Is it Islamic custom to, instead of returning the bride price for a dead bride, immediately forward a replacement bride to be married off in her stead?

You are using Christianity to judge us.

Bride price or(mahr) marital gift is something tangible (money or something of value) a lady request for from the man she intends to marry and this is usually taken on the marriage day.

In this case,the lady, as God would have it did not live up to that day hence, anyone who is available can accept the man's proposal:and luckily, her sister was available and the man did the needful.

In Islaam,if I happen to pass away (may God grant us useful long life) my brother can propose and marry my wife and vice versa.

It's all about proposing and accepting/rejecting.

It seems you are reading my comment with a prejudice mindset.

There is nothing like transfer of bride price.

Every lady comes with her own bride price.

If the lady request for the same bride price as her late sister's there is one nothing wrong with that.

I hope this clarifies the point.??
