Hello guys. Please I'm not sure if this is new on CGI. My F1 visa was delayed about 3 weeks ago ,so while filling a new VISA application, I came across this page below. If I select No it will take me to document pick up location page and lastly payment page. However, If I choose YES, it will take me to the second screenshot.

Is this normal as I haven't been issued a Visa before let alone having an expired visa? Will this have any implication on being able to see a date .. just worried! Has anyone encountered this before? . Contribution /input will highly be appreciated .Thanks.

Seems you're trying to rebook a new appointment after making a new payment. You have to pick No so you can go to the oage where you will upload your payment details.

If you have done that, pls confirm if you are able to get a favourable date.

Thank you.

Ikmontana1:
ok sir, thanks sir, I understand your point.

am jus confused cause I have read many interview transcripts here abt visa applicants being asked by d VO why they want to go the US to study, where are they working currently and why they need d degree they are going to study.

most visa applicants reply by stating they work in places that are interesting to hear and are related to their course of study. (am not sure if all applicants are being honest tho, cos am sure over 50% of graduates in nigeria don't work in places related to their course of study).

my situation is different tho, cos am currently an entrepreneur in grocery, I own d business, so I don't do anything related to my b.sc certificate i.e demography and social statistics.

and I have seen response from experts here dat it's better a applicant apply for a masters course dat is related to his/her b.sc program.

so let's imagine I apply for a masters program in "applied demography or sociology", n a VO asks me "why am I going for d masters degree", clearly I don't need it cos am not using the b.sc.

and again d VO asks me where I currently work, again if am being honest my current work place is not related to my course of study.
I was a good student during my undergraduate, if not, I would not have graduated with a cgpa 4.18/5.00 from one of the top public universities in nigeria.

I have done some research about schools in the United States dat offer masters program in demography, I jus didn't go deeper or apply cos I want to evaluate my chances of getting a student visa, before commiting resources in d journey.

* my question is

1) Do I have to lie to get a student visa i.e abt where am working, why I need d degree e.t.c.

2) Can I choose a course dat is not related to my b.sc program, like public administration or Accounting or Economics e.t.c

Thanks sir.

n sorry for the many questions, I just like to understand something before I commit to it.

Hello everyone,

Please I need help with my question, can someone apply for F1 visa from the UK?

My friend is a registered nurse in the UK, and recently got masters admission in MPH for spring 2023.

Self sponsored, can he apply for F1 from the UK?
How do he show ties and convince the visa officer that he will come back to Nigeria or to the UK?
Did he have any chances of getting the visa from the UK or does he need to come to Nigeria to apply for the f1 visa.
Please help.

nah you didn't prepare well at all. Your profile has so many red flags.

Why would your uncle who has his own family to feed, sponsor a full-grown married man and his family to study in the US just to come back to Nigeria to become a retail manager? Like there are so many cheap online business courses you can take to gain further managerial experience. You do not need to go to the US with your whole family for that. Also, your wife leaving her government job that she seems so passionate about for a long while also set off alarms.

Next time you go, make sure you have a clear career plan and a better COA explanation. Sorry for the refusal though

Thanks a bunch. We weren't going together. She didn't ask more than one question. No time to explain at all..... She's got a lot of projects to execute at the office. Just a possibility of she visiting for 2 wks while on the project.

Plus, my Uncle is really planning on expansion and he feels the experience I'll gather upon my return will make me a better fit to oversee some of the branches.

I'm really curious as to what sort of answer you are expecting an ex visa officer to give you. He has mentioned what he is able to help with, and you are still confused. You said it yourself that maybe 50% are lying. Do you want him to decide for you if you should lie or not? Going for the same course as your bsc increases your chances of funding from your school especially when you have a good undergraduate grade. It also cements your progression story. Having funding from your school and having good educational progression will make for a better profile presentation at the embassy. In conclusion, some things are more easily verified than others. E.g an undergraduate degree is more easily verified than a job. Your job title and job descriptions are what you tell the VO through your ds 160. What you write in your ds 160 is up to you. Cheers.

Hello Nairalanders.

Please Is there any way for the VO to confirm how many schools you applied to ?

Let's say for example you applied to only one school.

If the VO asks how many schools did you apply to and you say two instead of one.(also you claim that you got accepted by only one out of the two Universities you applied to)

Will the VO know you're lieing??
