Konjiboii:Lol, your mindset is that the North is same, for the record I am in North Central. Leaving Enugu State back to Akwanga is one of the best decision I have ever made. I really don't need to convince anyone. This is a place where an average Nigerian can live comfortably if you have what you do ; remote job, a business, etc. Do search for Nasarawa State on Google yourself, check for kidnapping news and see how many have occurred. |

ShedrachU:I sure know it's not same everywhere, but you can't rule out the possibility of it happening especially while on transit to your preferred destination considering the level of insecurities now in the country. And I am seriously considering leaving Lagos, though I am not tech savvy and if I want to go into business which can you advice one to do in such place, and how did you get to know Akwanga. You know Google will not give all necessary details, I an still weighing my options of going back to where I served or settle in neigbouring Ogun State... These jobs are not encouraging before I exhaust my savings to keep up. |

cayorday89:I served in same Akwanga, have been there almost 2 years. I am a native of Enugu State. I understand your point in the risk of traveling, it's every where. Personally, I don't fancy rushing home for anything. I am into agrbusiness I own a sweet potato farm and offer soil management services for commercial farmers (I am a graduate of soil science) and Nasarawa State is an agro state, I also teach in a private school. If I want to take time off to relax I travel to nearby Markudi (I have a relative there). Enugu is expensive and I had nothing doing then, I learnt graphic design but the market seem saturated. Where I stay, there are a lot of business opportunities if you wish to venture into business. Business works with location as a factor. As for rent, you can get a good self contained at ₦40,000, single room at ₦25-30k Of course, there are a lot of security hullabaloo in the country, but it's not a reason to give ourselves tension and not push for what we want. No be today security wahala start nah. |

cayorday89:Bro, just like you have robbers, cultists and ritualists down south but you are still alive ( glory be to God). There are also bandits and kidnappers up north but na God dey save him children. Believe me there are alot of southerners up here who are still going about their normal day to day life without the slightest fear. Bro, sometimes I consider myself lucky to be living in the northern part of the country. Apart from the north, I don't think there's any place in nigeria that me and my four younger siblings would be able to survive on less than 50k a day, still eating three square meals. Even if I decide to get married now and give birth , despite the prevailing economic challenges, I would still find a way to carry everyone along quite comfortably in our late parent's house, By the way, we are orphans and my younger ones are still tender. Twice, I have been asked to come over to Lagos and ogun by friends for a better job but I declined as the salary that was promised was not more than a 100k. If it were only me, I would have jumped on the offer but I fear that after removing the cost of transportation, feeding and other costs, there wouldn't be enough money left to send to my younger siblings in kano state. Although, I still wish to relocate to the southern part of the country if God expands my sustenance. I just love and admire the can -do- spirit of the folks down there. I want to be among the folks thst are moving boldly forward. Here in the north is quite boring for an ambitious graduate like me who's surrounded by illiterates and fanatics who always resign everything to fate rather than striving to improve themselves and their environment. Their mentality of views of life is so achaic and ridiculous. Sometimes I can't help thinking that my mates in the south are already way ahead of me by virtue of their environment. |

azizsystem:Seriously, if one does not have a sure plug to stay with in Lagos there is no point coming only to end up barely surviving there except you have a well laid out plan or a good mouth watering offer or at best above average pay. House rent alone is consuming large portion of one's income, transport and now high cost of foodstuffs. For me, I will keep my options open for now, my issue is just the language barrier and knowing someone. All the best for us and our expectations. |
