I went to a pharmacy today and asked them to check my BP.

The pharmacist did it the first time, she looked at me and said she wants to do again. Then after the second time, she looked at me again and said she needs to do it a third time.

After the third one, she asked if I was ok. I said yes. She now said the first time she did it, it was low, that was why she did again and again but that the second and third times are slightly low but nothing to worry about. She then advised me to take Glucose D to up my sugar levels or coca cola.

Im a bit disturbed cos it looks like she's trying to be discreet about something and not telling me exactly everything. So here's the reading.

Pulse 80.

Cos that is the only antidote to low BP.
Low BP is more dangerous than high BP.

I hardly worry because once I feel perturbed about anything and I pray about it, come to nairaland and joke around, that's it! I don't let anything bother me. I just ward it off.

So how will I now start worrying?

Your BP is Ok, you shouldn’t worry.

Please disregard the bolded advice. It will offer you no good. Lol

This is perfectly fine, especially if you've always measured thus. Your pulse is already compensating (not in a bad way) for the relatively lower sbp, to deliver needed oxygen to the cells.

Did the individual tell you how the sugary drinks are supposed to elevate your blood pressure? Or did you also check your blood glucose and it came back low?

Your blood pressure is very good at the reading you got. 105/85 is "Optimal" which is below normal. Your heart beat of 80 bpm is also good as the normal bpm reading is between 60-100bpm. Did she check your glucose level also? If the reading is too low that is when you will follow her advice of increasing your glucose level. You can ask your doctor or go online to see normal glucose level as per age.

Be concerned if you have any desire to be stressed. It's your stressed, would anything that you like to do with it.

Are u sure your pharmacist understands BP rate? Your BP is normal. Pulse normal too.

Your BP is very normal, even 100/80 is very ok.

Some think a normal BP must not exceed 120/80, No, for some 130/100 is not too high especially for older people.
