Shut up yourself... His sack was merited.. The timing was the problem..
The team was on a downward spiral under him .We were losing to some stupid teams here and there and you think he would have qualified us for the world cup over Ghana?

It's been almost a year since Rohr was sacked and none of the so called big teams have approached him for a coaching job... They told us that the likes of Algeria and Morocco were courting him...
BS!

Somebody who has been coaching for 4 decades now and no trophies to his name..

I'll repeat it for anyone that care to listen..Sacking him wasn't a mistake... The timing of the sack and the replacement gotten were the mistake...

I strongly disagree with you..
Let me use your former coach Ole as an example here .. When he first took over the team, things changed.. You guys were playing well and winning games and fans were praising him... Even last season, he started well... Then the decline started .. The fans wanted him gone.
In your opinion,do you think I he had been allowed to stay, you guys would be better this season?

It's the same with Rohr.. He started well and then the he declined.. After the 2018 AFCON, the team started playing rubbish..No pattern of play..Just kick and rush with individual brilliance... He lost at home to CAR, struggled against Sierra Leone and Cape Verde... I very much doubt he would have beaten Ghana and Tunisia...

Lets admit it, the man is average.... The calibre of players we paraded made him look good...

We need CB options. Let’s have them and pick our best.

Modified
If Ajayi is good enough, Ekpiteta probably is.
We want even better CBs. But we have to try the available.

This is Ajayi(green) vs Marvin(blue)
Very similar players in completeness. The latter has the 7 point edge in defensive stats.

This Ekpiteta guy has been playing in the lower division for all his career.. At 27, he doesn't look like a solid option ..

Looking at the groups again, I have to say, I don't see any African team with a real chance of making it out of the group...

In group A, Netherlands are favorites. I'm very sure Qatar will do all they can do qualify out of the group.. Ecuador are a good team too..It will be difficult for Senegal.

In group D, France are favorites..But who knows if the champions curse will take effect again..Right now they have a lot of players out injured.. In the event that they flop like other previous reigning champions, then maybe Tunisia can stand a chance..But Denmark are a strong team..Tunisia will have to battle Australia who are just okay..

Group F, it's Belgium's group.. Croatia may or may not replicate their form from 2018.. they aren't exactly on fire at the moment.. Canada have a young and talented team, but Morocco can beat them.. It's a tough one..

Group G is for Brazil.. Serbia and Switzerland are evenly matched too..I don't think Cameroon stand a chance...maybe...

In group H, our bredas may be hiding under some kind of delusion that this is their time to take revenge in Uruguay, but e no go work..I can't remember when last Uruguay failed to qualify from the group stage.. Portugal have a team that can challenge for the world cup.. The problem is if they will depend on Ronaldo or not.. I mean, if they decide to build the team around Ronaldo thinking he is still in his prime, it may backfire . South Korea are just there too..But on their day, they can give the big boys problem..

So you see, it's a tough one for all the African reps ..

Anything can happen sha, but no too put mind for am... In 2018 Nigeria, Senegal and Morocco and good chances to make it out of the group but blew it...

yea you are right but the main points here is that he would hv taken the team farther than egu did and qualify the team for the World Cup with unpleasant conservative style

I have absolutely no doubt we would not have qualified to the world cup under rohr. I would suggest you go back to take a look at the last group stage world cup qualifier. The only reason we reached the final stage was because ndidi stopped the ball from entering the net. If they had scored, they would have locked shop and based on the performance that day we wouldn't have equalized. Rohr was good in his early days but he was far spent. I'm sure the same rubbish performance will still rear it's head in the nations cup and we will eventually crash out during the group stage. You cant even mention one country that has been said to be interested in his services since the sacking.

Senegal ( they can't beat Netherlands but with very few ojoro from the home team they should be able to beat Qatar. Ecuador is beatable to me Sha.)

Tunisia should be able to qualify out of their group Sha. France with the winners curse. All these injuries up and down. They should able to get a draw against France hopefully. Denmark is another strong team in the group. All those asian countries are not competitive enough and I feel they may have gone soft from lack of quality oppositions. But then maybe I'm overestimating Tunisia.

France if they overcome their injuries

Ndidi dropped by one from 85 in FIFA 22 to 84 in FIFA 23. Probably reflective of the dip in form he's suffered in the past year no doubt.

Osimhen increased by 3 from 80 in FIFA 22 to 83 in FIFA 23. Funny thing is I felt 83 should have been his FIFA 22 rating while he enters 85 by now. Well, FIFA won't get it all right.
Haaland isn't Nigerian but I gotta say he should be 90 and not 89. Coz if I think Osimhen should be 85, then in truth, Haaland should be 90. Funny FIFA.

Chukwueze should be 80. For real. Wetin stop FIFA from adding that +1 OVR point. Haba.

The shocker is the one not even shown in the graphic.

Iwobi's 75 is criminal!!!! Dude should be at least 79. The disrespect on Iwobi's talent and form is real in FIFA 23. 75??!!!! Bollocks!!! That's just +1 above a silver card.

And talking about Silver cards, Calvin Bassey is 74. That's Silver card rating. He had something to say about it. He wasn't having it. Lol

And to be fair, I think Bassey should have a Gold Card. 75 minimum.

And ofcoz, I don't think Nigeria's Super Eagles is on FIFA yet. We have enough Gold card players to make our Squad builder look so GWG-worthy. cool

yes I agree that his sack was merited but rohr would hv qualified the team ahead of ghana

That wouldn’t hv been achieved with pretty football knowing what was at stake. We all know Rohr’s conservative style would hv made the game more boring and rigid but tactically he would hv scrapped a win to qualify

Ghana wasn’t better but tactical their rookie coach was miles ahead of egu in both legs

Also against Tunisia at the last afcon the German would hv ousted the North Africans

How was his sack merited when he met all his contractual obligations? To me, I feel like all the bad luck super eagles experienced at ANC and wcq could be attributed to Karma.

The Nigerian NBA coach at Boston Celtics is being cooked. Apparently he had intimate relationship with a female staff against the franchise code of conduct. His career is on the line sadly.

Ime Udoka. He no try at all. He could have any woman he wants just about. He is even dating a movie star. Why break the rules? And they must have been doing something at the team’s facility for them to have been caught.

With the dwindling performances of the SE under Rohr's watch, I say there was no guarantee that he'd have qualified us for the WC. He could, he could not have. No certainty either way. It was good that he was sacked.
