emerged01:Yes they supposed to stand and look while Christians like Deborah are killed under this jihadist govt. Imagine, even with a pastor VP they did that. If they had m-m now imagine the worst they will do. Not just that, they have the gust to bring a Boko Haram member as VP. God forbid. Yes CAN is supposed to be involved in Govt. If they don't the Christians will suffer. When CAN has been quiet for long weren't you guys saying they're not talking enough? And you, people that support apc are demons. You support people which party has made your country muh more poorer. Apc has done more than Pdp did that we remove them for but hypocrites like you are supporting them again cause you want a Yoruba man your benefactor to lead. God forbid. You hypocrites also know it is the turn of the igbos but you still want to lead. Maybe if you Yoruba win it now, 16 years later another Yoruba man will come out and say it is Yoruba turn...wicked people. I'm from Akwa ibom and even me know what equity mean. But devils like u all are doing the opposite yet you want unity. U want progress...how can that be? They can't be progress without equity. Lastly, you want Christians to be under Muslim rule for 24 years. Bros, ask yourself..will.muslim agree to be under Christian rule for 24 years? No. The Muslims will.begin to kill and destroy like their nature teach them too. |

But for clarity sake I'll give u an eg ... When my dad was in the hospital due to an accident, it was the church different churches came into the ward saw patients.. pay the bills of some, donated some things to some. Infact if we are to count how much different churches gave to us it was more than a 100k. Without that money we probably wouldn't have been able to do it alone. So yes, the church have been a helping hand ... So I hope you are gonna apologize since have given you an eg of what the church is doing. A personal experience |

Agboriotejoye:You are always saying jargons to confuse yourself the more. Most (99.9%) of the time I avoid reading your essays because it is a waste of my precious time. You quoted Jesus telling the disciples he sent out to greet those they met preaching the Gospel because if they are not against them, they are for them. You said Bishop is an administrative title and somebody must be ordained by another bishop. You said people cannot just make themselves bishop. Finally, you said person can be an excellent programmer but not a software engineer until he receives a degree from University. Babbling of a Social Media babbler. I encourage you to continue the babbling. Nairaland is an open field. Firstly, there are thousands of bishops in Nigeria. Apart from Catholics and Protestants in Nigeria, most of the early bishops and archbishops in Nigeria are ordained by Archbishops or Bishops from institutions abroad. Till date, Institutions abroad still ordain bishops and archbishops in Nigeria. Not every prophet or evangelist can submit his CALL or Head for Ordination by some men of God in Nigeria because he did not know the Spiritual kingdom they belong. I have attended Bishopric Ordination twice at Abuja where some pastors in Nigeria and some West Africa countries are ordained as Bishops by an Archbishop from institutions abroad. Only social media insanity will make an insane person think that somebody will just wake up and call himself a bishop without having a certificate of ordination. I have seen Bishop in Nigeria that ordained his pastors as Bishops to give them higher authority. When some of those pastors left the Church they dropped the Bishop title. Evangelist Kayode Williams did not speak because he is a bishop. He has been speaking to press for several years. It is only madness that would make a man to think that only a bishop can speak on a national issue. Secondly, several years ago, during Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Kris Okotie imbroglio, when his TV programs were suspended from some local TV stations on request by PFN, it is also possible CAN supported them. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome mentioned reasons why he is not a PFN or CAN member, I would not know if he is a member now. TB Joshua and several pastors are not members of CAN or PFN. There was a time Catholics Churches in Nigeria pulled out of CAN, later, they returned after being placated. CAN or PFN is not the same as the disciples Jesus sent out on evangelism. CAN or PFN is an association of people in the same profession who come together to fight for their own interest or the interest of the institutions they represented. The Disciples are sent by Jesus. Not all the members of CAN or PFN are sent by Jesus. By revelations which you and members of PFN or CAN cannot accept, we have Archbishop and pastors in hell already. The archbishop and the pastors in hell are being celebrated daily on social media and by CAN and PFN. I have seen Prophets who represented their Churches in CAN meetings who said they will not attend again because of revelations received of some people in the meeting. To think that only bishop can speak on national issue when Christian related matter is being debated is insanity. It is also high level of insanity to ask a person the Certificate of Ordination as a Bishop before you can know if he is qualified to speak. |

babaolofin:You wrote a lot of rubbish that I don't have any business responding to. What I can notice is you were just going on a merry-go-round and ascribing to me what I never implied. Well, in case you must know since you're so ignorant, even Kayode Williams know there's order in spiritual matters. A man of lesser office is not expected to openly defy or denounce those who are higher than him in the priestly order. You may not understand this but that's how it is. Which is why it's important for him to brandish his so-called Bishop title and claim divine authority in making his position known. I also find it amusing that you ignorantly made a distinction between members of CAN and disciples of Christ. It is obvious you let your dubious bias get the better of you. I won't want to waste much time on your tiring tirade filled with much trifles. Just watch how you quote me and the manner you refer to me. |

They will say everyone supporting Tinubu is paid. And when campaign starts and you see millions of supporter supporting Tinubu they will either wail or insult people of liking suffering. When Tinubu wins next year, they will wail more. |

desiredhome:Calling a dog a bad name in order to hang it for opposing the policy of your preferred party. CAN is doing what it was set up to do - protect the interest of Christians. MURIC and other Islamic organisations set up to protect muslim interests would have called for violence if APC presented a Christian/Christian candidates for the presidential election. Never in the history of nigeria had there ever been a same religion president/head of state and his vice. Abiola/Kingibe of 1993 elections would have been the first and it was thwarted. 1993 would have ushered in a new Nigeria whereby religion and tribal sentiments were not so important in politics. But that all changed with the introduction of sharia. Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen and now Bandits. Buhari then took the whole tribal and religious new level by Fulanization and islamization of his government. CAN is speaking the minds of millions of Christians. Except Tinubu's lackeys and Muslims, no one is supporting Tinubu's gamble of a Muslim/Muslim ticket. |

wirinet:I am a Christian and Tinubu is my most preferred candidate. I have lots of Christian friends who support Tinubu. From all four major contestants, Tinubu has the highest track record of all and I believe he can replicate his ingenuity in all of Nigeria. |
| Re: Bishop Kayode Williams Disagrees With CAN, Supports Tinubu by wirinet(m): 12:22pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
Perfectbeing:We are not talking about track record yet, although that track record can be disputed. If we are to compare the track records of all previous governors/ military administrators of lagos state, we would find that Tinubu's 8 year tenure was not extra ordinary. Lagos has been the commercial nerve Centre of Nigeria for decades, it doesn't take much to "perform". Anyway, we are talking about religious sentiments. A Muslim Muslim ticket is insensitive to the political sentiments of most Christians, particularly at this times, where Buhari had polarized the ethnic and religious atmosphere. Does it not stink of hypocrisy when ethnic sentiment was employed to choose the APC flag bearer (Yoruba lokan), but you want Christians to employ competency when it comes to religion. We might as well employ competency to choose a Fulani Fulani ticket or a Yoruba Yoruba ticket. |

wirinet:If a bank manager increases the revenue of first bank from 1 billion to 10 billion, will you disregard his ingenuity and say he only did that because first bank was already rich and had high revenue generation before him? Perhaps you would say first Bank is an old Bank that has been existing since 1875 and any one would be able to do what he did. |

Perfectbeing:Lagos State Government under the military could no go on an aggressive revenue generation drive. IGRs are generated by states through Pay-As-You-Earn Tax (PAYE), Direct Assessment, Road Taxes and revenues from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA)s. Its a function of population and the amount of commercial activities taking place in the state. Lagos state was already the commercial capital of Nigeria with huge revenue generating potential before Tinubu came in. Tinubu was not the one that built the infrastructures that made Lagos a commercial hob. |
| Re: Bishop Kayode Williams Disagrees With CAN, Supports Tinubu by Perfectbeing(m): 2:53pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
wirinet:You ended up saying nothing. Lagos as the commercial capital was generating a meagre sum of N600 million monthly before Tinubu and before he left Lagos was generating to 45-50 billion monthly. Whether it was through PAYE, Direct Assessment, Road Taxes and revenues from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA)s etc is another story entirely. What we know is that he was able to increase the IGR by a large scale. If I was to choose between a manager that did that for my company or a manager that saves while my bankers and cleaners went on strike for 13 whooping months, I will definitely choose the former. |
| Re: Bishop Kayode Williams Disagrees With CAN, Supports Tinubu by wirinet(m): 3:17pm On Aug 07, 2022 |
Perfectbeing:You guys are just employing lies and half truths to justify your dietification of Bola Tinubu. Lagos IGR as to when Tinubu took over in 1999 was not N600 million but about N1.1 billion, then the IGR when Tinubu was leaving in 2007 was about N7 billion and not 45-50 billion. As I said and as you failed to acknowledge, Tinubu did put any infrastructure in place that led to the increase in IGR. He only became more aggressive in the collection of taxes and revenues which that were the result of commercial activities before he became governor. Lagos already have the 2 major ports in the Country, the major airport and all major national and international companies were domiciled in Lagos. Over the years insecuries in other regions of Nigeria made more companies locate to Lagos. With the location of Dangote Refinery to Lagos, the IGR is set to even increase further. These were not caused by Tinubu. |
