I didn't say Ndidi should have excellent passing technique
I get you. What I was trying to say is he is not that bad especially playing for a team like Leceister.

On the Ndidi and Mikel argument....
Why are we not taking into context, the number of games played and the fact that Ndidi has more goal contributions. cheesy

But...I don't like how Mikel just faded after that Olympic tournament. That was the beginning of our NT woes.

Mikel deserves a statue.... Lemme call Okorocha

DLPs also operate as CDMs with just a slightly different interpretation of the role. That's common knowledge.

And trust me, I am just being factual on Ndidi's potentials. He remains Nigeria's most rated and most valuable midfielder in world football today but let us not overrate his abilities abeg. Dude's ballplaying deficiencies is one of the major reasons we have suffered in Major tournaments recently when the going gets tough.

20/21 season remains his peak season so far at club level and he hasn't even replicated that in the GWG or even lately for Leicester before his injuries kicked in.

mostob:
Jorginho, Xhaka and Shelvey are DLPs.
Anyway, what I was trying to establish is that a lot of things can affect the passing technique of a player. Correct me if I'm wrong but Partey was not this good with passes when he was at atletico. For a player that was converted from a defender to a midfielder and plays for a team like Leceister, let's cut Ndidi some slacks abeg.
Fact is Ndidi might actually improve his passing technique if he is playing for a team like Barca and city.

Because I already mentioned in my Argument that Javier Mascherano also had 1 goal throughout his Barca career (2010/11 to 2017/2018) and 2 goals again throughout his Liverpool career (06/07 to 09/10) and does that also make Ndidi better than him??

That he has more goals and assists for Leicester make him better than either Mikel or Mascherano? Is that it?? That logic doesn't hold my man.

It's just like saying Zlatan is better than Ronaldo De Lima because he also has more goals than him career wise.

Also, since we talking goals and assists... how many goals does he even have for the Super Eagles? Do you realise he hasn't scored ONE for us yet?

Let this rest.

Ndidi is our biggest midfield name in the current generation but he isn't even half the player Mikel was in his time. That is the Truth and just a pointer to how much we fell in quality in the middle after Mikel left the scene.

You know I am a Nacho super fan in here. My days speaking for Iheanacho are well documented in here but I can tell you this without bias... Ndidi has more fire than Nacho.

Nacho is crazily talented. His left foot is arguably one of the best in the continent but no real push on his part it seems. He's just okay with his talent doing the talking whenever it can. We all saw what a Nacho given a good run of games can produce in a full season as we saw in the 20/21 season.

Ndidi on the other hand at least tries to keep pushing. You can see that fire in his eyes. But my brother, one cannot give beyond what he has. Ndidi's deficiencies are clear and we must come to accept it and build a way around it by always pairing him with a true midfield conductor in the person of Alex Iwobi (My First choice Deeplying CM) while Aribo is freed up to play closer to the box.

We kid ourselves if we keep playing Ndidi-Aribo deep in midfield. E no go work in the long run when up against "true" opposition.

Kelechi Nwakali has been assigned the Jersey #11 at SD Ponferradina ahead of 22/23 La Liga Smartbank.

He wore #16 in the two friendlies he featured in vs Real Valladolid and Sporting Gijon.

SD Ponferradina is reportedly billed to play another friendly this Wednesday vs Deportivo La Coruna barring any last minute changes.

There can never be an argument until Ndidi sign for a big club. NEVER. In mikel prime, he was competing for a position with the likes of makalele , ballack, Essien, lampard, ramirez who are ndidi present team mate

Look alhassan yusif will soon overtake him as pur best midfielder in a few years time. Im baffled he has not yet been invited. He is a natural midfielder and not a converted one. If he keeps improving a top 5 league team will snap him up

Our national team needs natural midfielders and you are righr
Joe Aribo is not a natural central midfield conductor Kelechi Nwakali is simply better in that aspect of the game
people may underrate him but supernerd to be honest
if Kelechi Nwakali or Alhassan Yusuf played against Ghana we would have won.
Both or one of them could have taken the midfield from Thomas partey but Eguavon got confused.
Time will prove me right.
The issue is it takes time to get into these big leagues of Europe but club form is not everthing.
Also, ovie ejaria should be drafted into our midfield to see what he can do

I'm actually talking about their club situation. Both of them have the quality to secure big moves from Leceister...don't know why they're still staying put.

As for Ndidi-Aribo partnership, it can never work. Ndidi-Iwobi is actually better in a 2 man Midfield

Ndidi vs Mikel in the premier league

Thank you very much Danny.

Yours is showing the entirety of Mikel's and Ndidi's stats for Chelsea and Leicester in all competitions and not just the EPL but it still does near perfect justice.

And just in case some wonder how I got my tackle success rate % for both Mikel and Ndidi, let it be known it also came from this same source Danny used. THE EPL SITE.

To those who love maths like myself, calculate Ndidi's 464/755 tackles won vs Mikel's 507/655 tackles won and show me the true tackles %.

You will be having something around 61-62% for Ndidi and 77-78% for Mikel.

My 62% and 78% mentions were EPL-specific and didn't even take other comps into account. See it below

NDidI Is DefENsiVeLY bETteR ThAn mIKeL *Lol* grin

Eye test x Stats don't agree with such assertions.

Mikel remains more than twice Ndidi is today as DM, CM and as an allround midfield linchpin.

I rest on this matter x2.

Note below:

Frame 1. For Mikel.

Frame 2. For Ndidi.

Honestly time will tell on Ndidi and the potential for an Elite move coz with the way he picks up injuries now, I am becoming concerned that it could be a factor going forward.

Hoping he returns to his best physical shape soon again.

As for our midfield combo, hmmm.... I just pray Peseiro doesn't deviate from the way he uses Iwobi now coz his deployment of Iwobi in the middle is going to be key to how our midfield works.

Fact is Barcelona didn't really go for him that's why Chelsea was able to sign him. Barca is after Benardo Silva for now.
Fact is if Xavi tells Laporta and alemany he wants Tuchel's GF as his second wife, there's nothing Chelsea can do about it grin grin grin

True, Laporta and Xavi want Bernardo Silva and haven't hidden that fact even though high prices are being quoted for the move to happen plus FDJ should be gone too eventually.

But also true, is that Barca were truly interested in Carney.

But @bolded.... You are taking this Barca summer window Harassment too far. Habamana!!! grin

Forgiveness come see wetin Boehly don cause. They say even Tuchel's GF/Wife is not safe if she is also "wanted" by Xavi. Lol

Your last words here IS the Conclusion of the whole matter on the Super Eagles midfield conundrum. The lack of "Tactically sound Options" in the middle.

But I sure hope Peseiro shuns the talks and whispers of football ignoramuses out there (have more of them forming on twitter where Peseiro is) and open his eyes to see the other options that can come in and add value, quality and tactical depths to our Middle game coz they are there and only need be applied right.

Yep, the £20Million reports are spot on. Carney to Chelsea to 100% done.

David Ornstein also reports Chelsea are having direct talks to sign Man Utd target, Frenkie De Jong.

So Carney and FDJ in this window to join Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho and co. Stiff Competition there for Carney. Time will tell.

Lol una dey waste una time on this one, same as Destiny Udogie. These are special talents that can hardly be overlooked by these European countries.

The hard pill is that we only get those ones not considered good enough for these European teams

A loan is possible. Time will tell.

Him leaving Villa for Chelsea is obviously not down to Playing Time. He sees Chelsea as the next step in his career and he is probably convinced about their plans for him.

But this discussion began majorly with our chances of capping the lad.
I trust you are convinced that him being loaned out could still give us a chance. But even that is no guarantee. The lad is 18. Will be 19 by October. I think he would still take his chances of waiting for his English Dreams like Eze is still doing even at age 24.

Read the bolded above.

I know where I stand on the "understanding ladder" as regards this even though I also say, "Time will tell".

So let Time tell.
