This is old news. I have been singing this song since Eguavoen's nonsense at the Afcon. This below is one of my many posts on this midfield topic.

Same thing I have been saying in different forms on this thread.

I am the first person on this thread to point out Joe Aribo's deficiencies as a midfielder, we are now witnessing the change in roles at a more elite level. Even if his new coach decides to play him as a midfielder, it doesn't make him one. Aribo's major merit as a midfielder is his contributions to defense, but he can't even be classed as a destroyer and for obvious reasons.

In Super Eagles, as it stands, our best combination in midfield is what i term the W.I.N triumvirate. The acronym stands for Wilfred, Iwobi and Nwakali, with Ndidi deployed as a CDM, Iwobi and Nwakali as CM's. Iheanacho and Aribo can play behind Osimhen. I have done due diligence on the W.I.N trident and i can tell you that those three are the best we can combine for now, based on the unique strengths of each personnel, and the synergy their combo will provide. Ejuke and Sadiq Umar can also be deployed to play behind Osimhen.

Aribo will do well as a CF, SS and RW, time will prove me right.

Concerning Nwakali's rate of progress, i think his major setback might be related to attitude and deportment in character. Early successes can turn out to be a curse, as the wise King Solomon reveals in his book of proverbs.

It will please me to let you guys know that there is a great gap between talent and success. The most skilful may turn out to be the least successful. Some of you guys are just behaving like you don't know what i am saying, as if you don't witness this phenomena in the contemporary. There is more to success than just talent.

Kelechi Nwakali is a blessing. Dude is just good. How many, fail to see this leaves me in wonderment. I pray God helps that lad.

Yes. Very true. But her rival, Christine Mboma is also 19. So expect both ladies to keep giving each other challenges upon challenges as they mature and rise into their potentials.

That's a pile of rubbish. He's got no quality. We can wax lyrical about his skill set but the reality is what it is.

Please never again should you keep Nwakali and Aribo in the same sentence. Nwakali's only talent is in creative passing. Other than that, he cannot play at a high level beacause he does not keep up with the pace. He is not just hadworking enough, gets lost on the pitch, loses his man, makes poor tackles.

If you think talent only is what is needed in the premier league then you're mistaken.

Creative passing is an essential skill in football. Without creative passing football becomes athletic, unintelligent and it will be difficult ti score.
Playwrs like nwakali will allways be needed.
Stop worshipping these Europeans tget are not God your maker.
Nwakali is simply needed in tge sup5 eagles. Is the English league the only leagur in Europe.
As per tackles thud is what guardiola said about tackling.

Not "highly likely", we won't be participating.

International competitions like the FIBA world cup rarely make room for last minute inclusions. What got us thrown out that early in the first place wasn't FIBA's impatience really, FIBA would probably have given us more time if they could. It was Australia, being the host who wanted definitive answers on who and who will be participating as they had strict timelines to work with (Visas, Accomodations, custom made items to particular teams/players).

Even if Mali pulls out today, the chances of Nigeria being asked to replace is slim, they'll rather just leave the space blank

Philosopher, honestly you did note wrote this... Nwakili not getting it right should not negate European standard on football.

Kelechi Nwakili is talented and till now that assertion still based on U17 exploits, still very hard for me to pronounce Nwakili present Club, meaning the young man is really struggling.Sentiment brought him back to eagles in Afcon but failed to grab the opportunity... Imagine Amartey abi Partey would have lost with Nwakili in Ghana match, this is what always gives petrodollar guy ego to insult us,Partey that is first timer in Arsenal that Nwakili cannot break into....

Yes we won Afcon 1980 with only foreign born Tunji Banjo as pro but I want to tell you that Odegbami Segun,Adokiye Aimeasemeka,Christian Chuckwu,Felix Owolabi,Best Ogedegbe,Muda Lawal are the best we can offer at that time and how many professionals do we have in 80s.John Fashanu came three times and struggled all through in mere trainings,John Chiedozies cannot compete with what we have then, meaning we have good league but can we talk of that now,No bro.

Yes Keshi moving to Europe was even accidental,he was banned from national team for reporting late by Anthony Ikhazobo after he played for NNB in wafu cup final. He moved to Stade Abidjan, from there to Belgium the rest is history.Good decision by Keshi cos it paved way for mass exodus of Nigeria players to Europe and from there we started seeing differences between home and foreign based, meaning there is wide gap,so we will continue to rely on Europeans perception.

As you said,to those who still believe in Nwakili, time for him to prove them right and put doubters to shame but big question can present club give Nwakili the platform to rekindle his fading talent, just check out Isaac Success recently and you will quite agree with me that going to Udinese was a massive decision. How I wish Nwakili can get better platform to perform, still not getting the fact about FC. Zurich story.

Good to see Iwobi back and I wish he maintains the tempo, league just started and very good for him.Yes we have issue with midfield, left for Peseiro to find a way out.
