Forget that your wife is doing her Msc, what I draw from this is that the woman, your wife and the other women in that house are full-time housewives and gossiping is a common issue with full-time housewives, the Msc programme is just an excuse because it isn't full-time like undergraduate programme, your wife has excess time in her hands especially when ASUU strike gave her more time. Get a job or setup a business for your wife and this issue will die down on its own.

Your wife is a smart woman, she is saving you from impending trouble that woman will eventually bring if you are not man enough to confront her to stop coming to your house.

I am going to conclude that you both are very young.. So many things could have been prevented.

To start with, your wife should learn to choose her friends wisely. Anybody that gossips about everyone and anything will most likely gossip about you too. It's just common sense.

Your wife has no right preventing your best friend from coming to your house but, if you eventually succumb to her pressure regarding that, then you ain't man enough. So long as your best friend had no hands in their Yeye gossip, and his only crime is having a sister who gossips, then, your wife should do the needful by keeping your friend's sister at bay.
You do not need to tell your friend about his sister's behaviour, never discuss that incident with him unless his sister tells him, and he brings it up. Be diplomatic with your response to him, or you just tell him "Ol' boy, abeg make we live these women with their wahala ".
Whenever you come across your friend's sister, do try to say "hello", with a smile, and go about your business. In case your wife asks you why you still talk with, or greet your friend's sister, I guess you should be able to handle that aspect as MAN OF THE HOUSE!! Do not be a WIMP
