Leave them to argue blindly. They think lecturers are earning millions every month and want more money.

For every 10 cars you see lecturers drive, 8 are from loans and cooperatives. They can't save to buy a car, but here we are arguing that they shouldn't worry about salary but just dey teach empty headed students who spend more time having sex and smoking weed than reading.

Shebi cutoff Is now 140? Lmfao the best of the olodos are coming to the university now lmao
This is a summary of the mindset of a nigeria university lecturer.someone employed to chart a course, direct and educate his student loothe, ignore and intimidate them.yes,i quess you were once an olodo weed smoking student as well. Most of you so lecturers are not well qualified and trained for the job.expecially you,how would impart with this your ill mannered, temperamental and peevish mien. This is the problem, they only care about their pay rise and jettison the academic welfare of their student

You are not a qualified lecturer yet but an assistant to a lecturer, you are only being paid stipend. stop grandstanding

You're a fool to think in a lecturer, but no wham, it's how your brain works so i'm not worried. Your writeup is riddled with so many inconsistencies, I wonder who you managed to pass WAEC. Lmfao nobody in your nuclear and extended family can clean my shoes, let's not even talk about standing in the same place to talk. Rubbish.

Is this how you're teaching those kids? No wonder they've decided to hold your salary lmao. Hunger go kill you.

If you can't afford a private university, ASUU is fighting for you.

If you're a hater of covenant, Madonna, landmark, KDUM, Tansian and other high fee universities then ASUU is fighting for you.

If you still want your children to benefit from good academics then ASUU is fighting for you.

If you still want your certificate to be valid and used to process your documents to Japa out of this country then ASUU is fighting for you (Remember Abia state polytechnic).

If you want to see Nigeria progress then ASUU is fighting for you.

The university is the last of our public school system left to be conquered by the political elites. They came for the primary schools we applauded them, after all primary education doesn't matter, private primary schools can do the job, then they came for the secondary education, we still left them to destroy it, the effect is examination malpractice. Lastly, they are targeting the peak of our education and people are blaming the defenders and not the offenders. If the government destroys our public universities then education will only be limited to the elites and those who intend to leave naija using their certificates will be stock cos your certificate won't be acceptable in any country.

Confucius said "when workers are paid well they're motivated to work well"

How much do you pay primary school teachers, how much do you pay secondary school teachers. You pay a teacher #10k in private school and you expect him to do wonders.

Those backing the government don't know that they are promoting illiteracy and backwardness. Most countries don't value our certificates. I wonder want becomes of you after studying medicine, nursings, engineering, physics, chemistry etc and you are told that your certificate is not recognize abroad then you'll understand what you've opted to defend. What of those doing PhD and MSc just to finish and be informed that you can't go beyond Nigeria with your PG certificate. God forbid

If ASUU perish we all perish

Stay blessed

How did dey conquer our primary and secondary school as u stated?

Wot has private school teacher receiving 10k monthly to do with wot is at stake here?

Maybe that is what obtains in your university...it's not a general thing...in most federal universities...selling of handouts is not allowed...only state unis get away with such a thing..... federal can only sell laboratory manuals...

If they're paid well....they won't have to run to private Unis for extra pay...it's stressful even for those who do it.

As for government breaking their wings...that's not possible... evey government is only limited to 8years maximum...ASUU outlives them

Person wey go college of education naim you dey follow drag? You mess up bro. Leave the guy. He hasn't been paid at his teaching job, hence the time to come online and type nonsense lmao

And risk being shot because of what?

Because of ASUU ridiculous demands.

I think when the students are ready to resume. We will shun and protest ASUU.

Selfish people

Not selfish per say, but “the most selfish” set of people.

The president is too weak sef, I wish I was the one in power.

Why would they keep these guys at home for 5months, just why?

We all know the Federal government can’t meet all their demands, but why can’t ASUU understand the situation of the country and meet the government half way for the sake of the students?

But no, ASUU wants it all.

Personally, I don’t really understand why people are backing ASUU.

ASUU are fighting for ASUU (their pockets) not for the Nigerian students.

During my undergraduate days, we witnessed series of strikes, the government settled them on several occasions but students still sat on bare floor just to attend lectures.

Greedy set of people.

Show me where Govt settled ASUU on all demands and I'll give you 10k now now now.

Bring proof that it's ASUU and not govt that is not honouring agreements.

You think it's ASUU that will buy chairs and tables and infrastructure for school?

Please which Federal university in Nigeria pays a PhD holder 150k? I used to believe they earn up to 200k (or more) cos they engage in other work loads like teaching diploma and part-time students, and since this programs aren't recognized by the government, the university (not the government) pays them for it.

This means that at the end of the month, if you're to add up all payments they receive, it would certainly exceed 150k.

Let them deceive you into accepting the tokens they dole out to you as the best returns available....it's in twenty twenty five years don that you'll know the disservice you're doing your lineage and offspring with this your tacit agreement to the destruction of tertiary education for the masses... University education is not necessary you say.... How many jobs adverts have you seen, where they pay reasonable sums for non graduates

The highest paid job in Nigeria is Nigeria politicians. You don't need a university degree for that either president, senator down to your local government chairman. They are all well paid than your professors. Continue deceiving yourself there

You deserve to be insulted and you should be. Just open mouth waaa like without common sense.

You expect lecturers in 2022 with families to keep earning 120k a month to teach 5 times a week, and a professor to earn 400k after more than 49 years in service.

You're a buffoon and I'm really been nice with the insult.

Asswipe.
Sorry to say, you're daft for defending these lecturers

Lecturers that does nothing, in my dept in OAU

Our lecturers starts work 5/6 weeks after resumption
In fact, in the whole of 12 weeks of a semester, they only come around 4/5 times, and by then, they will just be saying rubbish and giving you some material without understanding

What's the essence of being a professor if you can't impact knowledge on students

In fact they shouldnt be payed anything more than 50k cos they are doing nothing

In saner climes like you mentioned, they pay lecturers very well lmao. Not the peanuts they are paid here. You must be foolish to think the govt cares about students the way ASUU does. The little improvements you see in universities was fought for by ASUU. Left to govt, build the school and let it rot will be the order of the day.

If they ask students to pay school fees of 200k to foot the bill of the schools, students will riot. So where will schools see money to run themselves when govt doesn't intervene?
