Lol this window has been somewhat depressing and Chelsea's issues with Barca diverted attention to our shortcomings.

Basically ETH needs a striker like Sesko, a wild forward like Anthony, a midfielder in FDJ. I'm surprised he's looking for a GK this window instead of a RB. Murtough and co do something abeg.

Personally the squad isn't as bad as last season made it out to be. When no defined system is deployed, even the few world class parts will stagnate and the the system will clog itself.

A well defined and oiled system on the other hand makes the sum of the parts better, this is what ETH is bringing I believe. Nevertheless, the squad needs strengthening or we may forget about top 4 once again.

If only we had a coach who could add one to two, we could have easily made top 4 or even top 3 last season.

We need a DM and a striker without that no top 4 for us. apart from dalot we don't have any decent RB. One injury to Fred and our season is over. Because he's the most important midfielder in manutd currently no one can bring what he's doing currently

Last season's top 4 are the current best 4 managers in the league. ETH has yet to prove he's on their level. So he has a lot of work cut out for him.

Ok. But think of it this way.

Compared to last season we might be starting this season with the same senior attackers MINUS Ronaldo, Cavani, Greenwood.

Compared to last season we might be starting this season with the same senior midfielders PLUS Eriksen but MINUS Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Mata.

The squad quality/depth in attack and midfield is way worse than it was last season. The highly rated brand new manager is a great coach not a great magician.
