Can One Be Punished In A Work Place Without, Giving Code Of Conduct? by dubezra(op): 10:44pm On Aug 09, 2022

I was giving a query in my place of work(2nd month of employment), my boss stated the code(code 27) in the query later. But on my employment later and even till now I have not received the code of conduct document. My question is : Is someone suppose to be punished by his/her boss without first giving he/she the code of conduct?.

Every job has its code of conduct, you may not be given unless you request for it.
More reason we just have to be OBIDIENTLY Yusful at all times.

You should let him know you do not have the code of conduct he us quoting in the query. As for the query, it is genuine however, you can't be held by a code of conduct you had no access to.

That said, please check your emails and orientation documents to be sure you were not informed about the code of conduct.

its a query, which dwarves a reply. So respond, make it clear that u were NEVER given d CoC, so u weren't aware of any such rules. However tender your apology, promise not to do so anymore and demand for a copy of d CoC bcoz your dedicated to d betterment of d establishment.

Query is not always given on first offense, are you a repeat-offender?

Look for a HR person to speak to & an Employment lawyer .

Also spend time google for both HR person & Employment lawyer's prescriptive .

I think it's wrong to quote a section of the code of conduct that you were not given.
A query is not a punishment. It's an inquiry that must be attended to within a specific period.
Reply the query and request for the handbook or copy of the company's code of conduct to guide you while working in the company.

Hmm... not all offenses need to be explicitly stated in the code of conduct, and you certainly don't need the code of conduct to be aware that certain things shouldn't be done at a place of work. That said, the absence of code of conduct can be a valid excuse if the offense is subject to it. That is, if it is one that might not be considered an offense somewhere else. Whichever way, the code of conduct should have been given to you before or during your on-boarding period. Please request for it.

So because there is no conduct of conduct then you have liberty to do any how? If in homes, we have unwritten codes of acceptable behaviors. So if you do any how thinking there is no code then be prepared to be shown one or you go and establish your codeless business. Yes, it would be better for organisations to have codes or rules but where there none, workers need to be ethically responsible
