The saints? Hmmmm

Probably, Southampton are impressed with what they are seeing in camp from Manchester City academy graduate, Romeo Lavia. I think they sense that the other players must be solid.

Apart from Samuel Edozie, Manchester City just rejected a bid from Southampton for Liam Delap.

Wayne Rooney's DC United preparing N2.1b bid for 6ft 4in Nigerian attacker

Major League Soccer club D.C. United, coached by Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney, are reportedly lining up a bid for Nigerian attacker Elijah Adebayo.

Rooney returned to D.C. United earlier this month, this time as manager, after resigning as Derby County coach.

Washington Post reporter Steven Goff has tweeted that D.C. United will make a bid in excess of five million dollars (N2.1 billion in Nigerian currency) for the Luton Town star.

Adebayo, a product of the Fulham Academy where he spent twelve years, moved to the Hatters in February 2021, and made a splash last season with 17 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.

The 6ft 4in striker played a fringe role due to fitness issues as Luton Town were beaten by Huddersfield Town in the Championship playoff semifinals.

Should Adebayo's transfer to D.C United materialize, it would be the first time in his career he has been snapped up by a non-English club.

During his time at Craven Cottage, he embarked on loan spells at Slough Town, Bognor Regis Town, Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town and Stevenage, before sealing a permanent transfer to Walsall in the summer of 2019.

Adebayo has a contract with Luton Town until June 2024 and netted against Derby County last October with Rooney in the Rams dugout.

Hmm look at what 2.1billion is, Nigeria is finished

While Liverpool and Chelsea will go on study leave.

The EPL 2021/22 was decided on one point between Man city and Liverpool.

The EPL is too competitive and the best league in the world, it's too close to call .

what happened

There are clear anger issues with VO and he needs to find a way to control his rage. He was even being beligerant to his manager.

Admittedly this relentless rage and consuming aggression is a core attribute that gives him over riding advantage. But it is a two edged sword, this street mentality is not becoming of a top professional.

These are not behaviours that will endear him to the top clubs. Add to that the murky darkness of his transfer allegedly over inflated. Legal tussles with agents and now his in-laws.

He needs to change this behaviour come down of his high horse and stop being so conceited. Pride comes before a fall.

Uzoho vs Adeleye: Preseason Battle

Francis Uzoho kept a second half clean sheet as his side Omonia Nicosia defeated Hapoel Katamon 2-0 Jerusalem of Israel in a preseason friendly.

He came on in the second half as Fabiano played the first half.

Adebayo Adeleye conceeded once as he played the first half of that loss for Hapoel while Yonathan Shabi came on in the second half to concede from the spot.

Culled from NK Maribor's site on Ishaq (Translated):

We can introduce another new player: Ishaq Kayode Rafiu, a 21-year-old winger from Nigeria, from Rivers United to NK Maribor with the title of national champion.

If he hadn't been part of the national team's trip to the USA, where he wore the team's jersey for the first time in the match against Mexico, he would have finished the season as the most efficient individual in the league.

"We had to react, to expand the staff we also need a new solution in the wing positions. I'm glad we got the deal done, Ishaq is here as a player for the present and the future. He comes with good recommendations, like the Nigerian champion. Last season he scored 14 goals, if he played all the matches until the end, he could also become the top scorer of the championship. He is a player with penetration, speed and concreteness and with rarely seen physical strength.

It can mean an appropriate choice for the purpose of realizing our competitive goals, but also for a further step forward from Maribor, which the players from Nigeria often prove as a breeding ground for talent. In the meantime, he has already found himself under the scrutiny of many clubs, so we managed to catch the right moment to lure him to Ljudski vrt. From the beginning of the talks, he had a desire to come,Marko Ĺ uler.

The contract has been signed for three years, but it will still be necessary to wait for the arrival to arrange the paperwork. The transitions between continents are currently specific and will require some time to coordinate all the necessary matters, so Ishaq will join the team later. Our new member, in anticipation of his first move to Europe, is already thoroughly preparing for a new challenge.

"I am very happy that we agreed and that I signed the contract. After playing in the top tier of the competition in Nigeria and after winning the championship, I had quite a few offers from clubs from Europe, I decided to move to Maribor, because I believe that the best Slovenian club is currently the most suitable choice for me as the next step on the development path. As a multiple national champion and a long-term participant in European competitions, Maribor makes it possible for a football player to do what he wants. I am looking forward to a new challenge in my career, I want to contribute my share on the field and I can't wait to meet my teammates, the professional staff and join the training sessions. I got a lot of information about the club, also heard about the great support of the fans. I believe that together we will bring them many reasons for satisfaction, with new victories and winning trophies.

Now 1-1 and on aggregate it's 2-2.
