Achicha is an Enugu delicacy and not limited to only Nsukka.
That It's Nsukka food dosnt mean its eaten only in Nsukka naa, haba grin Nsukka attached to it is where it originated from, just like tuo is referred to as Hausa food or afang soup as a Calabar soup. All through my stay at Awka, i always see my Anambra friends buying it, especially around that Regina junction side, that road going to the Cathedral but all of them still refer to it as Nsukka food . But they don't add pomo like this one shaa
ooo grin

the english name is pigeon pea and not fio-fio. Nsukka people call it agbugbu. It is only aku people( igbo- etiti lga) that call it mgbugbu

This is called Achicha (Echicha in Nsukka dialect).

There is Ayaraya oka, Ibangwu, Ohonyi soup, Agbugbu, Okpa, etc.

There are other Igbo dialects, you know?
the name is achicha or achicha ede

It has never been ashisha no dialect in this one

The food is widely known among the people Enugu and Nsukka people

I learnt it from them before I realised some part of Anambra also cook it but calls it achicha ede

If you heard ashisha from someone it's the person's personal tongue....Igbo izugbe (General Igbo) spells it ACHICHA some just calls it FIO FIO because they don't know the name and the know is there is FIO FIO inside
