Ishilove:You're only looking at things from a parochial and selfish point of view. Those countries where they follow rules are been ruled by human beings. I don't intends calling anyone animals anyway but try to reason and see how your universities rank in the world because of none funding for research purposes. All you need to do is to beg the federal government and even vote them out come 2023. Nobody owns any government in power anything. They are custodians of our collective wealth and not autocrats. Don't let's anyone turn your rights into privileges for you. Just try and step out if this country and see how much you worth or have been made worthless. |

So? The students will be assigned another supervisor. It is as simple as that. If the Project supervisor had died, they would have been reassigned also. So this isn't news at all. Even the students, if they had their way, would have relocated to Canada also. |

Yasiok:We all have to find a way to save our morality. To return to love for one another. It starts with the family. Teaching our children love instead of racism, hate and suspicion of each other. Parents should lead with example. Stop teaching children that "anything goes". We need to shun the love of money above morality. We must start from scratch. |

A government that cares less for education will care more for anti-education. It is left to you to list what you think constitutes anti-education, particularly under this government. Meanwhile, APC is like a curse to this country. We believed them, and they are dealing mercilessly with us for believing in them. |

Magnoliaa:What's funny U can laugh now, but your children's children will still inherit this mess if nothing changes. You will keep voting over and over looking for magic from a govt that's just as corrupt and greedy as you are. |

Magnoliaa:So who do you think is the best candidate chick? I'm genuinely curious about your take on the candidates being fielded this time around. I'll admit I'm very ignorant about politics in Nigeria. However I do remember that the expectation when Buhari took the helm was that he would be tough on corruption. So what went wrong? I personally have reservations about the constant recycling of people who have had their chance previously to make the lives of the populace better and didn't deliver anything impactful. Why should they get a second chance?(only two I know in this bracket are BAT and Atiku). And for the Obi fella, been reading some threads on his work when he was a governor. Didn't know anything about before today but must admit, I'm liked that his work covered education, health and infrastructure plus investment in local communities. But I'm aware, this is the Internet, home of misinformation, disinformation etc. So humour me please, I liked your challenge to the OP so I reckon you view will be unbiased |

This is a very simple problem now. The student should Japa and follow the lecturer bumpa to bumpa |

This is just the consequence of choosing wrong leaders... I hope we can all learn from this... Let choose wisely, yekini the buhari promax is desperate and obi is obedient |

Magnoliaa:Your wisdom is uncommon. This write-up was near-perfection and i picked something major from it. "criticising and criticising and criticising without an equivalent provision of a viable solution instead too will not get anything done". Thanks a lot. Keep hammering to those politically apathetic to choose a side once and for all and be clear on who their choice candidate is! |

At the end of the day, the solution is simple...allow universites to raise fees so that they can find money to fund themselves...because unless government taxes everyone, including your local hawker, groundnut seller, herdsman, and farmer...they cannot find enough money for ASUU and universites. We have been on this matter since 2009. If in 2013, which GEJ supporters like to tell us, times were better, and our economy was top ten...and GEJ told ASUU then that he could not give them their money, and offered partial payment, what do you expect now? Yes, I am arguing for putting more burdens on the poor. The problem is, universites are so underfunded that if we are not careful...in ten years, only the graduates of foreign universites, and private universites would be eligible for jobs. The public unis would not be...and it would be the poor that suffer am. Yes, I went to school with LOW fees. And because of that, I had to buy my own mattress, my own books...because university did not have money to buy new books for the library, lived in very awful accomodation in the hostels because university could not maintain hostel on accomodation fees so low it was a joke., and had bad facilities. Yes, your leaders went to school for free (not necessarily true)...but back then, the number of universitiy students was manageable. (At one point we had six of them with populations less than 4000 students). The number is much higher, and more difficult. Either we raise fees, or we raise taxes, or we leave the universities as they are, and you stop complaining about how bad they are. The bad universities we have is what we can afford. (And even if we use the loot...can you tell me what happens when the loot money recovered runs out? ). |

When school eventually resumeed after 2023 election, we shall know how many students couldn't relocate to Ghanna for better education, how many lecturers couldn't join Private Universities or move abroad for better education and then we shall decide new age limit to serve in NYSC. |

Persephone1:It is really deep... Literally speaking. Nigeria is currently neck-deep in a state of rot, malfunction and degradation, that has riddled almost every sector. I mean, every aspect of the Nigerian state warrant a declaration of a state of emergency. Where do you even start? Education? health? Morever, We are currently in a cost of living crisis( not to mention insecurity and other vices) that is cripling millions of households across in the country. Only those out of touch with reality downplay the severity of this crisis bedevelling our country. Annoyingly, apart from a few academics highlighting this issues, politicians and even the populace are going about their lives as if all is well. SHAMEFUL! |

Magnoliaa:At the end you want us to vote for Obi, or Atiku or BAT. I am sorry, but I cannot, and I won't. Because they are all responsible for the mess we are in now. I even find Obidients funny. 6 months ago, y'all were backing PDP and calling it the party. Then when Obi left to LP...PDP was suddenly corrupt? Okay And as for the BATS....their man was not that spectacular as governor, he is old, he should have made way for the young, and was part of the geng that brought Buhari upon us. Don't even mention Atiku, who is just like the BAT. Yes, they are all bad. And yes, I am not happy about it. But at the end, you guys want us to vote for them. You won;t even give the other parties a chance because 'they are too small' (and even LP...you are all in it because you think that Obi is the messiah...he isn't...and because tribalisim...yes.). Vote for a candidate who will remove subsides, remove all corruption, and widen the tax net, so that we can be less reliant on oil revenue. Not for the same old people who have been part of the geng that wrecked us up these past 20 years. So, all your candidates are bad. If that makes me a joker...so be it. (Not the original person you responded to, but I don't get why you guys are so offended by those of us who are not enthusiastic about your three main candidates. ) |

Kasssandra:this is the summary we want to live like it is 1980, when the university student population was small, when the problem was not money but how to spend it in the late 1990s, universities were already overcrowded - a room designed for 8 students was holding over 24. ironically raising fees will automatically solve issues like campus cultism in public unis. if your folks are paying through their nose, you go align sharp sharp |

Infrabetatech:Visible in what sense? Are those graduated claiming unemployed, employable? Those employable don't know there essence of the course studied in the University or institution of their higher learning! If each known the essence of what each studied, you wouldn't need looking for work! And if you're thinking of Labour shortage which I doubt it will ever happen in Nigeria, all you need is to relax your immigration policy which luckily for Nigeria, our country is a professional in loosening our immigration policy! |

You nko? Why did you single yourself out? No, it is your choice to exercise your right or not, but you cannot choose to overtly and expressly shun political participation, while knowing that the growth, development, etc., of the country rests on the electorate and you're telling us (OBATIKUs) to go and choose well.
