Naysayers. We have our challenges like every other country. We have seen how Trump and some Republicans are threatening the American democratic foundation, that doesn't mean America is now a dictatorship.

U are really ignorant. Trump is what a democratic leader should be. He addresses the real issues and not stupidity

Nonsense. We have our challenges no doubt but we are making steady progress. Mathew Page and others like him should get down from their high horse. We all saw the allegations of massive rigging that trailed the last US presidential election. We all saw how a US president led a mob of insurrectionists to attack the VP and Senators at the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021. So, what should we call US democracy?
Sometimes, I wonder if you really have brains in that head of yours. Can you conveniently say that Nigeria has progressed in the last 7 years?

The fascists and authoritarian governance are just because of sheer greed and wickedness. The use of instruments of state for coercion, oppression, suppression and repression against perceived or real political enemies are part of third world democracies.

Buhari pattern of fighting corruption was a classical case in this regard. Absolutism is the African patter of governance though most of them are being backed by these Western imperialists.

So regionalism is the way out; the current quasi-federal system of government would continue to promote hunger, ethnic intimidation, religion intolerance, infrastructure decadence.

Meanwhile, before the military counter-coup of 1966 spearheaded mainly by the northerners, what we had was a regional system of government where every region controls their resources; but after they took over, they moved everything away from the region to the centre, thereby rendering the regions powerless.

You are intelligent!

Please what is stopping your LGA officials from using the hundreds of millions monthly allocation on your behalf, for hiring different types of workers, paid at the minimum wage of N360,000 per year, to do all its various responsibilities?
How is all the big grammar above, an explanation of this

The blame lies with Aguiyi Ironsi for promulgation of the unification decree in 1966.

Abolition of the regional government was not the idea of the north. It was Aguiyi Ironsi that caused this mess.

You can't hide the truth forever...

Nigeria is opposite of democracy and sane country.
A country of nepotism, religious hatred and tribalism.
An inconclusive country that has been shouting one Nigeria since 1960.

If Nigeria loses the opportunity to vote in Tinubu we've made the biggest mistake in our lives .
This is a man that governed the most complex facility in Nigeria, the economic hub of the country and revitalized it and moved it forward .
African democracy is different from world democracy we are getting there but we shouldn't use their standards to judge ourselves , all the criticism I'm hearing about Tinubu shows some are not ready to face the reality.

Something tells me you almost always post comments on this forum just to feel good about your linguistic prowess and semantic manipulations. But one would be tempted to submit, after careful observation, that you're allergic to the truth and would rather defend a lie with every fiber of your inconsequential being. You're always ready to provide infantile excuses and at times present to us fallible evidences from questionable sources to prove your hollow points. For someone like you to attempt to take Donald Trump( a renowned liar) seriously and adopt his facist speeches and actions as evidence of rigging in the US speak volumes about your person. SMH.

The earlier you understand that there'd always be different ideology regardless of class the better for you. That's what democracy is all about. This election is displaying the ideological blocs we have in these country . Regardless of media propagandas the world is watching and they know what each blocs stands for.

The mistake a lot of you folks make on this forum and elsewhere lies in the propensity to believe that all forms of civilian rule/administration translates to a democracy. There are certain basic principles and values that characterizes a democracy but which are conspicuously absent from the make belief, prebendal politics that is practiced in Nigeria. The only thing that makes it look like a democracy is the periodic elections held. Shikenah!
excerpt from my earlier post: African democracy is different from world democracy we are getting there but we shouldn't use their standards to judge ourselves , all the criticism I'm hearing about Tinubu shows some are not ready to face the reality.

With benefit of hindsight, would you have taken Tinubu’s advice to vote Buhari?

Let’s start from there.
