i was scrolling through a feed on Facebook and I came across a post about guns and the military enthusiasts were debating between the AK-47 and the M-16 AR which is a better weapon for extraction and the reason why it tend to be better than the latter. We all know the current situation in our country and how the Nigerian military force are trying to subdue attacks from unknown gunmen/herdsmen and the rifle they are commonly seen with is the well known Ak-47 which got me thinking if the military higher ups cannot provide more better ammunition and military gadgets for their fight against insurgency? Why are there scarce in advance military grade weapons? Is any reasonable fact about the Ak-47 better than any automatic rifles? Please share your thoughts. Dominique Mynd44 Lalasticlala

The M16 had a higher rate of fire, 700-950 rpm compared to the 600 rpm of the AK-47, and most shooters — including those that have used the weapons in combat — have tended to agree that the M16 is the more accurate. A trade-off is that the accuracy and range don't equate to penetration 5 Likes |

AK-47 are more sophisticated and reliable. M-16 AR has a better range up to 500mm and has a better penatrating power. Give me AK-47 any time any day. It's more durable, sophisticated and reliable. 9 Likes 1 Share |

The ak 47 is more preferable than the m16, the weapon is light, easy to operate and it does not jam easily. During the Vietnam war there were occasions where American soldiers wielding m16 rifle dropped their weapons and pick up ak 47 seized from Vietnamese soldiers. Give me a Romanian ak47 with 9 drum magazine and I will single handedly take on the entire Babylonian army. 7 Likes |

The speed of AK47 is 2x of the speed of it's sound and d penetrating power is like that of a leaser shot at a distance of 50millimeter away from plastic n d chances of jams is reduced to 23% n if it actually occurs, it takes an average of 15-55 seconds to disengage n reload to start firing. For M16. Covers more range n has a speed of light penetrating power. Remember. No man has ever survive a close range shot from M16.
