Alba3:I wasn't finding fault. I was only telling you development of lagos and lagos master plan can't be credited to Tinubu. It was baba's masterplan. I never said tinubu did nothing as well but the development under him was so slow, compared to what Jakande did when there was virtually nothing compared to what they receive as IGR now. Imagine saying the largest housing in Africa would be completed in 3 years and he achieved that. He also said literail would be done in 8years and had buhari not stopped him, he'd have achieved it. Let's forget what happened after Jakande left due to military interruption. 1999 is 22 years ago...yet, literail is moving at snail speed. We don't even know when the 4th mainland bridge would be started, with such huge allocation at their disposal. Tinubu may not be in government after his tenure but he's been actively involved. He decides who becomes governor, senator, fed reps or commissioner. His company is in charge of tax collection and all. Lagos had always been progressive. Shebi you cited the population increase...was it tinubu who increased the population from the 80s to now? Those who built houses in 1980s and now, was it tinubu who participated in or contributed to the building? In my house , just like every home owner does, I Pay land use charge every year. Multiply it by over 8m houses in lagos yearly.More houses, more land use charge, more certificate of occupancy...CofO is now min of 1m naira. Approval of plan costs a lot too, depending on plot location and type of building. In the 80s, there was a replica of BRT called LSTC. Brt wasn't even what we needed cos our roads needed to be wide enough to accommodate as much vehicles as possible. In most of the Western cities where I had visited, some had 8 lanes in their cities. Instead, our roads are shrinking. What we need is a functional rail system which Jakande started which would have been done in 8 years as projected. Chevron didn't come to lekki because of Tinubu, Mobil where tinubu worked and Total too. They pay taxes to lagos too. You see? By the time power changes hands, you'd probably apologise to those whom you're tackling because of tinubu, when you see real development. |

WhizdomXX:To me religion doesn't matter, look at the state governors performance. Does their religion matter? The best governors are Muslims and christians likewise the worst of them are both Muslims and christians. Nobody can islamise or christinise Nigeria. We have a secular constitution. |

tunjijones:You have a point on age. But look at the state governors, are the youngest governors the best governors? No. What we need is a president that can appoint the right people into the right positions and fire them when they fail to deliver. And we all know Tinubu has record of appointing competent people when he was Lagos state governor. |

Eriokanmi:So western region wasn't progressive or Oyo and Ondo? Is it Baba Jakande that's still ruling Lagos while Bola Ige, Ajasin stopped ruling ruling Oyo and Ondo? There's always context of time and good leadership to continue progressive ettos. After wonderful work by the above mentioned leaders, the military destroyed virtually everything. In 1999, there were new hope and among all the governors, few, including Tinubu you hate so much because he refuses to be a saint like you, renewed and expand what the like of Baba Jakande started and we are seeing the results today. It's called a democracy for a reason; everyone cannot see through your spec... You prefer Obi or Atiku for some reasons and I prefer Tinubu for some reasons. When campaign starts, you want to win people to your side because of these reasons and I want to do same. Many of us are silent dictators, very very automatic. Campaign for your candidate, mbanu! It's to start looking for unnecessary argument here and there; for what? For likes. |

AminuRano87:The religion matters oo my bro, especially after what we saw at Owo and Sokoto. But one thing I know is that in performance Tinubu and Peter are ages ahead with Atiku far behind, talking from their track records. |

tunjijones:and my questions to you are these, have you gone to verify what Obi did or did not do? secondly, have you ever been to Anambra state or passed by? |

tunjijones:it must have been another anambra state in Ghana not the same Anambra we think we are talking about? what do you people want per se? someone that will use 8 years to turn a state to Dubai or someone who will set the ball rolling non-stop for good governance in his time because government is a continuum. Nigeria's problem is continuity. If Abacha was still alive and ruling, Nigeria would have been infrastructurally great because he had a very long term vision. in the 90s he was talking about a 20/30years vision. This is what we want, not someone who will come there and turn it to their retrement home. |

xevove2061:So who will come and continue it? Is it Peter obi? Peter obi is an old order politician. He was part of the system. He was a PDP member till wike frustrated him out. If you want to talk about who has help the masses to fight and all that, it not obi but sowore. He is a youth and he is not a former member of APC or PDP. If this election is not about tribalistic sentiments, then sowore is the man. Not obi, atiku or tinubu cos they are all the same and they are all friends in case you don't know. And Peter obi is 62 yrs. He is not a young man. |

Sabonbuharirufa:You people make me laugh with your wholesale ignorance. Obasanjo's business interest, mainly his farming ventures, has been troubled by insecurity in the SW. OBJ has enough confrontation with Asiwaju to know he is a resolute, determined and fearless character. What other candidate will he thenp adopt other than Tinubu if he has an eye on the improvement of his security challenges across the SW troubling him personally? Will he choose Obi that Obasanjo knows from direct association is a coward who can never stand his ground and watched as his pal James Nwafor butcher Igbos, harvest their organs and dump their dead bodies openly and arrogantly in Anambra waters? Or ObJ will back Atiku or Kwankwaso he knows will never, for obvious reasons, be able to move as they should? Keep fooling yourself. Obasanjo and Tinubu may not be ideological soulmates but our former president knows the candidate who can best protect his own personal interest plus that of the SW and Nigeria at large. |

tunjijones:52 year old Sowore is a Youth? The youngest person to assume office in Nigeria was Igbinedion and GYBello. Look at what they have done so far. Its not about palstering youth bla bla on the discussion, its about you you think you can trust out of the pack to get the job done, who has done it before, who is healthier because we need to add that into the mix and who will take repsonsibility for the development of their country. |
