Owerri needs to do more. There are too many open gutter roads in Owerri without sidewalks in Owerri and other SE states. Let's keep our eyes on the ball and stop celebrating mediocrity. I want us young people to build a SE where Igbos and others from any where in the world would be proud to call home.

It begins with us, let's eschew celebrating these politicians when they do mediocre stuff and expect praises. Or old mothers and fathers can ignorantly praise them due to the fact that they may be ignorant. But we should know better.

If I had the power, I would have House of Assembly ban open gutter roads with no sidewalks in all SE states.

Imagine Aba, a commercial city, yet the governor is still constructing open gutter roads with no sidewalk yet the complaint of how the gutters gets filled with dirts. Why won't it be filled with dirts??
owerri needs to do more at least! I agree with you right. But the junction improvement is similar to what you have in kaduna.

This are roads in Kaduna.

Anambra is 10 times more developed than Kaduna, but bad roads sell it out.

I pray Soludo intensifies the Urban renewal effort in Onitsha and Awka with good roads (closed drainage, sidewalks and bicycle lane), this will stand Anambra out. Lagos, Port Harcourt and some other states have stopped constructing roads without sidewalks and open gutters. Anambra must join the queue.

This is why I don't like Obiano's tenure, he littered Anambra's internal roads with open gutters and poorly designed roads.

Anambra is actually the most developed/built-up state in Nigeria after Lagos. Gov just needs to tar it's roads and the citizens can do the rest.\

Soludo needs to intensify PPP to make Anambra great. Anambra is poor for now (state money), so he needs to patner with Private people to do so many things in health, education, estate and also industrialization. Expand Onitsha Harbour and map out new layouts for investors and industrialists to plug and play.

Start planning a highrise around the Niger River in Onitsha. That Iweka Interchange is a landmark, those houses around it are eyesore.

I can't wait to prefer to Stay in Anambra over anywhere else for economic reasons. We will rise.

NOTE: if you don't get the message just move along.
Mr man you are not from Anambra state. Why this obsession. You go and post few kilometers of roads as what Anambra should build. Why not post kaduna Airport, ICC, flyovers let’s compare.
We have quality roads in Anambra but we are not posting them because this road is not even located in the top 3 cities in the state.
We won’t go and build and paint few km road in the state while the state lacks critical infrastructure.

Owerri is more or less a glorified village littered with dilapidated roads and filth. Even Aba has better roads than Owerri, that's why millions of imo indigenes are trooping to Onitsha for greener pasture. The roads I posted are all Owerri. Shameless people

can you send a picture of a traffic junction in Anambra that looks like what we just saw in kaduna I'm trying to tell you where you can find that in the entire south East, Owerri only; and you are posting dirty roads

Take your useless post to igbo unity thread, this is Anambra thread. Take your advice to failed states like imo, enugu and abia states. Anambra is doing great from Obi to Obiano and now Soludo. We don't need advice from you people. Go and advice your governor, you opened a new moniker to deceive yourself, you think we don't know who you are.

The ediot has been camping here with his new found moniker. I don't know why these useless backward 4 states in igboland always unite in their hate, envy and bitterness to Anambra? They all have threads but everyone of them always camp here.

They are always bitter and envious because they all know the truth that Anambra with its three major cities is the most developed state in igboland. Today Anambra has the best airport and ICC in igboland, they are yet to recover from that.

I know people like you will struggle to get the message But don't worry I am here to help u.

Anambra is developed no doubt, if you read m comment you won't be going about dragging with the Imo guy. Anambra is to SE what Lagos is to SW. But will you say Anambra's problems are 100% solved? Fine, not that's why I posted that sp that we will keep our eyes on the ball and stop this nonsense and needless comparison.

Another annoying thing is that our Governors don't find it necessary to employ the use of road sweepers.

Please we should not be celebrating this nonsense again if not we are going to remain a laughing stock amongst others. Refer to the Kaduna road to get a proper perspective.

So far, it is only Dave Umahi that has taken road construction serious in SE (even though I will still knock him for doing roads with open drainages in some urban areas). I wish all parts of SE will toe that part. If we do, in no distant time the Anambra and the rest, in general, will attract foreigners who will be willing to live and work there.

Let's keep our eyes on the ball and forgo needless and unhelpful nonsense, sentiments. I've been following this thread for about 7 years now cause I love to see SE develop and I keep up with things. And since I've been here we've been doing this nonsense and it's eight years down the line yet Anambra and other SE states do not have an IGR that's up to N50 Billion.

Don't these things bother you guys? That you will grow and give birth and your kids will go outside your region to find white-collar jobs because most of the jobs within the regions are informal? It bothers me that's why when I read u guys spend needless hours on nonsense talks I get irritated.

The greatest undoing I repeat again of the Igbo People is our individualistic worldview. It has hampered our progress in a diverse Nigeria. Maybe in the past, it did help us, but now this is a new reality. We are now among more than 100 tribes around us. And the only way to move forward is together. Only fools will allow states created by Nigerian governments and non-Igbo actors to hamper our growth and progress as a united people.

Today all Yorubas regard themselves stakeholders of Lagos. That's why you see them working together to promote and invest in it even though many of them are not from there.

I know I am typing this in a public forum ,but seriously, we need to do better. We can't afford a directionless 8 years again. No matter who becomes president, we need to resolve to savage our only motherlad. Let's ignore Fg and behave as if they don;t exist and push for our good and let's see who can stop a united people.

Thank You

Take another example, if this worldclass Awka international convention centre was built elsewhere other than Anambra, the same envious frustrated bastards will camp here to tell us how Anambra doesn't have ICC. But they will all come here to play down on the ICC when none of their states have nothing to compare with the Awka ICC.

Nigga, dont listen to that silly boy. You have made a solid point and did it while being very civil and respectful. There are certain posters here who have some very strange interests and, these person dont care if Anambra burns ,they are bent on achieving their delusional goals.

Truth is Obiano did not continue with the same pace Obi governed Anambra with. He came into a very stable polity with a lot of funds on his hands and sane political scene. Anybody who lives an extravagant lifestyle, like Obiano will never make a good leader/administrator. Obiano was living in America when he became a governor and he knows how well the American streets were planned, decorated with flower and underground drainages. Ask yourself why Obiano abandoned Awka the way it is today. Isn't Awka an embarrassment to Anambra?

Do you know how embarrassed Soludo was the say he hosted the E.U contingent. He almost apologized for how unremarkable the government house appeared. The current house Obiano acquired in Woodlands, Texas ,after he became governor is much grand. Obiano was a mistake!

Not sure if this is the one being built with sukuk money or the one multinational coys build and get tax rebate from the federal gov't, but one has to ask why the OBJ, Yar'Adua and GEJ gov'ts couldn't fix this expressway, and the Enugu-Port Harcourt one, for the entire duration of their time in office. Things that one should take for granted in saner climes are treated like rocket science in Nigeria.

The drive looked nice, and i hope its maintained and KEPT TIDY as shown in the clip. Lack of maintainance and keeping our roads in pristine condition, like we see in dveloped societies, is something we tend to struggle with in Nigeria.

The federal gov't did well with this road. Hope it's completed 100%....and in record time too.

Soludo was proud to receive the Diplomats at the Anambra international Airport and took them around the state. Only fools like you think Soludo brought the diplomats to Anambra for jamboree. He could have waited till he completed the new govt house before bringing them.
Anyway what do I expect from a frustrated joker like you. Keep typing rubbish from your studio apartment.

Owerri is building these road designs because they cant afford to build flyovers. The junctions where they have these still have serious traffic. In the near future these junctions will still be removed to build flyovers.
Unlike owerri we have flyovers in Anambra. Can we find such flyovers in Anambra in Owerri?

Yet we have people who go out singing praises for them. THe only tangible thing Obiano did as far as I am concerned is the Airport. The ICC is not something that's very spectacular that e will indebt the state in Billions admist increase IGR and FG allocation.

THis is what Chimamanda spoke about. We should be bold to call out bad leaders adn refrain from praise singing.

Think home philosophy otherwise known as Aku luo uno is only working in Anambra where indigenes are investing in real estate, industry, commerce, entertainment, etc. But in other SE state especially enugu their governments are just noise with out doing the real work to attract investors. That's the reason Anambra has the biggest economy in the region.

Ok, you have said the tangible thing obiano did. What is the tangible thing obi did? This was someone that was a governor during oil boom, no recession, dollar was less than 200.

The recent bar association event was held at eko convention center in Lagos. As at today the only place that can host such event in the entire SE is the Awka ICC. If you don't know what hosting such events attracts to the economy of the state then stop making noise about good governance. You know nothing about good governance.

Obiano has brought development to Anambra by giving the state critical infrastructure. Every governor can come and build roads, govt is continuum. Enough of this your ramblings.

Thank you! I've said it many times that the best way for IPOB to bring the necessary changes they desire in SE is for them to join politics, participate in the political process. Not ordering/enforcing sit @home, boycott election. It won't work that way.

Basilo101 the bitter envious frustrated wawa man. It doesn't matter where the airport road is located, the fact that's it is located in Anambra is what matters because there's no such road anywhere in enugu state. Awka has 3 flyovers but enugu has one nonsense useless disjointed unplanned flyover, Awka has a worldclass ICC but enugu has none. Anambra has a worldclass international airport but enugu has a motorpark as an airport. Onitsha is a well planned city with beautiful roads, flyovers, etc.

While roads in Enugu are dilapidated, refuse dumpsites have covered most roads in Enugu from gariki to mayor market. Dumpsites of refuse have covered almost all the roads in Enugu while Ugwuanyi is watching in confusion. Enugu has failed as a town, Since 1999 till date, enugu cannot boast of any major infrastructure or road or major development.

even poverty in enugu is over 60% while it is 14% in Anambra. Now you know who is better.

Not at all brother. Any centralized powerful monarchy is not originally igbo. Onitsha, Oguta, Agbor, Aboh, Illah, Ossomari, are Benin, Omanbalas are Igala stock. These are where you have strong monarchy. Original igbos in Anambra have no history of powerful centralized monarchy but some shallow brain are forcing it on people as a tool for empty chest beating

Nnewi just like the rest of Anambra is monolithic. Igwe Orizu is more prominent and recognised more than all the village local champion Kings in enugu state. Anambra generally has the most elegant and distinguished Kings in igboland like the Obi of Onitsha, Eze Uzu of Awka and Igwe of Nnewi.

When Prince Charles came to Nigeria, Obi of Onitsha was called upon to represent the eastern region because he is the most powerful.

XerXers:

Tell us Nnewi history of centralized monarchy. Nnewi is original igbo and not part of Benin or Igala settlers in Anambra. The Orizus were British warrant chief for their own community. He is just one of the numerous igwes but recent attempt to shove him down to throat of other Nnewi clans as "Obi of Nnewi" is just very ridiculous

Eze uzu is another fraud just like obi of Nnewi.

Igbos have centralised powerful King that's why the Obi of Onitsha represents the eastern region in every national or international event. Obi of Onitsha dynasty stretches back to over 500yrs as at then enugu state was still habitat of monkeys. That's why till date people in enugu speak Anambra dialect because the area was colonised by Anambra people
