I'm starting my canada immigration process with an Agency called Greenlight immigration. Please I want advice to know my chances. They said my best option is to immigrant to Canada via Work visa. Does anybody know about this agency and it they are to be trusted? And also how long does it take for everything to pull through? Please I need as much response as possible. Thanks
read their reviews on google. Filter from the lowest reviews cos They have lots of ‘fake’ good reviews done my themselves . We keep saying these things those guys will only take your money and do nothing for you. Avoid them. Agencies legally are not allowed to arrange or find job for you for work visa in Canada. You have to get the job yourself by applying for several jobs. If your occupation is in demand and the employer is willing to sponsor they will offer you a job. But its not easy

Let’s face it, the entire blame lies with the government and its policy makers. It’s generally not in humans to be nice or altruistic, especially on economic matters. Most people would try to exploit any deficits in a government’s policy or try to use them to their advantage. This has bred different techniques of paying less taxes or exploiting crude exchange rate policies. I’m sure even you will find yourself looking for a few holes once you get the Canada. If there’s an economic hole somewhere, best believe someone will try to exploit it. This has been studied severally in economics and is known as the efficient market hypothesis. Nigerians don’t owe the government altruism when it comes to the exchange rate which is a purely economic reality. Nigerians only owe the government the duty of operating within the scope of the law. It’s the government’s duty to implement sound economic principles that will punish speculators or stem any actions which threaten the nation’s currency. Using force won’t cut it. I know people may have different opinions, but the confidence in the government is at an extreme low and you can’t blame those who would exploit this for economic benefits. It’s the law of the market and is as old as time itself. It’s up to the government to join in this game and to play it well.
We’ve dug ourselves into such a pit in Nigeria that it’s going to take more than just any government to get us out of it. Saying the entire blame lies with the government is just a lazy way of looking at it in my opinion. I know the government has a huge portion of the blame but I CAN also blame those who choose to exploit the system.

Congratulations!!! This journey is really a test of patience.

zannie:
OMG I can't believe I'm back here with my own testimony. I promised I'll be back to give God all the glory when I finally got the golden letter and to encourage someone, because all the golden mail stories gave me so much hope.

I started this whole process because my SIL was applying. I thought it was a good idea so I joined her. She got her PR seamlessly in 6 months so I thought ours was going to be that easy. Fate had other plans lol.
IELTS: 15/12/2018
WES completed: 30/01/2019
Jumped in the pool: Feb 2019, score 445. Stayed in the pool and lost 5 points due to birthday in July. Note that ITA cutoff scores just before we entered the pool were hovering around 435-439. Immediately we entered the pool, it rose sharply to 460s. As soon as I saw that scores weren't dropping, I quickly got my husband to go and write IELTS. It boosted our score to 459. I adjusted our score and the wait continued. We were lucky to get ITA because the cutoff was 459 but our profile was created before the tie break date.
ITA: 24/07/2019
AOR: 21/09/2019.
COMPLETE RADIO SILENCE! Sent about 20 webforms that went unanswered. We even ordered GCMS notes that we did not understand.
IRCC finally responded to one of my webforms and I was informed that our VO was Accra. That was when I decided to just take my mind off the entire process and wait on God.
This year, we decided to update our medicals on 24/04/2022. I sent webforms with the re-medicals and our change of address. More silence.
We even got my SIL who is in Canada to keep calling IRCC on our behalf. Still no new update from them. At one point, I thought they had cancelled our application.
One day, a friend who applied because of us, called us to tell us he just got his letter. We were confused because we know his application was months after ours. So he told us he was tired of his own waiting and got info to write a strongly worded letter to the immigration minister. We decided to do the same and sent a letter to the minister on 24/05/2022. Fortune finally smiled on us and we got a mail on 11/06/2022 for ADR to submit police report, passports for my husband and son, and schedule A for my husband and I. We submitted the documents on 7/7/2022 with our deadline being the next day (8th). On the 20th of July, I logged into our profile only to discover the documents were not transmitted. The devil really tried to work overtime but failed. Omo, I started sending webforms and reporting technical issues o. I begged and pleaded and cried. I didn't hear anything from them on that matter but on 25th July at 11pm, I saw a mail from them to check my account. I was so scared it was a rejection due to our docs not transmitting to them before our deadline. It was so heart wrenching to open my account and seeing that letter. I couldn't stop crying.

This journey has taught me the true meaning of patience, but I'm so happy it finally ended in praise. To all who are still in their waiting period, don't lose hope. It is definitely coming. Thank you so much to all old members of this thread i.e those who were here 2018/2019. This thread is a huge goldmine. Every single thing I learnt about this entire process was from here. Onto the next!!!!!

Good afternoon all, hope our day is going well.

I got a request letter in mycic account requesting I upload some documents to facilitate addition of my new born.

I thought a section will be created for her to upload documents into placeholders with labels BUT I observed just one placeholder (named replacement documents) was provided under my husband's section who is the principal applicant and it was labeled "KITS, APPLICATION FORMS".

Am I supposed to merge all the requested documents into one and upload?

I am asking because I know from experience with the application that placeholders have size limit.

Please I await your response biko as I am confused.

In my case, I merged all the documents as one file and uploaded it.

I however had to use a trick because the file was almost unreadable after several compressions. Here is what I did.

I figured (or guessed) that the barcode generated by the form after filling it is the most important part of the form. That's because it contains all the data I punched in the form.

So after filling, printing, and signing the form, I scanned the barcode and signature page different from where I have the other data.

I did medium compression for the barcode and signature pages and then extreme compression for the other pages.

I then merged the two files together and uploaded to my account.

PS: I downloaded a barcode scanner app to double check the information on the file before uploading.

I hope this helps

Most banks can provide PDF copies of bank statements from anywhere. For GT you can request from the app.
Another option is move you cash to Foreign currency and use that as POF anytime

SUCCESS to everybody hoping to relocate to Canada and CONGRATULATIONS to those already here.

Briefly, let me share some important info/update necessary to know while you plan to come or already landed.

PREPARE
While waiting for PPR, get yourself ready by asking relevant questions about your desired place of residence (Province and City). Ask about skills that sells, nature of living, relevant jobs but please never listen to people who tell you about security, dish washing and cleaning. I am not saying these are bad jobs but trying to let you know these set of ppl may have missed opportunities and may never know what the land is full of by believing your skills, experiences and studies in Nigeria won't land you a professional job.

Prepare by learning IT skills or other skills set you already researched about, check job descriptions, get yourself an eye catching Resume that will attract the attention of hirers and keep learning those skills listed you don't have. If you do not already know how to drive a car, get some driving lessons and be acquainted with the best principle of driving ing so you do not have to spend so much learning to drive here. Tutors charge btw C$50 to C$100 (#26,000 to #52,000)per hour whereas you can get a tutor driving school in Nigeria for less than #50,000.

When you get you PPR, do not forget to get enough soup and stew spices. Get food stuffs that you won't have to spend too much on, African food is not so cheap hence you don't want to be spending most of your naira as you arrive.

Not all clothes you wore in Nigeria you need to bring here. Select a few but do not forget winter clothes of you are coming in winter. 1 or 2 Winter jacket and some sweaters is enough so you won't take all the space in your luggage.

NB: Buy a digital scale that will help you measure your bags as you plan. This is to avoid embarrassing moments or having to pay extra for things you could have let go.

While you arrive, something important to note is exchange rates. Currently I know you have already seen how things are in Nigeria when it cones to value of Naira to other currencies. As you may be tempted to put some good money in your 9ja account showing millions, don't also forget its value loss.

Very true every migrating individual gas family or/and friends in Nigeria to send money, it is imparative to know that there are APPS you can use to send instant cash at good rates instead of doing western union or piling money in you Nigeria account incase need arises from home. One of the App is Lemonade.

Lemonade currently trades C$1 to #527. Save you cash in C$ (CAD) transfer to Lemonade anytime you need it and get it to the desired friend, family or project in 9ja.

Use my link and earn C$30 (#15,810)

https://referral.lemonade.finance/invite/w795

Attached is a screenshot of the rate as at today using C$30 for example

You can always request for bank statements using internet banking or the bank’s mobile app (for most banks). These days they provide stamped and signed statements in pdf format straight to your inbox. If you have an account with a bank in UK, you can walk into the bank to request for a bank statement (they might just need an id and your atm card to process the bank statement).

Many of them don’t even travel. Nigerians are part of the main problem in that country. Everybody is always trying to find loopholes to game the system. They’ll book tickets, collect PTA, cancel trip and then sell the dollars at a higher rate. Look up the defaulters list online, there’s thousands of people on it but that’s still not deterring them. Now to get PTA is kuku a problem. Most people aren’t getting it anymore cuz Nigerians have sha spoilt it. I just wish we weren’t so selfish sometimes.

I didn’t sleep well last night, probably my worst night ever and I’m not even over it yet.
My POF is in Naira because IRCC uses official rate which happened to be around N8.5m for a family of 4. If I change in the black market and put in dom account at the rate of 580 to $ then, it won’ t be enough to meet up the 25kplus CAD for family of 4 so I picked the easiest option (leave it in naira) since that is all we have.
Last night I heard $ is now 710, so that is how all my life savings is depreciating for my eye like that, and ITA has not come. Still waiting for PNP to boost my score if possible since EE is still 500ish now. I’m sad but this japa is like my plan A. Yes I have a job here but I am tired!
I can’t even change the money again at 710 nah, my body is still shaking and I hope putting this out here will make me better

Lol we are in the same boat oh. Family of 4. No ITa. Hoping for PNP. Left POF in naira because of official conversion rate when I started this journey last year. In naira I still have the POF but my fear is what happens when it's time to Travel? Our money will be so worthless. It's a shame what our leaders have done to our naira.

Hi. Please, who knows if there'll be any need to declare marriage to IRCC after receiving COPR? Particularly, when the marriage is to a Canadian PR.

Allegory:

You should ask in the ‘Canada student visa’ thread because those people have more answers about study visa applications, here is FSW. I’d sha say that no use trying to hide your Masters since they’ll still see it. Just ask about ways to justify a new Masters degree.

And on the 8th day, Satan invented manual labour: (Government is not reason... Government is Force!)
Hello. It's been nearly 2 months since I landed and this is an update that I feel dovetails nicely with the recent discussion on government/citizens. Against all advice, I proceeded to do Ogoaja work! I wasn't pressed for cash, as my POF was largely untouched, and accommodation wasn't an urgent concern either, as I still had 2 weeks left at the Airbnb I booked. I had a couple of interviews for desk jobs/customer service lined up but I took the physically-demanding option for character development (make the story for sweet when I dey narrate my own odyssey grin grin) and every day I wonder if I no be suffer-head cause, mehn, the work is hard.
Right from day 1, my employer was very concerned about my safety. 'Take breaks', 'tie your laces', 'don't hurt your back', 'don't carry too much stuff', 'if you need any help, call me' etc etc. I must admit that it was a bit of a culture shock to me. Employer wey send your papa? Chinese employer wey send your papa for ogoaja work?? (My bosses are nice sha. Outside of work, they treat me very nicely too). I couldn't quite wrap my head around it. I also noticed that at every controlled intersection, motorists yielded right of way to me. Every time. 1 polite motorist, I can understand. 10? 20? No problem. But everyone? No na, the story no clear. I also walk past construction sites/projects daily and the safety routine is the same. Bright vests, hard hats, work-boots etc etc. When you factor in the complete absence of police officers in my area, you begin to wonder if you're in a simulation or na real-life. So I did some investigation and it finally made sense to me. I'll use an example to illustrate my findings.

Scenario: Worker at a construction site isn't wearing a hard-hat, safety shoes and bright-coloured vests.

Step 1:
Nigerian response: It's just another day at the office.
Toronto response: One passerby who doesn't know or care about the site and will probably forget about the site in 2 seconds flat calls the authorities.
Step 2
Nigerian response: Local government council comes to spray 'stop work' on your fence. You go to the office and settle the matter.
Toronto response: Government official comes. God wants to punish you that day so 2 more workers are in the same situation as worker 1. Official asks to see foreman. With a smile, "ogbeni ona don enter my hand today". Politely engages with foreman, shows remarkable empathy when foreman explains that rising costs of safety gear mean some folks don't have but they'll get it today, talks about inflation and how hard things are with foreman before proceeding to give foreman a ticket: safety shoes - $380, hat - $250, vest - $190, safety rope - $100. For each worker. Then the company pays the same amount. For each worker. All of a sudden your staring a $5000+ bill that you must pay or you'll face even stiffer punishment all because Ciroma, Chukwuma and Adekunle refused to wear safety gear. Errhm, don't try to settle with the official cos na prison straight. Just respect yourself and pay to the government account.

If you drive like Dominic Torreto and cause accident, you're finished. Jam person for road e no die? You're finished. The person die? Finished. Wound person intentionally or through negligence? You better have a good lawyer cause that lawsuit go bloody. In short, every offence has a ridiculously high fine attached to it.

It isn't kindness that makes the system here work. It is the fear of the government. The fear of consequences that come when you fall on the wrong side of the law. The laws are designed to milk you dry with draconian fines if you offend and if you can't pay, or you're a serial repeat-offender, na prison straight. The government officials I've observed do not hate or love you, they feel your pain but are remorseless when it comes to punishing offenders. That's why the mantra here appears to be 'Ija wa, Ija osi... always guiding' which roughly translates to 'bro, err on the side of caution.'
Having said that, if you obey the law, nobody send you for here o! Just paro lo!!
