why should ASUU depend on the inefficient FG for help.
The university is where the society is suppose to run to for help, but we have the university running to the society for help. well I'm not surprised, when the PhD certificate most of them parade is just mere paper with no intricate value.

In a true country, the teachers and lecturers are paid highly, and they are motivated to treat the student kindly, impacting knowledge and experiences to the students, whereas in Nigeria, they are not motivated, resulting in poor products from the Universities

The importance of taking good care of the teachers and lecturers is underestimated, despite that, the impact of Teachers on their students may seem trivial, i think for African Students, they are more inclined to look up to their teachers, so that, even what seems irrelevant, could go a long way.

You don't even know your anything. Is it new to you about the rule of no work, no pay?
Ask workers they will tell you better. Only if the government decides, there's nothing new here.

ASUU leadership didn't consider the state of Nigeria's economy before embarking on this strike. Embarking on this kind of long strike at a time when Nigeria statehood is facing all manners of problems is not a wise thing to do. Radicalism should be counterbalanced by realistic reasoning.

Right now the Federal Government borrows to pay salaries. We'll soon get to a point where the Federal Government starts laying off workers. And ASUU is radically asking for salary increase; after all Senators are receiving huge money. If every Federal worker starts reasoning that way, what do you think will happen?

IT'S SO UNFORTUNATE THAT NIGERIANS ARE SHALLOW MINDED.
THESE SAME LECTURES SINGLE HANDEDLY DESTROYED NIGERIANS. SO MANY OF THESE YAHOO BOYS AND MONEY RITUALISTS ARE GRADUATES WHO HAS BEEN ACADEMICALLY DESTROYED. THESE LECTURES DESTROY STUDENST LIKE THEY DESTROY GARBAGES. IN UNILORIN WHERE I GRADUATED FROM, A COURSE MATE OF MINE WAS TOLD BY HIS LECTURER "ME I DIDN'T ACHIEVE FIRST CLASS AND YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE FIRST CLASS? NEVER". THE STUDENT WAS CALLED "THERAJA". MANY PEOPLE CAN BEAR WITNESS..Some boys had 3rd class in their 1st degree, went abroad for masters and ALL 5 of them had 1st class in Malaysia, UK, etc. One of them is now a lecturer in that same unilorin. A student's result was declared missing by 7lecturers. We all knew he was victimized.they rape female students and give them results. A boy was dismissed for poor results, he went to Ukréìn and bagged 1st class in 1st degree and masters.

I don't pity any ASUU nor LECTURER.

Department of mathematics, Agric, statistics, etc. They are notorious for these. Oloyede sanitized all that. Thanks to him.

That's because the strike has become sort of a national leave for ASUU. What's the essence of striking every year just to still be on same issues?

In my university a list is usually written for senior university staff which is then submitted to inec. Usually a whole university is posted to a neighboring state.

Why should they get paid when they are not working?

The only reason why they have not tried to bend and end the strike is because they know they will still pay at the very end.

At the end of the day, it's the students that will lose. Most people will exceed the age limit of 30, and may not qualify to go and serve because of ASUU strike.

This is the most senseless comment i have seen on nairaland.

In a sane country, they will still get paid but we are living in an insane country, so some people(like you) are already used to the system so you see abnormal things as normal.

Whether they get paid or not, the issue should be solved once and for all and that is the job of the government. We can't have some people stealing 80billion and you can't solve simple ASUU problems.

Now they have stopped paying them, have the issue been solved?

cuz fg keeps promising then the strike is called off, nothing is done they go on strike again .so it's always the same issue. Instead of promises while not implement the 2009 agreement and ngige is d one handling it.make we forget sch for now till obi becomes president it's just remaining 5 months we go bear am

Yes, often, we ignore foundational issues, that persist and grow, which becomes insolubilities, due to disregarding their continuous impact .
