Those villagers were terrorised as much as the people that were killed.
They noticed strange people that rode into the community in bikes, before they knew there was gun shots. By the time they mobilized and got there the people had left only for the villagers to find the gorey sight. Infact the house those northerners stayed is owned by a member of the community that had them to stay as Mai guard of which his fellow northerners came to stay with him. They have stayed there for years and part of the community.
The northerners there were part of the community and their loss is being grieved by the whole orogwe from what I hear.
After the first attack. It was the youths that notified the police of the incident.
Villagers especially women and children evacuated the village while youths including Northerners mobilized to arrange a vigilante setup incase the people attackers returned. On the 3rd or so day they actually did, the first house they went to was owned by a retired police officer, in the process of them breaking open his door he got his gun and opened fire on them killing 2 on the spot!
The village youths then invited the police and handed the dead invaders to them alone with their phones for the police to carry out proper investigation.

But another person in the earlier comment said he comes from the community and that those guys were scrap collectors
