How can a person of her status who is a scholar at Carnegie Mellon uttered such a despicable statement

Dr. Uju Anya is a university professor and researcher in applied linguistics, critical sociolinguistics, and critical discourse studies primarily examining race, gender, sexual, and social class identities in new language learning through the experiences of African American students.

Nigerian again for the wrong reason!

You should only pity your great grandfathers who suffered the brunt British colonialism.

I dont know the lady but she is 100% right. May the Queen never rest in peace. I pray God put the queen in the most painful and deepest part of hell. The queen and her family damaged the lives of millions especially black Africans. They took over our lands stole our resources and installed puppets to control african future.

And you personally voted for oppressors who have made life hellish for you all.

It was a Yoruba Christian Called Ajayi Crowther who first felt the Great burden to Carry the Light of the Gospel of Christ into the Heart of Darkness called Igboland
It was not what he was told it was what he and others with him had to Confront for the Sake of the Gospel of Christ

Britain's role in the Biafran war is not hidden.. If you search for am you go see am.

May her soul - wherever it is - rest in peace

A war is a war. there are allies of each sides and there are winners and loosers. These are unfortunate events that in hindsight could and should have been avoided by all.

When you won't make your own independent research but regurgitate what you were told by people who were barely aware of what happened, why won't you come online to rehash conjecture?

The Queen is merely ceremonial, so if you want to blame the British for supporting the Nigerian side during the civil war, please blame the then prime minister Harold Wilson, not the Queen.

Moreover, if the British can be accused of being on the side of the Nigerian government, then we should also bring to light the backing of the French and Israeli that Biafra had.

So say something else.

Get your facts right.

Read your history well, Biafra had no backing and don't be stupid, Isreal supported Nigeria

While her post is really extreme and came at the worst time (when Britons are mourning), and will of course lead to punishments to her, and a blackening of her image; what she said is true. During colonization, they raped, and killed, and sold Africans to slavery. Even if Queen Elizabeth was a ceremonial head, she could have used her authority as the monarch to put laws in place to abolish slavery. But did she do that? no, she did not.

To all of you posting her on your status, think about her influence on Nigeria as a country before you click send. Commonwealth? Yes. But degrading Africans, tearing down our structures, commonizing traditional leaders, and also stealing our prized artworks? A big yes.

Nothing will happen to Uju. She lives and works in America where a majority don't give a damn about the British Monarchy.

The only people I pity are the blacks who can't uju is being attacked because of race and feminism

Several white persons have said worse about Elizabeth on Twitter today but has not received the amount of backlash she has received

So that cowards and morons like you will know your history.
What history is been taught in a vulgar tweet. She is just filled with hate and poison that will eventually consume her and your likes.

So this was about Biafra. Ojukwu dragged ibo people into a war that was doomed from the start. Blame the coward Ojukwu that fled to Ivory Coast after leading thousands of his kinsmen to slaughter.
