets some action going in the government and also the private investment space

Sports is not yet an industry in Nigeria that's why we keep having this push-start approach to it

What’s happening to Iheanacho & Emmanuel Dennis? Our Nigerian forwards need to move to clubs that will use them regularly or show them in the top 5 leagues
Dennis needs to move to an EPL club

She couldn't believe it!!! I still cannot believe it!! shocked

Set the African record in the 1st round heats with a run of 12.40secs.

And now doing 12.12 secs!!! In the Semis!!! What will she then run in the final??!!

Man... Tobi has always had the potential to dominate the women's 100m hurdles but her Start had previously been her bane. Now, I think she's near absolutely getting that right.

I expect more jaw dropping scenes in the final. Tobi Amusannnn Babyyyyy!!!! cool

This was my message to her few weeks ago. Of course, I believe she can go under 12 secs.

Wayne Rooney's DC United preparing N2.1b bid for 6ft 4in Nigerian attacker

Major League Soccer club D.C. United, coached by Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney, are reportedly lining up a bid for Nigerian attacker Elijah Adebayo.

Rooney returned to D.C. United earlier this month, this time as manager, after resigning as Derby County coach.

Washington Post reporter Steven Goff has tweeted that D.C. United will make a bid in excess of five million dollars (N2.1 billion in Nigerian currency) for the Luton Town star.

Adebayo, a product of the Fulham Academy where he spent twelve years, moved to the Hatters in February 2021, and made a splash last season with 17 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.

The 6ft 4in striker played a fringe role due to fitness issues as Luton Town were beaten by Huddersfield Town in the Championship playoff semifinals.

Should Adebayo's transfer to D.C United materialize, it would be the first time in his career he has been snapped up by a non-English club.

During his time at Craven Cottage, he embarked on loan spells at Slough Town, Bognor Regis Town, Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town and Stevenage, before sealing a permanent transfer to Walsall in the summer of 2019.

Adebayo has a contract with Luton Town until June 2024 and netted against Derby County last October with Rooney in the Rams dugout.
