We have the most clueless administration ever. like you said this should not be coming from a finance minister as it will reduce confidence in the naira further. George Soros caused a crisis in Asia with a simple verbal prediction. How can a finance minister say this. Pitiful

Even it’s to go and be doing male ashewo in the Europe or Dubai, I’m fully in.
How is the average Nigerian now supposed to survive. God save us if Peter Obi doesn’t win.
But even then, is he a magician? The damage to this country seems irreparable as it is.
Vote Peter Obi is all I can say.
The deed is done. Nigeria may collapse very soon

Why not go take the job if you have a better solution. Do you even know why a currency value appreciates or depreciates. They are always on their bed 24/7 complaining and crying.

It's not about having confidence. In that sense traders have no choice but to use naira whether they are confident in it or not.

What we should be worried about is people buying dollars as a store of value/assest because she said the rate will go up. This will drive the price up some more.

So yes, i agree woth your general point.

Acidosis:
Of course, the naira will weaken further. The most dollarized election in the world is coming up soon in the world's poverty capital. Quite paradoxical that the most affected and oppressed by the poverty plaque are more likely to plunge the country further into poverty and indebtedness by their crass electoral choices and mal-decisions.
And most Nigerians will blame the late queen Elizabeth and refuse to hold their leaders accountable.

I still remember when this useless buhari govt assumed power enthroned by thieftinubu and his urchins, they kept shouting diversification.

We will diversify the economy to strengthen the naira.

8 years down the line, they fulfilled their promise by diversifying the whole country into poverty, pain, sorrow and death.

If you like don't vote for Peter Obi

I will be the last person to beg people to vote for the right candidate

Tue Tue! A well meaning minister of finance of a country will never open mouth and say such depressing thing, if it were Fed Powell of US or Christine Lagarde of ECB that says such against their currencies, you know what would be happening now only for saying it out.

The major problem of APC government is sentimental appointments by alignments and it is my turn deals! If not almost member of this government staring from the president to all personal appointees are all substandard and incompetent! Yes, I said so.

Just one country, 54k+ Ghost workers, borrowing money to pay ghost workers, how can that kind of economy work pls?
You have nailed it my brother, and I'm afraid bringing in pdp to replace APC will make things worse and would be a vicious cycle. What I have noticed is that pdp is busy sharing positions before even getting to government and if they get there they will use the next four years for political patronage and compensation of the party leaders that brought them to power and the cycle continues.
The only thing that can save Nigeria now is if by some miracle Peter obi wins the election.
