Ofor
Yellow pepper grinded with crayfish
Pomo
Ogiri opei
Bitter leaf. The long shredded ones.

Dissolved my ofor in palm oil with the opei and added to boiling meat stock and stired. Covered and allowed to done.

Won't unwashed bitterleaf be too bitter?
Some sellers in the market sell already washed ones. You can also boil it in a pot of water to remove the bitterness.

many use achi because it is cheaper and readily available but it's cocoyam. Though not a lot of people eat it. Some ethnic group forbid it.

I don't like coco yam sha. I've used achi before, I didn't like it. I'll give the ofor a try.

BTW,why is your post always making frontpage?

Or is it Myndd44? undecided

She is looking for a husband. That's why she desperately gets the mods to push her food posts to the front-page. So men that love food more than their lives would start sending dms cheesy

I know some foolish men that got into terrible marriages just because their spouse could cook very well while they were dating. Men don't be fooled cool

Please I need the help of good spirited Nairalanders,
I want to start Keke riding, instead of going from place to place in search of job or staying at home doing nothing. So I went to a Micro Finance Bank (Kenechukwu) in Nsukka and they requested for a 10% payment of the Keke before I could take it on high purchase. The 10% amounts to #130,000. I was able to get #40,000, remaining #90,000. Pls any amount would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Good. But be informed that if you cook the bitter leaf you bought from the market straight without thoroughly rewashing it to squeeze out more bitterness, na malaria herbs you go chop. grin

Channah1 it's important to warn your fans about this o.

Also, I'm seeing that uziza is added to ofe onugbu for the first time. I can only imagine how heavenly the combo would taste.

I'm trying it out this weekend.

Which is better to use as a thicker, for, achi or cocoyam?

Cocoyam... And if you really want the real taste, kindly use home prepared oil directly from the palmnut not just the red oil

More importantly, use ogiri Igbo, not ogiri okpei.

Kindly resist adding any other vegetables, just use the normal bitterleaf.

My problem with fisherman soup is the lack of uniformity.

The hotel I lodge when I travel to Uyo make the best! Fish, periwinkle, Pomo, okro, praws and uziza leaves. Green and rich to the eyes and taste.

But in the same Uyo, some fisherman soups just look and taste like stew to me .

In Jevnic restaurant, the fisherman soup there still doesn't look good.

At times the lil bitter taste makes it special for me. When small, I was the last person my siblings would call to taste the onugbu for them. Even if you have "họọ-ed" the onugbu just twice, I will tell you it's already good enough. At least it saved me from the gruelling task of "washing" the bitterleaf.

Some of the ingredients are strange such as ogiri okpei, ofor and uziza.

Also the soup is watery... But I commend your modest efforts so keep trying

I'm actually not a Yoruba but I've lived in Yoruba land, Lagos precisely for long

Any Yoruba man or woman campaigning for Obi should have a rethink and retrace their step back. Though this isn't supposed to be so but you see those IGBOS have turned this election to tribalistic one. They have even turn it to religious one

I will support and vote for Tinubu. He has more achievements, antecedents and legacies to point at as a governor and when he left government than EVERY other contestants

Tinubu is very much accommodating and tolerance than other contestants. IGBOS are taking political position in Lagos. IGBOS are civil servants in Lagos and other South western states. IGBOS are doing businesses freely in Lagos and other south western region

Please go to any eastern state to see if you'd see any Yoruba or Hausa man as ordinary councillor. It is a TABOO to the Igbo

ACHIEVEMENT- I WILL VOTE TINUBU
TOLERANCE & ACCOMMODATING- I WILL VOTE TINUBU

For the northerners who reside in the north you can ask any of your family or friends living in Lagos and other South western states they will tell you how Yoruba are so friendly, loving and accommodating. Go to the state headquarter at Alausa ikeja you'll see igbos holding top position without any discrimination

Go to east and see how all positions are occupied completely by all igbos.

An average IGBOS are resentful, spiteful, hateful, bittered et al. They literally see themselves better, superior and more sophisticated than other tribes.

PLEASE verify this my claim if you aren't aware of it and make a decision on who to campaign and vote for

I leave you to your conscience!!!

I have no need to counter you because you have demonstrated hypocrisy by campaigning for your own candidate after calling on the mods to enforce derailing on the same thread.

It's high time you became innovative because you saved these puerile jargons in your gallery and keep repeating them on every thread grin
