Have we not been playing USA before this waldrum came
He has not added anything to us

If he is a Nigerian I don't think this NFF will allow him after the rubbish in Morocco

You didn't get the sarcasm... Some certain individuals were defending Randy here with some excuses that he is helping the team but organizing friendlies with USA and Canada...

Just to show you how clueless this guy is, you have already lost this game, you are four goals down, why not just use the opportunity to try more players?

Onyi and Onyenezide could be brought it, but no.

Also notice the defence is a bit better since demehin came in

Look at Nicole Payne and Ramat Imuran at Full back, they were so confident and played as if they have been the Superfalcons main fullbacks…

Randy is the team problem, he doesn’t know how to pick his first 11 no matter the kind of players available…

Why Play Glory Ogbonna ahead of Blessing Demehin and Akudo Ogbonna at CB

That man is useless

Final score:

USA 4 NIG 0

Observations:
1. Randy Waldrum has again shown himself as one who has no clue what he is doing.

2. Notice that most of our substitutions were forced i.e as a result of another player getting injured. Funny thing though is we played better when Demehin and ultimately Akudo were introduced.

3. Playing Alozie and Payne as fullbacks with a team like the US is recipe for disaster. It's unforgivable because he had options or players who played these roles naturally but he stuck to guns. Nicole and Imuran played these roles better.

That's why I'm even more disappointed in waldrum, how can a professional coach be that clueless about his own team ? Same thing with he did starting chikwelu against south Africa

God knows i was fighting for the right thing, I had to cut my ties with Randy immediately after the WAFCON set back.. I spoke up they tagged me the bad one.. Some where even writing me privately to not talk again.

Because of this Superfalcons team, I had a serious quarrel with Falcons Media Officer, She Blocked me on WhatsApp, removed me from our General WhatsApp group because I was the only one to stand my ground that Randy isn't good enough for the girls...

I will hardly contribute here again until they do the needful..

They too sabi kill person spirit. It's no longer about entertainment and passion. Such a low point in our female football.

The news of Grace Chanda's move seem to be the only joy from African female football today. See South Africa?? grin grin

Can we please start suggesting a better coach for the Super Falcons because Waldrum isn't fit for that position. Look at the Moroccan Ladies despite being an average team we all could see how well they played because they have a good coach.

Musings from watching the game…

1. This was a game of two halves – the first was filled with nervous players who seemed initially overwhelmed by the occasion. The formation was defensive oriented (which made sense due to the available personnel and the fact that the US has throttled several teams in recent weeks!). Two of the goals in the first half were due to individual mistakes: Ucheibe’s poor attempt at a ball which played Sophia Smith(11) on side for an easy goal and then a no call foul on Nnadozie from the corner which wasn’t properly cleared, leading to Lindsay Horan rounding Ucheibe in the box to score). The penalty given the US in the second half was so soft, it was a joke. Therefore, had we not had those 3 goals, the score would have been very respectable.

2. Personnel performance wise, in the first half, and the likes of Monday Gift, Michelle Alozie, Debbie Abiodun and Glory Ogbonna struggled to perform. Alozie was constantly getting torched by Malory Pugh (9) and Sullivan (17) on the left. Abiodun was a bit slow during the first 20 minutes but seemed to start finding her feet during the rest of the half. Monday Gift was completely MIA and Glory Ogbonna kept drifting in and out of position, as she seemed confused as to where she was playing.

3. The second half performance was much better, as the team seemed more balanced. We also have to consider the personnel changes made on both sides, as that somewhat impacted things. However, it was refreshing to see Imuran at left back and Demehin come in, and both ladies put in a very credible shift. Also liked Amanda Mbadi overall performance and fight she brought to the midfield, as well as Akudo Ogbonna who, when paired with Demehin, brought some calmness to the defence. Nicole Payne seems to play with a lot more confidence, which allowed her to utilize her blistering pace in support of the attack.

4. It’s disappointing to hear some forumers disparage the game management and personnel changes Waldrum made – little wonder why most on this forum are nothing but armchair coaches. To even suggest that Akudo should have been played ahead of Osi is extremely naïve. Or that Imuran and Nicole should have started the game (in lieu of Tony and Michelle) is laughable. First rule of coaching is you don’t throw your young bucks into the deep end (by starting them against the World Champs) as you could do their confidence irreparable harm! You blood them in gently - which is exactly what Randy did and kudos to him. We saw how the likes of newbies Imuran, Demehin and Mbadi responded - strong performances all around. We also saw how nerves overtook Debbie Abiodun and hope she is strong enough to recover – I am rooting for her. Players are selected on need and training performance, and I believe both factors came into play with Debbie, especially the latter as we were definitely short staffed in the midfield.

5. Overall, a good performance by the Nigerian ladies, considering the challenges they had (short staffed) and logistics (coming in a few days before such a big game). Now, considering this was a dilapidated and relatively young team, and lest we forget, we played the USWNT who are the current World Champs and had their FULL team, this was an overall credible performance by our young ladies. BRAVO to them and on to the next!

Better coach, yet they struggled to score against and defeat a team down to nine (9) players in over 60 mins of play!
Yeah right!
And the Morrocan team is NOT average - they did a lot of recruiting of players from England and France so they do have very decent players.

Your position isn't surprising quite frankly, it is consistent with all your stance on Randy. For whatever reason, you are deeply convinced that he has something to offer, a position most persons on this forum do not share. You conveniently shielded Randy of any responsibility, you even went further to applaud him for "a job well done considering".

It's important to note that Randy has the worst record of any super falcons coach in history. He's lost more games to African countries than any super falcons coach ever, he's lost more games to foreign countries than any super falcons coach ever. He's joined with Coach Ikhanna as coach with the worst WAFCON result (both finished 4th), and somehow he's the best thing since slice bread.

You’re talking as if this is the first time the likes of Nicole Payne, Ramat Imuran, Amanda Mbadi, Akudo Ogbonna and Blessing Demehin are training or playing under Randy Waldrum. This is very wrong of you to point out.

That man is clueless, He will continue to bring the Falcons down not until he’s SACKED..

Playing Glory Ogbonna at CB ahead of Akudo and Demehin was the first signe that we would lose with a higher Scoreline, thank Goodness she was injured and taken out… Constantly getting out of positions and not even knowing if she’s playing CB or LB…

Abeg talk better thing…

I was going to point out how he conveniently left out this fact. All of the above have worked with Randy and everyone save Imuran have played under Randy. How they became new blood that should be eased in is surprising.

Well, to defend Randy you'll need to twist narratives.
